I'd love to see a video of your absolute favorite brushes in 3 different price ranges. So your favorite super affordable brushes, your favorite mid range brushes, and your favorite luxury brushes! You could do like 10 brushes per price range or something like that. Just an idea 😊 Another idea would be a video of your most unique brushes, or what you would choose if you could only keep 25 brushes. 😊
Yes, please! Cause all my brushes are pretty much RT and or Ecotools. RT is just too shitty to keep buying, and so I need some better recommendations.
@@kaitlyngadd6613 oh, you're right!! She made two seperate videos about it. I watched both of them, too :') I still think a, "if I could only keep 20 brushes" video could be fun, though.
Love seeing your collection!!! I personally find that when I keep things around just because I paid a lot for them, they make me feel bad every time I look at them or think about them. Better to donate and let someone else feel good about them.
I completely agree - any brush that can't be stored upright in a pot irritates the shit out of me. I don't have space to lie brushes down in a drawer, and I certainly don't have time to rummage through them looking for the one that has the end I want.
I do!! Lol I keep my brushes in a large make up bag so double ended brushes never bother me BUT I can see it being an issue for those who have them placed upright
wishonamoonbeam yea but do you wash one side at a time , cause water is getting in to the other side when you turn it over... also cause you can't hang them upside down. And then laying them flat just makes me annoyed. ... it's like some one bragging they got a cake for you and when they come it's fruit cake and your like why and they are like but you get fruit along with cake and it was expensive.
The RT pointed foundation brush is good for face mask application. That’s all I can imagine using them for 🤷🏻♀️ for face masks, they’re actually pretty good because you can get into smaller areas
I don't know why watching you tell brushes to fuck off made me laugh so much, but I really needed a giggle today, so thanks. Also, my shopping list is massive now.
Tarte makes lovely brushes! I have that unicorn set and I agree that they are so soft and they clean really easily! I got a round setting powder brush from them on sale a few weeks ago and it's like being kissed by fluffy bunnies.
The perfect angled eyeliner brush is so hard to find. I have one that I bought at a drugstore when I was about 21 or 22 and I have never found a better one to this day. I'm now 49.
It’s so interesting to see what people like and don’t like. Especially with real techniques, while they are not the best brushes I find them quite nice . When watching there insta live videos and seeing how they use them it gives me major inspiration to use there brushes in different ways than maybe intended.
Idk... if you never are going to use brushes you think are shit, whats the point of keeping them around even if they were expensive? Maybe as decoration? 🤷🏼♀️ maybe donate them instead?
Yeah or sell them possibly? I know there are some websites to do that right? I hope at least she sets them aside so they're not cluttering up her good brushes.
She makes no sense at all. Project Beauty Share would actually put them to good use. She could sell them, but she hoards brushes and who knows what else. She must enjoy a lot of clutter around her home just because she paid for it at some point.
Really glad to hear your views on RT. I bought a few of their brushes due to the hype but was bitterly disappointed and kept wondering if I just bought the wrong ones ... yeah nah.
Gosh you’re so funny 😂 I love your review of the real technique brushes. Personally I only like the setting brush from the entire range. That is a good brush for everyday use
Lmao those real techniques brushes. I use the awful Concealer one to scratch off mascara when it gets on my face and nothing else because it's so rough.
the deluxe concealer brush from real techniques I have found may not work for actual concealer but it works AMAZING for applying an eyeshadow primer I actually really like them for that!!
Loved this video!!! I just decluttered two brushes from my collection last night (they kept leaving hairs all over my face) and recently hauled a few brushes (bh cosmetics 10 piece set) so this was so relatable to me I also love crown brushes and this video gave me a list of brushes to look into
Oh my gosh so excited for your unboxing!!!! Would love to see your fave brushes and a full face with haku hodo - am still working out my order since your how to video and would love to know your faves/recommendations!!!
