I was doing one of these not to this standard of course . But never could get my head around why the middle of the wings was higher than the bonnet untill now 😂 👍
Ref the WRC front wing 'humps' the ideal solution would be to take moulds from a WRC car and then make your own humps to blend in to your wings. Second option would be to make mock-up humps on your own wings based on photos etc. and then taking moulds from those. Your fibreglass friend will know how to do all this and how to bring it all together retaining strength etc.
The second option at this point is seeming like the likely candidate, ideally I’d like to take moulds and make myself some carbon Kevlar wings so they’re extra lightweight but it all boils down the cost really, iv got the original front wing I pulled off in my garage still so I might use them so make the plugs just incase it doesn’t go to plan 🙈😅
If all goes well though I may have a go at making other parts in carbon aswel and maybe make a batch of things to sell but again, we’ll have to see how it all pans out on the wings first
This is already looking great. Progress is really good too. Loving your content mate. Thank you.
Much appreciated dude, definitely coming together now man, loads still to do yet though 💪🏼
White with martini graphics would look incredible
That does look good, I’m not sure I’ll do a livery on this now though to be honest, I wouldn’t mind putting it out to vote closer the time to get everyone’s thoughts, maybe see if any viewers want to design something unique that I might be able to use…?
Fair play mate , today you haven’t much experience in fiberglass or body kits your doing a cracking job , really enjoying the progress 👊🏻👍🏻😉..
Thanks dude
That looks great 👍🏻
I subscribed i am enjoying the videos keep em coming.
Thanks for the sub man, plenty more to come yet, don’t you worry about that 🍻
one cool project
Love all your hard work Terry. As much as I like these Chip Foose $100k plus builds. I prefer keeping it real mate. Top job!
Thank you mate, I love a good chip foose build but they don’t show you struggles side of those builds unfortunately, I’d rather see those bits and how they get over problems than all the easy bits lol
Absolutely amazing work Terry! 🫶
Great effort can’t wait to see it completed
You and me both chap, I’ll be over the moon when it’s all one colour to be fair lol
Absolutely brilliant work Terry. 👌🏻
Thank you kind sir 🍻
I just love watching these videos 👍👍👍👍
Glad you like them man 🍻
Another new subscriber, great skills with the fabrication, looking forwards to the next episode, 👍
Regards Russ...
Thanks for the sub rus, and thank you very much mate, hopefully I’ll continue to improve the more I learn 🤞🏻😅
HAPPY NEW YEAR. Shame you have to cover up your hard work with the kit. However, it's an inspiration for anyone wanting to follow suit. I'm liking the longer videos. Nice mix of time lapse, keeping my interest without being boring. Well done, so far.
Happy new year mate, yeh I’m abit gutted I’m covering everything up to be honest, but equally, it’s all for the greater good, atleast the videos will always be here to show what’s underneath…
Glad you like the videos though mate, it always helps getting positive feedback 🍻
Looking good terry happy new year🤟👍🇬🇧
Same to you bud 🍻
All the best for the New year Terry fitting the body kit is going to be a worthwhile challenge nice to hear you have more subscribers you deserve them with the amount of content and time you put into your videos
Thank you mate, be nice if it can grow but I’m not overly fussed, I just enjoy doing it to be honest, It’s actually quite enjoyable learning how to edit aswel, be nice if I had more time/knowledge to be abit more creative with the editing though but I’m sure as time goes on il learn more and get better 🙂
Awesome video once again Terry…good health for the new year and keep grinding away
Thank you, and to you to!!, hopefully 2024 is a better year for us all 🤞🏻🍻
Happy new year, certainly coming along nicely now 😎

Thank you dude, and back at ya! Goes to quick though doesn’t it haha
Definitely mate and thank you 🫶@@Tdevil86
You are a Beast 😎👍 great work ! Best wishes and cheers from Denmark 🇩🇰 🍻
Haha, thanks man! I’d love to visit Denmark one day, looks awesome over there!!
