I was hoping that spider would get a character growth arc and I’m happy it happened and I love how miss gets more screen time too 😭😭

I think Spider is the way he is because of how his mom is raising him and how Amerie rejected him in season 1 (no hate to her though). But I liked how he got a redemption arch this season and I really like him and Missy together. Also great edit btw!

yeah he clearly had no good male role models and his only understanding of masculinity was given to him by his mom who villainized it to hell it’s so awful like no wonder he wanted to create a space for it and looked up to voss

Spencer not liking Amerie is completely understandable, she literally used him and threw him out like a used toy. I’m glad she’s becoming a better person but she was incredibly shitty for that. I just love Spencer and Missy together. They work and she actually cares about his feelings and what he has to say unlike everyone else

i feel like spider got treated badly from both his mother and school which made so much more sense as to why he was the way he was but deep down he was too afraid to do anything with any girl cause of how he was being told hoe "evil all men are and everything" it would have really ruined him badly and I'm happy he finally found missy to relax and enjoy something without being worried of anything else, missy really did help him become more relaxed and open. it would have been hard not being relaxed in ur own home and yet also school making everything a male hating person that would have really hurt him, but missy is a fighter and I'm glad he ended up with her

It appears she'll be redeemed after helping Quinni figure out that Rowan's bird psycho- she knew Quinni was passionate about the case so Sasha could've helped to make up for being a shit girlfriend. It doesn't make what Sasha did ok and I don't want Quinni to go back to her but maybe she'll be less selfish

am i the only person who thought their relationship felt really forced? i didn't hate them but it felt really forced on the writer's behalf, most likely because they wanted to avoid Spider and Amerie getting together. amazing edit by the way !

Hard disagree, it's a typical enemies to lovers trope and the build up was great
In my opinion, the Amerie x Spider plot was the one that felt more forced because it just popped up at the very end as a flashback from the festival. Harper suddenly confronting Spider that he's been inlove with A for years don't hold much weight considering he never made a move until that time. Amerie shaming him for not getting it up when he's clearly intoxicated + that leading to Harper having to go back home to his crackhead father felt like there's nothing to redeem from there.
If anything, I think S1 hints that Spider has a type (i.e. dark-haired poc girls) and the writers did a good job in building up the tension with Missy in each episode
