  • I tested my gliders on the same day. The 1.5m DLG flew in the morning and 1.15m flew afternoon.

Everyone has said it in the comments 👏👏👏👏👏 That was some great flying in what appeared light conditions 😎 Enjoyed watching very much, with envy 😁

Thank You for your comment! I just have to catch a very nice day, so I just have to choice that which day I will fly without any disaster because the hard wind. So it's a weather-dependent hobby as You said earlier too. I think that the heavier glider can catches thermals easier after a higher toss, and its wind manager ability is better.

I’ll repeat what’s obvious…. These are the best flying homebuilt dlg on the planet. Excellent piloting certainly helps too. :-)

OMG...You oblige, Master! However, there are long-time pilots here, I'm just learning from them. You are one of them! :)

Huh, is just me, or Peter is geting better and better and better ;)
    Great Peter!
And i know, i am alredy stupid boring ;)
I bet that will be very interesting if you give exactly measurements of 'everything' (how many, and model servos do you use, how is all conected, what battery...) of your DIY Hawk, it flyes amazing, and i know that many people will wanna to have, build one, just like yours!
Thank you Peter, it was real plesure to watch that flight. 👍

Thank You for your words! I can tell you anything that can help you build a similar glider. I am learning lots of info from "a filos" youtuber in the beginning too. I can only pass on his experiences and knowledge that he shared with me. For that I am very grateful to him.
Details of this glider: wings: foam core, covered with 25 g/m2 GF + epoxy resin, between 1x carbonstrips top and bottom (TOW TEX 1608) tails: foam core, covered with 25g/m2 GF + epoxy resin, between carbon strips (half TOW TEX 1608) LE: fiberglass tape covered the LE servos: 4PCS JX Servo D56MG 5.6g DS Digital Coreless MG Metal Gear Servo RX: FS2A 4CH 2.4G Afhds 2A 4CH PWM Mini Receiver 11X25mm (I use it with a Y connector, which I connect to the place of one of the servos, then I get a new place at the branch, so there is no need to solder to have the five places, 4 servo connections , 1 battery connection) lipo: 1s 600mAh wingspan: 1.15 m fuselage: carbon arrow shaft (OD~7,6mm; ID~6,4mm) Nose cone: PET bottle nosecone, formed from two half part PET with hot air gun on a wood template. AUW: ~200g

Definately getting it right. His models fly well and he flies them well. Definately a notable graduate of the RCG thread.

Thanks for your words, guys, but I'm just as passionate about these gliders as you are. Phil, you first piqued my interest in DLG construction when you cut foam core with a self-made tool in a forum thread. It was very inspiring and the effect has continued ever since.

@@goldenfish77 Oh yes it is a great foam cutter! I noticed you said your not using the thermal mode in your video - why not?

@@bracesport I used it after some flights, I just wonder how can the airfoil works in this weather condition without any chamber. Because it is a nice airfoil for the "sail planes", for "just gliding". I liked when You said in Your video: "It is just gliding." ;) OMG, that Your BAMF had very nice flights!

What is the weight on the 1.2m you built please?