Definitely coming together. Someone’s been busy over Christmas, 🫡
No stopping me here mate 😬😂
Happy new year !!! Bloody hell youve been busy, fantastic progress looks really good ive messed with fiberglass panels for years and to be fair youve done a cracking job, heat is your friend to get them to fit properly and that doesnt look a bad kit ive messed some really bad ones in the past think they get stored wrong and twist out of place, devil is in the detail with replicas and yours will look great when its done well done mate 👍
Happy new year buddy!
Yeh no stopping me here mate haha I’m glad I caught wind of the heat gun trick before starting this to be honest, I wouldn’t have had a clue what to do otherwise lol, I definitely didn’t help myself with how I’d stored it all though, I’m probably to blame for why a lot of it didn’t want to fit up to well to start with 🙈😅 hopefully it’ll all look 100% once Iv tubbed the rear and bonded everything on properly 🤞🏻
Hi Terry happy new year mate . Wow that old escort really did start taking shape! Fibreglass huh it’s fun the good thing is it’s pretty easy to manipulate although being flexible makes it challenging lol . Think those headlights looked a million times better than the blanks if I’m honest gave a much more real car look to it for want of a better word ! Nice job mate really cool 👌👍
Happy new year bud! It’s definitely challenging working with fibreglass, I think I prefer metal to be honest lol
I’m with you on the lights, looks less cartoon like with proper lights in there…
I have a plan to convert the blanks into ducts/lights with some xenon type lenses if all goes well, hopefully il get into that at some point this year, just be something different to the norm and functional…
Great work there mate , love the vid as ive been done the same thing to my mk6 4x4 fiesta . People really dont understand how much time and effort goes into getting everything spot on.
Keep up the good work👍
Couldn't agree more mate, I think it’s not until you actually do it yourself you truely realise just how involved some of these things can be, watching a few 20min videos doesn’t help either, no one ever says on those videos, this actually took 2weeks to get done lol
Happy new year Terry. Fantastic metalwork thus far. Fiberglass kit is going to be a learning curve for alot of us as we watch this. 1 thing to keep in mind.. The WRC escort has an extra flair on the front arches.. It's a vertical bulge upwards that appears to be further clearance for the front wheels. You'll see it if you search it.
Happy new year bud. Yeh I did mention that near the end of the video, I did try to insert a picture of it while talking about it but the picture wouldn’t load onto my editing software 😩
Iv now got some measurements of that hump on the wings so I might try and replicate it, il try it on the old ones first though just incase it doesn’t go to plan lol
Brilliant video Terry lad. I’d be very tempted to put the whale tail on that 😆👌🏼👍🏼 it’s too iconic
I have to be honest, iv never really been much of a fan of the whale tail myself, I agree though, its iconic, probably thee most iconic spoiler ever fitted to a road car, I prefer the wrc though, or just the lower section, the whale tails a bugger to see past out the window lol
Superb 👌🏻 as for your wheel problem try image wheels
That’s a shout, I have image billet 60’s on my van, great customer service from those guys!!
Looking good Terry id keep them wheels they look wicked really soot the car
Cheers dude, now I know what they cost to buy new Iv decided I really like them lol hopefully they can stay mate but until I get some running gear fitted I won’t know for sure, worst case I might have to shallow down the dish on the wheels a little, hopefully not though 🤞🏻
Didn’t know you could use heat to bend fibreglass 😮 looks well wicked as the kids say 🤣
I do now 😅😂
@19:47 that is ment to go to the top of your sill 👍🏼
Yeh, need to go back and readdress the passenger side, drivers side is good though thankfully, had a good few folk reach out with pictures over the weekend 👌🏼
Dan's "boosted2000" channel 👍
Can I suggest you raptor the inside of the fibre glass panels it's great for preventing cracking
Never heard of that before, is have to look into that!
bang, + 2024 is off to a flying start...
will those headlamps not be fitted slightly further forwards when they are mounted onto the holding clips [2-3mm?]
