@@stephenchigwidden7504Mayu had a healthy baby boy around 27 November off the top of my head. It might have been the 22 of November. It wasn't just "windy," this was filmed in the face of an oncoming typhoon (the eastern version of a hurricane). They were literally being whipped around by the wind, and the temperature was near freezing. I think they said they were out there for about 14 hours straight in order to get the video knocked out before the storm hit in full force! This is one of the most beautifully-filmed videos I've ever seen (though "Rising" from Lovebites, and "Influencer" from Band-Maid come pretty close)!
Hey guys! You're just finding Nemophila? Ohhhh - we have such sights to show you! As I understand it, this band came about when the singer, Mayu, was leaving another group, so was considering a solo thing, so this group got together to support her. But it was realized that the talent in the room was SO HIGH that it'd be foolish not to make a go of it. That said, I feel there's a Holy Trinity of Japanese Girl Rock - Band-maid, Lovebites and Nemophila... all equally good, just different styles. Enjoy the journey! Rock on and Merry Christmas! 🤘😎👍
Almost all of Nemophila's songs have a fantastic mix of old sound with new sound. They are masters of it. The band SHOW-YA is a big influence for a LOT of Japanese Female Rock/Metal bands. Nemophila has shared the stage (multiple times) with and even performed a number of songs with members of SHOW-YA. Another major influence of the rise of Japanese women in Rock/Metal is due to their education system. Most Japanese students after school join either a sports club or an arts club, as you can only join one, with males tending to go to sports and women tending to go to the arts which of course includes music clubs. Once they join a club they rarely switch away.
Glad you have found Nemophila! Hugely talented humble female group with a varied catalogue of songs. This track may be confronting first up for some people, if so maybe try "Fighter" "raitei" or even emotional ballad "Life", a song with a great backstory. Still not convinced? Lots of great covers as well, Iron Maiden, Kiss, AC/DC etc. And the jewel in the crown, Minions "Banana song." 😉 Thanks for the reaction.
Great reacton video! You both do a great job to promote music! I saw a few your reaction videos! And this band is one of the best metal/rock bands today! I have read some of the comments and I totally agree with what others are saying. For sensitive souls, I would highly recommend the song Life! Life has a positive message and the soul of the band in this song. The song that best characterizes the band is the song Adabana! Adabana is a Japanese word and in philosophical terms it is a flower that grows but bears no fruit! Adabana is about these women and this band! But you can choose any song and you will perceive the originality and color of these women in all directions! Have a good day with my heartfelt greetings from Czech Republic 🙂.
nemophila is one of the fast rising new bands recently, their members are all from different bands, high level musicians and musical diversity are their characteristics, You can hear a different genre or element in each of their songs. Please check out《adabana》next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
🤯 Ginger's eyes 😆 Every song they do is different but hard rocking. Try Hypnosis, Style, Night Flight, Blooming, Adabana, Dissention ... they're all good!
This was filmed the day after a cyclone blew through - the "Making Of" is worth watching: ua-cam.com/video/CfrPOPPyYrs/v-deo.html - English translation is in the closed captions. It features the drummer's first child, lots of wind, and clothing designed for warmer weather!
*"Revive"* isn't the heaviest original metal song Nemophila *(Japanese pronounce it Knee Moe Fee La)* has done to date. New original (their second) comes out in a week. Singles released already from *"Seize the Fate"* are very heavy especially the title cut. Here's two suggestions you should play from Nemophila. One short cover & one beautiful uplifting ballad. *The Cover:* The song is called *The Banana Song.* It's from The Minions from the *"Despicable Me"* movie franchise. Song is actually a parody of The Beach Boys classic cover hit from the 1960's *"Barbara Ann".* *The Original:* The song is called *"Life".* It's not on Nemophila's channel but there's a video that has the lyrics on the screen. The sound is from the studio mix but the video is from a livestream (video during COVID lockdowns in Japan) show. Saki, a guitarist, read a statement welcoming back drummer Tamu Murata from her maternity leave after her second child was born during COVID. That the band was crying especially Tamu. Tamu knew this was a new original song. But didn't know it was dedicated to her daughter. Plus in the video. The band celebrates Hazuki's (the other guitarist who wears glasses & has her hair in a pony tail) birthday. Which was the same weekend when the livestream played. Look for the video that has the English subtitles. Will let you know about another *"Life"* video that has *"circled back"* when you react to *"Life".* Below is a chart how Nemophila sets up on most of their videos and playing live. *A* *B* *C* *D* *E* Nemophila: *A)* Tamu Murata - Drums / Backing Vocals *B)* Haragushi-san - Bass /Backing Vocals *C)* Saki - Guitar / Backing Vocals *D)* Hazuki - Guitar / Backing Vocals *E)* Mayu - Lead Vocals
About the comment regarding all the female talent in Japan. I think its because a lot of kids join music clubs in school and most of the equipment is provided so cost doesn't become a barrier if a kid wants to learn guitar or drums. A parent doesn't have to worry about investing $500-$1,000 in equipment to encourage their child's hobby. Girls also get encouragement from a popular festival called Naon on Yaon that was started by Keiko Terada. Her band Show-Ya is an OG Japanese all female metal band that's been around for over 30 years. The festival encourages young girls to explore music and it holds auditions for unknown groups to play as openers. Mayu, the singer for Nemophila, auditioned for the festival when she was younger, pre-Nemophila. She was struggling, trying to find her way in music and Keiko gave her some advice and encouragement. Later on, Mayu wrote the uplifting song "Life" based on her Naon experience (chasing dreams, being strong, overcoming; doubt, pain and rejection). Well years later Nemophila and Show-Ya are doing a co-show and in a duel interview the interviewer ask how well they know each other. Keiko says she knows Mayu in passing from the festival; at this point Nemophila has played Naon as a showcase performer in '21 and '22. There's a cool moment where Keiko talks about the song "Life" being her favorite song and how she cried both times she saw Nemophila perform it. Mayu then goes on to tell Keiko "Life" was influenced by her Naon auditioning experience and how Keiko's encouragement helped her forge on. The crazy part was Keiko couldn't remember this exact encounter; she came across so many young girls producing the festival. Who Mayu was finally dawns on her. Its a cool moment that circles back to Keiko's purpose for creating Naon. So in a roundabout way, that's why there's so much female talent in Japan lol. I'm sure if you continue your Nemophila journey you will eventually encounter the song "Life". The most popular performance is one where Tamu (drummer) has just returned after being absent for maternity leave. It's their first live performance of the song and to show Tamu how much she was missed, as well as their love and appreciation for her, the whole band plays the song in a semi-circle facing her drum set. Spoiler Alert; Lots Of Crying! lol. Well if you made it this far, sorry for the babble. I hope you continue your Nemophila journey because even with them being a new band, there's a lot of incredible content. Their music is so versatile, nothing is the same and everything is great. I know you're a reaction channel but it kinda sucks to have to be introduced to this band piecemeal. There is already so much great music in just two years, it would be impossible to catch up on all they have to offer that way, unless you did some kind of Nemophila marathon. Also, they're coming to the states soon and once you've heard a few more songs, your going to want to see them live (if you like concerts). That might be a hard decision if you're not caught up on the catalogue. Anyway, sorry. I'm done! Enjoy!!.
