    Good review. I've ordered one today and decided to go for the ultra model.
    I want something economical to run and reliable.
    I previously had a 2015 swift which I always enjoyed.

      Thank you Paul, yes we loved our experience, impressive dynamics, and superb economy. We’ve always been a fan of Swift, a really fun yet relatively practical car. Which colour have you gone for?

      @@PlanetautoUK I've gone for the Frontier blue with black roof. I thought the two tone colour options looked quite smart!

      @paultaylor6326 yes they do, that will look very swish, our classic W124 is two tone, it’s great to see more two tone returning, enjoy- here’s to a speedy delivery.

    A very pleasant video to watch. You looked completely at ease in this car Ben, and weren’t scrunched up inside. Small cars have some amazing tech in them days, which I suppose some people won’t realise is there! Prices are now brutal across the board, and we are learning to live with them reluctantly!

      Thank you George, I really enjoyed it, I do love a Swift reminds us of our Golf, right handling etc - yes they do, and prices it’s the norm nowadays.

    I have the previous model SZ5 Mild Hybrid with 1.0L 3 cyl Boosterjet Engine which has 109bhp. Got to say very underwhelmed by the new model, it just looks liKe a facelift of my car. Slightly different at the front, and the tail lamps slightly different as well. Interior is almost identical apart from the larger infotainment screen. Overall the car is not that much different. The main disappointment is the engine only delivering a measly 81bhp, don't get me wrong I love my Swift, but to release a new model almost identical with a lesser powered engine that is so much slower is a backwards step by Suzuki.
    BTW having now had a test drive in the new model last week can confirm it is like a snail on valium compared to The 1.0 SZ5 Boosterjet Engine, I was actually shocked at how much slower it was. Again I absolutely love my current Swift as it has everything, but current owners will be massively put off by a ridiculous loss in performance of a so called new model,and many like myself will not purchase this 'clone' of the previous model with a woefully underpowered engine.

      It’s quicker than the equivalent but with no turbo it can’t possibly be as quick, a motor and a small hybrid system can only do so much, emissions are a massive part of cars having less power nowadays especially in the UK, as I explained on our review.

    Great review. Isn’t it amazing though how quickly we’ve adjusted to prices - to talk about a Suzuki supermini for a mere £19k is absurd. It’s not that long ago these would’ve been sub £10k! Madness

      Thank you Martha, I know, it’s crazy - mind it’s consistent across pretty much everything we buy nowadays, it’s a lot of fun this.

    Nice video, good fun to watch. Mine will be delivered this week with the following extra's; a piano black bodykit/wheelarches with 17 inch black rims, a pedalbox pro and a programmable button as a shortcut to disable ISA. Best for last is a Aqua turbocharger for this model but that hasn't arrived yet. It will be a proper fun but still affordable supermini.

      @@PlanetautoUK Will do 😊. I love tinkering with cars, and this model has much potential to be something really special because of it's 'simplistic' nature. A rare gem these days. BTW, the fact that the car shakes when just started but not on the road is because the engine is now supported by a fluid filled balance vibration system.

    I like it. But definitely not a replacement for the Swift Sport. That's what I'm holding out for. I hope Suzuki is listening and doesn't give up on the UK market as regards the Swift Sport.

      Handling wise it’s not far off, it’s just power that lacks, great manual, tight steering, dynamic ride.

    A good car ruined by its over development, in my opinion - too much technology = too much crap!!

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Місяць тому +1

      NCAP is the reason for a fair chunk of it the other is emissions in the UK, it’s an impressive little car that won’t break the bank Stan, not as quick as Sport but fun.

      @stanthesteelguitarman8228 Місяць тому +1

      Point taken - but I always liked the first version [2005-'10] best, though the lower emission . 2011 on [1.2 litre engine] was a further improvement. The black interior from 2017 thereon was the only further improvement for me! Yes, I agree, the Sport surely would be great to drive, although I've never had the pleasure!

      Yes, we liked that gen too, manufacturers have a challenge unless it’s full ev here sadly. Hopefully we’ll see a Sport in this gen.