keep it up young man
It is indeed mate, and what better way to start than with a good insight into how this old girls going to look all done 👌🏼
Headlights will only sit out 1mm, the plastic mounts clip into the panel with just a tiny edge to stop them falling through, luckily I have the quattscort right there so I could double check 😬
Great job m8 it starting to look like an escort wrc
It’s getting exciting now it’s started looking like a car again, I need the Quattscort to look like a car again now lol
Ive been following this from day one.. what a great effort you are putting in. Honestly you are doing fantastic. P.s can i have this car when your finished please
Cheers arron, I’m probably going to end up keeping this thing once it’s done now with the amount of time/money il have invested in it once done lol definitely turned into way more of a project than first anticipated that’s for sure lol
@@Tdevil86 nooooo... you cant keep it. Lol. Your not allowed 2 escorts. The red one needs to in my garage 😄
Haha, my wife will 100% agree with that, iv got the van aswel as the cars lol the van may need be purged from the fleet though to keep a happy marriage going lol
@@Tdevil86 haha no keep the van... lol
Terry, that OSR aperture in the bumper, is that not for the towing eye for the Cossie? Coming on nicely mind mate. All the best for the new year.
Cheers dude. But No, the cossies have a little round cap that pops out on the rear bumper and a screw in type tow eye, someone has welded in something like that before so il utilise that and put a cap on the bumper like standard I think, need to work out how to make a round removable cap yet though lol
A very productive nights work. Never thought you would get it so good so quickly. Are you reinstating a rear tow fitting? Just in case you need to be pulled out of a ditch backwards 😁
Oh 100% it’ll end up somewhere it’s not meant to be lol but yeh, will have a tow hook of some description, someone has welded in something for a Bolt in/out type hook that I may use yet, I just need to work out what hook fits the thread..
Hi fella ive got a actual escos, the centre of side skirts have fitting kits ( holes is car and the hooks push into them ) hard to explain, if i could att images id show you
Hiya mate, I know what you mean, iv had a good few people reach out on Facebook over the last couple of days with pictures etc, it all just clips together basically… be nice if I could work that into mine so they’re removable but it’s a lot of work just to be able to remove them… turns out the escos also has, what I can only describe as a stand off type bracket for the rear bumper in the arches, that’s something I need to try and make soon aswel to support my bumper sides
Could you lay the f.g bonnet on the original one and heat it just to get the general shape back
That’s not a bad idea, il give it a go later, I might also lay the steel bonnet back in just to make sure it’s not the wings that are out of shape…
For the bonnet ? Could u not put rubber bumps on to hold it up?
That has potential, iv got bump stops at the front as standard but I could always add a couple where it sags down 🤔 il have to look into that
Try xsoprt racing mate for your grill good guys down there
Funny you said say that, that’s exactly who I ordered my grill with last week 👌🏼 need to find some mesh stuff to go in it now
@@Tdevil86 I may have some at home mate
Its coming together nicely now. Is this one a keeper?
Probably will be now mate with all the work il be putting into it, this will probably end up being the race car and the Quattro escort might be more of a fast road/track car… things change though so you never know lol
@@Tdevil86 good stuff, keep the videos coming Terry
hey , where did you buy the body kit ?
I bought it all off a guy called Raymond younger on Facebook, he makes and sells the kits on the Ford escort groups
❤👍🚗🛠
A hell of a lot of work😮 not as straight forward as you think, none of these kits are.
Bodywork in any sense isn’t as easy as you first expect as Iv come to realise over the years lol, paint work is a fine out and my hats off to anyone that does it day in day out!
Happy new year fella. Love the build series. All the best for 2024 🎉
Happy new year mate and same to you!
Jeys. That kit is shit! I used to work in a Porsche body shop and the boys that worked there would always curse the fibre-glass kits. Now I know why…
I don’t think any fibreglass kit will fit like oe, there’s alway adjustments to be made I think, but if I can manage it anyone can lol
Just scrap it money pit
They are all money pits but got to love an escort, I have 3 of them 😊
Blasphemy! Rehabs for quitters
Terry if it would help you with the side skirt send me your email address and I can send you whatever photos of a escort cosworth for reference. Keep you the good work, it is starting to come together
Thank you mate, I appreciate that, I have had a few viewers send me some videos and pictures through Facebook already as it goes which has been quite nice, drivers side is virtually bang on, still need to tweak the passenger side a little though.. but yeh man, she’s looking pretty good now, tub the arches next then bond everything on for good 👌🏼
@@Tdevil86 that's no problem, I look forward to seeing the next videos 👍
