My favorite teachers are definitely the ones who made learning fun. Each teacher had their own way of making learning engaging, enjoyable, and relatable. You don’t need to be an entertainer. You just need to find a creative way to connect the subject to real world examples for your students to understand the concepts. Textbooks aren’t the only tool to teach

Thank you, sir! I had took her class because it was the only one that fit in my schedule, and I have to say, she doesn't know how to teach at all. More than half the time she was doing these useless demonstrations, and the other half, she would repeat the two or three questions that she covered a few days ago. Then she do more demonstrations and do the very same three problems over again. There were no real notes, no homework, or no practice questions, so there were actually more questions on the test than anywhere else. I had so many bad professors in the science departments at TAMU, including a teacher that couldn't solve his own test questions correctly, ones that lied about what tests covered or how your grade would be calculated, and, worst of all, you would never give you points back even after the teacher admitted that his/her answer was wrong and your answer was correct.

This is what teaching should be like (I do it as well). Why: It's the infectious method that student's gravitate towards (fun) but more importantly...Remember!!!! In many commands in the Navy, I would check in and find the whole world I was resposible for...Was a nightmare! Not using the manuals at all! I made it a game (non punishment), all had to have manuals out at all times with a twist? I challenged them to "Stump the Sup!", if they could "find me in error" on ANY question via the manuals, I would buy them lunch, all day, everyday. It worked overwhelmingly :) They would scour those books. End result: They knew all the correct answers from then on, and for their next paygrade test's.

These are all standard demos that many high school physics teachers do. One advantage college professors have is that they have more and better equipment than we high school teachers do. I've been from any "explosive" type demos. What's even better is having the students figure out things on their own by having them do interesting lab activities rather than just showing them stuff, but of course, there are some things you wouldn't want students doing.
This Texas prof is doing a great job at bringing an interest in science to younger students. I taught basic electric circuit concepts to 4th grade students for a few year, but then the admin. made it stop.