I've been listening to your Konmari style declutters at work so I don't get bored out of my mind grinding and polishing samples. Interesting to see how different the are to this one. Happy to see a review of your collection at the same time. Came over here and Kat's channel afer discovering Beauty News :) Edit: nevermind, you became about just as ruthless as in your Konmari videos after a while x)
Hahahahah I actually surprised myself with this declutter, I knew I had quite a few brushes I didn't enjoy any more but I didn't realise it was this many. I will say I just filmed a haul that introduces 42 new brushes in to my collection though so I think the purge was good hahaha
@@HaileyO Looking forward to that video ;) Quick question: you've already got quite a few high end brushes and some that have lasted you literally years, how do you care for them so they stay good ? I've bought a few decent brushes but I'm afraid that by washing them the way I usually do I'll just destroy them...Thanks !
I'll try to remember to use it in some videos :) Basically you just deposit product on to the brush and drag it through your lashes like you would with a mascara wand, it gives a natural effect but is great for applying products that aren't actually mascara. I used it often for applying concealer to lashes (sounds weird I know, it was a photo shoot thing lol)
just got done watching this and the real technics brushes part i was dying laughing... your so funny!! i do own all the brushes you have as well and your so right about the brand.
I love that last morphe brush, that you got rid of, for packing eyeshadow close to my lower lash line :) I think it’s fantastic for just that.. otherwise it is a bit useless
"I hate double sided brushes, I'm going to keep these double ended brushes here. I hate tiny brushes, these are the tiny bushes I'm going to keep" omg that's my whole life thank you for the validation! sometimes I hate something but would hate losing it even more lol

Most people definitely can't afford or even want to spend $80 on a single brush! For me it' mostly about keeping what works really well, even if it's a $4 crown brush!
Just Buy The Makeup exactly! But I’ve seen so many youtubers keep the high end because they paid a lot. So for young girls starting out (or old girls renewing their love for makeup) they may feel cheaper brushes don’t cut it! Thanks for keeping it real! That’s why I love you and Kat so much! I am not being “sold to” if that makes sense? 💜💖💜
Have you tried any of the Real Techniques PowderBleu brushes? I got the B01 soft powder brush and it's sooo soft and just the shaped I wanted. I agree with their normal range though, it was good once but now it's meh.
Have you tried/considered the Real Techniques Powder Bleu collection? I was specifically interested in the powder puff (ha) and the eye brush. They say the bristles are made to mimic blue squirrel. But then I heard terrible reviews. But I'm always interested in your particular opinion.
Agree totally re Real Techniques. Sam and Nic are great MUAs and should strive for better quality brushes. I do use their very soft Powder Bleu brushes.
Have you tried Real Techniques POWDER BLEU line? They are nothing like those standard RT brushes, and I hate those!! :D But that Bleu brushes are outstanding, although a bit pricier. Btw, I'm so excited for the Japanese brush haul!
Oohhh, this speaks to my soul!! and, the thing about being a brush hoarder is they are an investment. They're never going to go bad, having multiples is fantastic in allowing for me having my 'everyday' brushes with a few options as well as my multiples for Halloween / SFX and I do enjoy having some as decoration and for kids to play with. Brushes are my least guilty pleasure in makeup.
I know this is an old video and I have no idea if you ended up getting rid of them, but those bold metal ones you despise...ai really wish you had just gotten rid of them with how much they seemed to make your blood boil. Plus they are just making it harder to find the brushes you do want to use/taking up space for brushes you do love.
I absolutely feel the same about Real Techniques and its evolution. Hardly any new ideas, just weirder and weirder handles with every release (the latest one has the ugliest handles ever imo). They DO have a collection with different bristles though: the "PowderBleu" one. Have you ever tried one of those brushes? I wanted to give them a try but shied away from the price. The white haired ZOEVA brushes are a mixture of goat and synthetic bristles btw.
Have you tried the Sonia G. brushes? I have bought a couple of their eyeshadow brushes a couple of months ago and I am really enjoying them, but I am curious to know how they compare to other brands. I have a pretty small collection and I would like to hear the opinion of someone who has an extensive collection!
I just stumbled across this video and old or not I had to comment. You are hilarious and I quite enjoyed this video. I’m a huge brush junkie and find it hard to part with any of them as well regardless of use. I also totally thought I was the only person that though Real Technique brushes were shit. Everyone raves about them and I just don’t get it. Price I guess. In the states they are super cheap. They put out the same shit over and over in a different packages and people go nuts for them. Go figure. Everyone needs to try high quality brushes. It matters. I would rather have a great brush set and cheap cosmetics if I had to choose. Luckily I don’t. Lol.
