My mom speaks not one word in English yet she every time she comes to my house she says “ponme al Moreno que reacciona las canciones” lmfao!! She loves Jamel
Growing up in a mixed (Black and Hispanic) urban community in Texas you would hear this song loud as hell and the men would be drinking straight Tequila and crying. I fell in love with his entire voice and aesthetic as a kid.
I was a teen Rock and Roll White Boy when I first heard this and I knew I was in the presence of a MASTER! I started to listen to the songs that floated over the Border Lands and I became a Chente lover and Juan Gabriel and Los Tigres too! Music IS universal!
WE HISPANICS LOVE JAMEL!👋🏼 THANKS FOR REACTING TO OUR MUSIC AND IM NOT EVEN MEXICAN IM PUERTORICAN THE GREATEST ARTIST ARE FROM MEXICO, MY FAVORITE IS JUAN GABRIEL.
Had to come back to this video that I’ve seen a billion times to pay respect to a Hispanic icon!!!!!! Even tho I’m Puerto Rican, this man will live forever in our hearts!!!!!!! R.i.p. doñ chente!!!!! 🤧💔🤴🏻🐐🙏🏻🕊 #MusicJunkie
My grandma just showed up outta nowhere because her “husband” is singing lol. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would see a UA-cam reactor do this song. Props my man.
I had to come back to your reaction on this sad, sad day for my community. You get it Jamel…..God Bless you for that, and the respect. Vicente “Chente” was the soul of Mexico. RIP, sweet prince.
I have never ever once in my 56 years on this earth have seen my mom listen to this song and NOT cry. All of her brothers and sisters cry. This is a beautiful song
Diego Trejo tienes razon. Ya que lo pienso como mariachi vargas de tecalitlan. Pero a de ser una version de mariachi... mismos instrumentos nomas q es mas lento con mas detalle. Y aparte eres mi tocallo🤘🏻 me llamo diego
I just clicked on this reaction... My dad used to listen to Vicente Fernandez when I was younger but I really never paid attention to Mexican music. I was too much into rock n roll. But Wow! This man could sing. Now that I'm older I've learned to appreciate Mexican music....Thanks.
Hi Brother Jamel, I wanted to share my Story with You, I grew up in Los Angeles , California .. and when I was in my youth about 5/6 years ( early 70's ) old My Mom took me to My First Concert / Live Performance ever and It was Vicente Fernandez. It was at The Famous Million Dollar Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. First We would Go To another Los Angeles Landmark Cliftons Restaurant then the Theater. And when I had seen Vicente as a Child I was Shocked By the Power of his Voice. If you noticed where he positions the microphone when he hits the high notes it's by his Stomach area. ( The only other person I know to do that was The Legend of Marvin Gaye but that was English and Another Story ) The mariachi was about 20+ strong so you can imagine how Beautiful it sounded Live. The horn section was Incredible. After seeing him I became a Musician myself by the age of 8 and still at the age of 56 I'm still performing. He left His Footprint in Millions of People around the World , Now that he's gone his Legacy Lives on Forever. RIP Vicente " Chente " Fernandez Gomez .. Thanks for the Video, God Bless Brother .. DjStevie InDaMiX
Gracias soy de El Salvador 🇸🇻 pero mi Madrecita que está en el cielo le gustaba mucho su música . Tuve la oportunidad de verlo en un concierto aquí en San Francisco California. Thanks for the video my friend . Great reaction 😎👍🍺🥃🍻🎉✨✨✨🎇
I grew up listening to Vicente Fernandez I’m 40 years old now and I see lil young men in their teens still get down to his music he is a living legend music is a beautiful thing it lives on forever and Vicente is immortal
I was at a party everyone was singing karaoke, when I started singing this song everyone at the party was blown away. They never expected me to sing Vicente because I usually sing other types of music. Since then that's what everyone wants me to sing. Not that I'm that good but I think it's because this music makes people feel good.
Thank you so much for reacting to "CHENTE", Jamal, you made me smile, cry, and remember a favorite beautiful moment of my Mama. She swears "Chente" blew her a kiss at a concert she went to in OKC. She screamed his name in a rare moment of silence at his concert, and he blew her the kiss. She says she reached up and grabbed it and put it on her heart! She would swoon every time she told that story! My sister bought her the tickets for her birthday and says every bit of the story was true. My sister had mariachis come and sing Volver, Volver when she passed away. I can't listen to this song now without bawling my eyes out. But I still listen to it.
