I've watched this video so many times these last years. Sounds so fresh everytime, so gracious. Manuel is so perfect and with him every man and woman he meets. Pure perfection from the beginning to the end.
Yeah that was a pretty darn good episode. He's really good and his communication style comes off as very genuine and fluent.

Tips for beginners:
I still don't have the skills to understand everything he says, but I'm doing something which has been helping me a lot. Altough I can't understand just by hearing, my reading is fine, so I simply write everything he says (by reading the german subtitles), and try to figure it out by my self. After I've finished this, I rewatch the video to get the pronounciation. That's been helping me a lot. It looks stupid and obvious, but for beginners, just like me, it's something interesting to do, because I'm learning a lot of vocabulary.
I thought I was the only one had the same idea... ^^

I do that all the time, it's the fastest way to learn for me
thanks for tips, I am doing the same... I find writing various sentences of what I trying to learn on a word processing doc on the computer and saying it out loud works better then hand writing. hand writing is so slow compared to the speed of your mind...

The two girls playing the harp and the violin were so calming in their manner and voice. I could watch that part of the video numerous times. It's heartbreaking that I will never get to meet them in person, listen to their music, or simply hear them speak.

This is very well put together, especially for Intermediate level. Manuel has such a great skill with people and great diction. The theme is very familiar, and the subtitles are great for practicing grammar. Ganz toll! Danke sehr; I'll be using this a lot I can tell.

Ich helfe heutzutage meiner Frau, die fast jeden Tag Vorstellungsgespräche hat. Bei uns zu Hause gibt"s dicke Luft, weil sie ziemlich stressig ist. Andererseits habe ich diese Woche frei wegen der Herbstferien, leider muss ich zu Hause bleiben. Gott sei Dank, dass wir zwei Katzen haben, die mein größtes Hobby sind. Ich kümmere mich jeden Tag die Katzen besser gesagt meine feline Freunde. Sie sind mein all Hab und Gut.
Ich versuche meine Deutschkentnisse zu verbesseren und ich danke Ihnen für diese tolle Video :)

The Dutch girl is really pretty. It's so cool how a lot of Europeans are multilingual. Here in America mostly everybody only speaks English.

But this effect doesn´t hapen just in USA in United Kingdom is the same and they say it is because they speak english already so they are not force to learn other lenguage, like the resto of the world who have other lenguage by mother tonge, the average of europeans speak at least two lenguages, their native lenguage and english, but depending of the people and the country they are able to speak more, just in Swiss for exaple there are four official lenguages.
Ah! btw just today I read about the problem that exist in Miami about the risk to lose Spanish like second lenguage, and it is because there is not enough support by educatonal autorities, and the risk that is lose this lenguage a posteriori in one of most bilingual cities in the US.
510oaklandca I think you're just talking about USA. In Mexico, for example, some people can still talking their indigenous language ;)

I totally agree with neanderstln, Manual Salmann is a great interviewer. He truly engages in his conversations and gives eye contact, smiles, quick to respond but listens to the interviewee. He's very personable, I like that a lot! I've only been able to find two of his videos, I've been wondering if he's ever made videos with his new camera (congrats btw :D) I'm happy that he won, well deserved!