I hate double ended brushes! I only use them if I travel (maybe) and I keep mine in my locker at work in my remote stash bag for emergency makeup situations. I find they store well in those stupid brush stand folder things from Real Techniques, so I keep them in that. They are useless otherwise!
Oh god Real Techniques is spewing right now lmao I have a ridiculously small makeup brush collection & most are RT. I agree that they aren’t the best. I need to try that vegan line you were talking about!
I understand that the prices of those brushes that you dislike are expensive at your place, similar to my situation too here in Malaysia. However, i've figured that if i don't like it, it will be better to donate to women's shelter than keeping it in a storage/drawer when i don't even enjoy them. That's my thought, maybe it will help you more in getting rid of those you do not enjoy.
I’m the same way I have massive amounts of brushes for the reason of I hate cleaning my brushes so I have more to use until I need to clean them all 😂🙄
I need so declutter my brush collection so badly. I always end up using the same let’s say 30 brushes and the rest.... Nah. Ofc can’t get rid of all of the rest but there’s a lot of junk in there
Loved this so much I just dropped $200 on Ela Cosmetics brushes. 🙏 Tip: don’t throw out the stupid real techniques flat foundation / concealer brushes they are good for applying masks to your face.
I know this video is ancient, but here I am. Real Techniques brushes don't have a smooth cut in my experience, there are uneven hairs everywhere and it makes them so scratchy!!
Hi gorgeous, have you tried the bdellium tools golden triangle brushes? I heard good reviews from those who have tried them. I am very intrigued but they are not very very popular.
Bold Metals 300 is amazing, I've used mine to death - literally! I had to glue the handle back on to it! The rest of the range is pretty awful especially the eye and foundation brushes. I just can't figure out how those ever got released. I wish brands in general would stop putting out enormous thick angled brushes as eyeliner brushes or those big bushy things like Real Techniques call a fine liner brush. They just need to fucking stop. I have literally one good angled liner brush that came from a make-up brand and shockingly it's by Too Faced but they don't seem to make it any more. I am super precious about that brush. The closest I've found is by Zoeva but it's still thicker than the Too Faced one. Since I buy paintbrushes often I tend to look for sable watercolour brushes instead for a lot of uses.
Consider the Sigma E06 if you're ever in the market for more angled liner brushes, it's razor thin. However if you have large eyes it might annoy you because it's a small liner brush. I feel you though, it often surprises me how thick they are! As for sable paintbrushes for makeup, it's a great idea! When I was studying makeup one of my trainers had more paintbrushes in her kit than she did traditional makeup brushes, it fascinated me and I often browse art shops these days to see what they have to offer xx
Maybe you could get a vase with a bunch of those glass beads that match the Bold Metals brushes and put the beads and the brushes you dislike into the vase to just look pretty? That way they are still doing something without offending your delicate sensibilities! 😆⚱️
Zoeva used to have various animal hair brushes which had really versatile quality for each purpose, but a few years ago they changed all their animal hair brushes into one uniform mix of animal hair (i am sure it is goat hair) and synthetic bristles... such a shame! I have a few of the older version and prefere them a lot, even if they are slightly less soft....

Thanks for the recommendation x
I *love* my tarte unicorn brushes too, so effing soft and luscious
Me too!!!! They are beautiful too!!!
Brush porm!
can i have your decllure makeup brush
Maybe you could get a vase with a bunch of those glass beads that match the Bold Metals brushes and put the beads and the brushes you dislike into the vase to just look pretty? That way they are still doing something without offending your delicate sensibilities! 😆⚱️
Try the rt sculpting brusg for cream contour, or for foundation. It seems that that's what people like it for.
Or just get it the fuck out of your life, that's a good option too.
😂😂😂
New subbie here heard u swearing I was like yas my girl
Hahahaa, I have the light-colored-handle Real Techniques too, wink wink.
Oops, heh, I thought you might have gotten them from eBay like I did. I didn't realize Real Techniques ever made the light version.
Wow hailey you did great! And so happy you are donating :)
