    What is Hemophilia?
Hemophilia is a genetic disorder that affects the blood's ability to clot, meaning that people with Hemophilia experience prolonged bleeding episodes, both internally and externally. It is caused by a deficiency in certain clotting factors, which are essential proteins that help the body's blood to clot and stop bleeding.
    Types of Hemophilia
There are two main types of Hemophilia, Type A and Type B, which are categorized based on the deficiency of different clotting factors. Type A is the most common form of Hemophilia and is caused by a deficiency in clotting factor VIII, while Type B is caused by a deficiency in clotting factor IX.
What are the symptoms of Hemophilia?
The most common symptom is prolonged bleeding after an injury or surgery. People with Hemophilia may also experience spontaneous bleeding into joints, muscles, and other soft tissues. Other symptoms may include easy bruising, nosebleeds, and bleeding from the mouth or gums.
Hemophilia is a genetic disorder, meaning it is inherited from a person's parents. It mostly affects males, as the gene for Hemophilia is carried on the X chromosome. Females can also be carriers of the gene and may pass it on to their children.
    How Hemophilia can be managed?
The main form of treatment for Hemophilia is through replacement therapy, where the missing clotting factor is infused into the person's bloodstream. This helps the blood to clot and prevents excessive bleeding. The frequency and dosage of this therapy may vary depending on the severity of the Hemophilia.
Apart from replacement therapy, people with Hemophilia are also advised to make lifestyle changes, such as avoiding activities that may cause injury and participating in low-impact exercises to improve muscle strength and joint stability. It is also crucial for people with Hemophilia to have a balanced and healthy diet to maintain overall health.
