Wanna hear a story from band? (This will be long) So it was the day before Christmas break, and our band room is in the highschool (I'm in middle school), so we were in band class, watching some Christmas movies, eating Christmas snacks, and then all of the sudden the announcer on the speaker says "Attention please! We are on lockdown, go to the closest room and hide. Thank you." I WAS SO SCARED. Once we were in the room (connected to to the band room) full of instruments, people around me said it was just a drill. I was still low-key scared. Once the announcer said we could come out, I was so scared. A few minutes after, the announcer says "We are still on soft lockdown, I repeat we are still on soft lockdown." Our band director said "Guys, don't panic, I will tell you anything I find out about." A few minutes later he read off of probably facebook, "There is a suspicious man wandering the streets of (insert location here)"- which is not far from where we were. -"and the police are trying to look for him." At that moment, I realized that the lockdown wasn't a drill. It was real. I also realized we were stuck in the high school. WE COULDN'T EVEN GO USE THE RESTROOM. Yeah, I missed an entire class period that day. I was scared to death!! Well, no math for meeeee!!!!
One time, at my high school, we had a lock down drill during 7th hour. (That was concert band). So us band folk hid in the locker room, and one of the kids from my section locked themself into a tuba locker Maybe that helps brighten things up a bit?
Ha.. I'm play the Viola in orchestra.. And my teacher said that "in 2 years, if you got into advanced orchestra, we might be able go to Disney land to play a part" and I was like.. "I want to stay but I also don't want because my back hurts from sitting up straight.. "

Hi I am a theatre kid. My 3 older siblings were in marching band. I’m in 6th grade band, I really enjoy it. I play flute, like my 2 older sisters. Now I wish I’d chosen percussion like my older brother. I want to be in marching band.

A Band: highest tier, marching band and concerts, consist of 8th graders and small amount of 7th graders. B Band: Second Tier. Consist of 6th graders who have played a instrument before and 7th graders who moved up here. Beginning Band: People who are learning a instrument, consist of every grade. Mostly 6th graders. I and my friend who are 6th graders get a free ticket to B Band. Percussion is a easy instrument and 6th graders want to play it quite alot. But it isn't allowed because then director/music teacher would have to play favorites. So no percussion in Beginning Band. How'd I get into B Band? Well my poor soul can't play a wind instrument. And I have a heart for percussion instruments. So Mr. Smoth ( that's his nickname) let me play percussion in B Band. I'm really passionate about what instruments I play. I play: Snare Drum (for practice, sleigh ride) Triangle (Midnight Mission) Crash Symbols (Midnight Mission) And if band can master sleigh ride fast enough we can play Midnight Madness which has me playing the Tambourine. I may have 5 notes that I play but it's honestly fun.

I play trumpet, and most of the time our section sucks. This year people know how to stay on time and actually control their volume. And, ya know, hit the right notes. It’s amazing.
So because we rehearse during Seminar the choir rehearses in the band room (I'm in band and choir) and me and one of the other band/choir kids (who's also one of the drum majors) have to tell the tenors and bases not to move the chairs or stands or they will face an army of pissed off band kids 😁
bro im not in marching yet, next year im in high school i already fricking march in step sometimes when i take a bathroom break in class and they still playing, if the tempo is too fast or slow i either step with every other/third note, or just double time it. i dont play percussion. i dont know why i do it. also i have been able to watch entire episodes of shows of anime or such in class because my instrument [tuba] has had to rest for as much as 23 measures (straight, not including the up to 8 measure rests inbetween)