If we all took a little bit of time to learn other cultures we would be a better world and we would have a lot of fun 🥳‼️thanks for enjoying our music 🇲🇽 .
RIP Vicente Fernandez, a true legend, the Mexican King of Ranchero music, his voice and talent is unmatched, no one can ever take his place, thanks for appreciating our music and culture ❤
I love how no matter where you are when Vicente plays you grab a drink and raise your cup! I remember being at a conference with non Hispanic friends and how they responded when the Mariachis played Volver we all turned towards the mariachis with drinks in hand and sang along ... hope that made sense
Loving all of your reactions and appreciation for Spanish music and artists. I saw Vicente Fernandez several times he is truly one of a kind. No need for a microphone his voice is powerful
It's also a great way to find your Mexican companero if they wander off drunk at a party or something. Just belt out Y VOLVER VOLVER, and wait for the third one, it comes every time!
Our parents introduced us to this legend. Mexicans love getting together as a family to eat, drink and sing these ranchers and ballads. Now we teach our children...love it! Glad you enjoyed it
Your the reason I WATCH UA-cam! Those reactions are priceless. Its awsome that you see and hear from every other musical talent that this world gives us. No matter the barriers, countries or languages. Keep up the good work.
I really want to thank you Sir for having the mindset of experiencing something that is outside of your understanding and taking the time to understand it as well as appropriate it. This world should take what you do as an example. If we all just step out of our realm of understanding and make a conscientious effort to try and understand people from their point of view then this world would be a beautiful place to live in.

I absolutely LOVE your channel! LOVE Mr. Vicente Fernandez... LOVE this song.. This is music you listen to when you're happy, sad, heartbroken, etc.... great music to listen to and get drunk to.... and I don't drink.. haha
Hey Jamal, Love your channel you are truly beautiful inspiration to all, you do not discriminate to any genre, will continue to see at lot more of you, thanks
Yup, what he’s saying basically is he gives in. He’s done playing games, he lost (she won) and he wants to return (to her). This is why every Mexican man drinks and cries with this song. Reminds them of what screw ups they are when it comes to love lol, jk, but for real tho.
love listening to it except as a kid on Saturday mornings, vicente and los bukis and bronco and selena early on a Saturday morning meant all day cleaning to Mexican American kids, I still have ptsd
Ohhhh Maann!! LoL!! Wowwww. Who Requested THIS!!? Okay Ya'll this is how the story goes... My mother, half Spanard and half Sicilian (European) My father Native-Amarican, both liked this guy and his singing. Lol I've got quite a mixture of blood in me. LoL! My Mother... LOVED this song. She loved this guy, the way he sang. Now listen, I came from a mixture of a whole lot of genres of music. Old timey blues, country, soul, classic rock, my own Native American music and Yes Mexican. So! This guy was coming to our town in a parade and I was just maybe 3yrs old. So my parents made sure that they were gonna be at the front-lines of this parade for one reason. That's Right! To see this guy up close and listen to him sing. Now, my mother was holding me cause my father wanted to' in hopes Shake this man's hand. But What Surprised Them Both when he came clomping along on one of his horses all decked out in his Mexican outfit all glittery and a big sombrero hat like in this video... He saw my parents and indeed he did give my father a handshake. But what he did next... He reached down to my mother's arms where I was and took me from her arms and rode me around in a small circle in front of my parents in this parade and placed me back in my mother's arms. He told her that I was the prettiest baby he had ever seen and that my little lace dress was an even match. Whaaat!! My mother and father apparently we're in shock. I guess I was too cause my mother said I didn't even cry. It was almost as if I already knew the man. My mother and father had a story to tell about this singer. How friendly he was and how genuine his soul was for loving people and music. Woww! I heard this and it brought tears to my eyes. Both my parents have passed on long ago and this was quite a treat. But even moreso was to see your reaction and your genuine love and opened mind for such music. Whew!! Good One yes indeed.♥️♥️♥️
My Beautiful passed away two days after my birthday one day after Christmas how cruel can the World be but we played Volv'ed volved on her slide show, unbelievably Beautiful 😍 💔 unforgettable 💔 ❤ ♥ 😢 💙

It's truly amazing how he can convey the sadness and desperation that this song talks about and still hit those notes! A true legend.
All his songs are the best songs to cry over a lost love, get drunk, and move on in the morning.
