I have no preference for Wacken '13 or Tampere, they're both no1 for me. Buenos Aires '18 has also epic moments (Dead Boys Poem, Slayin the dreamer). It's impossible for me to pic a favourite.
it's hard to pick between Wacken 2013 and Tampere 2015. Show you shouldn't! Just watch both :D. Nightwish has a crazy catalogue of songs that are top drawer. Any other band would be feeding themselves off of Poet and the Pendulum, yet Nightwish haven't played it live in about 5 years I think.
For me Wacken is #1. It’s perfect in every way, the set list, the crowd, the energy, chemistry and fun the band has. And you can see how happy they are with Floor, like a big weight has lifted off their shoulders. As for recommendations: Bless The Child and Last Ride Of The Day at Wacken, Dead Boys Poem, 10th Man Down, The Kinslayer, and Slaying The Dreamer at BA, My Walden, While Your Lips Are Still Red and Alpenglow at Wembley. I apologise if I mentioned songs you have already done. There are so many wonderful Nightwish songs! Enjoy the rest of your NW journey 😊
The Last Sled and A Lifetime of Adventure. from the Scrooge album by Tuomas. Fight Goes On by floor (The War Child). P.S. yep, The Tampere gig was insanely good!
Boys - if you listen to the live album (rather than watch the DVD) of the Wacken show, you can see why it's so special. It was Floor's biggest Nightwish performance at that time - although she'd played Wacken before. There's little subtleties that the visual show doesn't pick up. You really feel like you're there. I cried last time I played it! 😄 Of course, Tampere is special because it is a home gig. But then the Vehicle Of Spirit show at Wembley is absolutely blinding too. You simply can't lose with them.
Wacken had about 80k people, Tampere somewhere 20K - though in the daytime you can see the thousands of people better. So deep in the summer Finland gets about one hour darkness, and even then the northern horizon shows glare, the sun is not far below and starts to rise soo, midsummer it's between 2-3 o'clock am, like the sunset was between 23-24. The clock is in summer time, otherwise the darkest hour would be at the midnight. In the northernmost Finland at the polar circle in Lapland the sun only touches the horizon and rises again. In the northernmost tip of Finland deeper in the Arctic, the sun doesn't set for a month, it just goes near the horizon. Well, the winter it's the opposite: though at the sunrises and sunsets the sun under the horizon gives some light, and they take longer time this far north than in UK, not to speak about equator. So the winter darkness is slightly shorter than the summer brightness.
Tampere is more of a spectacle, because it is on their home turf where they are the most popular band, plus the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful had come out, so they added The Greatest Show on Earth and this being open air and their stage, they could do whatever they could summon in their minds, which I don't think you can necessarily do at Wacken, as the stage is used by multiple bands and there is a village nearby. But the reason I recommend Wacken is, because it has the best audio mix and has a more approachable selection of songs, as it is tailored for the festival crowd and not specific to Nightwish fan, so I think easier to get people into Nightwish in my opinion. Even Wembley to me as better audio, but is not as grand.
The 3 concerts for best viewing are Wacken, Tampere, and Wembly. Barona Arena is also good, and Rock in Rio was filmed so well, but mixed so poorly. Buenos Aires is really good, but they should have had a camera for more audience close ups, especially with that incredible crowd. The Cruise ship is okay.
Well, Nightwish . . . . what can I say 😉. Perhaps you can find a reaction spot for someone who's also Dutch. Please react to these TOP VARIETY OF MANY MUSICAL INTRUMENTS/SINGERS: The Source is the 9th studio album from AYREON (pron. Airrion), a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. is a song that features all 11 (well known) main guest singers [James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Tommy Karevik (Kamelot, Seventh Wonder), Tommy Rogers (Between the Buried and Me) , Simone Simons (Epica), Nils K. Rue (Pagan's Mind), Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Mike Mills (ToeHider), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Michael Eriksen (Circus Maximus), Floor Jansen (Nightwish)] and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by what standards. Btw. The clip is 13 min. Long and I think you won’t regret it !! Reason why some songs were not played so long time was that (i'm so sorry!!! Really I am!!!) Anette was no unable to do so complicated songs and sing such high notes ..., Tuomas understood that and made more suitable songs for her...Anette is good singer, but not for the Nightwish..., Nightwish is another level of music and another level of live perfomance...
This is an old song from the Tarja's era. I love Floor immensely, but i think that she wasn't the right singer for this. It's good, but the dark operatic tones are not the Floor's "thing". There are loads of songs where Floor is best of the world. Please don't kill me, all of this is stricktly IMHO. 😔
Completely agree. Floor was doing this for the fans. I never liked it when Tarja cranked up that heavy operatic vibrato, so I certainly won't like it Floor when does the same. I respect her willingness to dredge up her operatic training for the fans, but I'll give this one a pass.
@@Piia2023 Of course it's goooood, but i think it's a little out of our so beloved Floor's field. As i sayed before, don't behead me if feel a little so. 😔
My Queen whom I serve
If you guys want to see the real bad ass side of Floor, try 'Revamp - Disdain, live at Graspop'. Floor's own band before she joined Nightwish.
Wacken was the first 'big' performance with Floor and the band was very happy.... Wembley is good too as are Tampere and Buenos Aires.
Proud to have been one of the lucky one to be there 🤘
Awesome 😊👍... Kev
Get ya VR headset on flying through space at high speed listening to this is Epic!!

@Patrick Wieland As is Dark Chest Of Wonders at Wacken. 💥😉
Yeah and Poet and the pendulum was at Wembley
Yap this Tampere concert is better in my opinnion :P And I was also there!
A great memory for you!.... Kev
"A life time of adventure" from "The life and times of Scrooge McDuck".
And then "The Last Sled"♥️
Featuring Tuomas's wife Johanna Kurkela ☺
Tampere was very special as well. This was kind of a homecoming song for the band towards the end of their long tour. Great job again men! Peace.
An oldie but a goodie reinvigorated by Floor and Tuomas' latest "machinations"! Nightwish definitely give their fans their moneys' worth!
The Life and times of Scrooge Mcduck 🇧🇻

Kai Hahto is a machine on the drums.
I missed you two, I love you two , Yes I am drunk 👀🎶🐱👤
Lol 😀❤️-dave
The reason they hadn't been performing Stargazer in years was simply because their previous "singer" couldn't sing it.
Listen Kai Hahto´s drums! Rock rock!
Weak fantasy tampare is my favourite 😆😆

You will not see a bad concert from NightWish. Wacken is a great starting point but there is so much more to come ;)

Please look back to the beginning of this video and listen carefully how Floor pronounces ‘Tampere’. And from now on use the correct pronounciation! 😉
Ooopps 🤣 I blame Kev lol - dave
Very good version, but I still think Tarja nailed it better
👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟🇱🇺
Four vikings and a Valkeyre on one stage. What more does one need? I guess nothing.
I prefer the original version with Tarja. But this one is a great performance.
I would recommend checking out Tarja's version, if I may. This one is pretty good, though!
