Ima have to check yall on that The only true land of Mariachis is Tecalitlan Jalisco Vicente Fernandez says it in many songs giving Tecalitlan credit for having the best mariachis
@@snugzillal y donde es la cuna del mariachi,? perdón? exacto, de Cocula es el mariachi y ¿de donde son los sones? exacto , de Tecalitlán!!!! no te confundas pelao!!! Greetings though!!!!
The translation that you read is quite poor. The song "El Rey" / "The King", is of someone who no matter how he is doing in life, he has supreme confidence on himself and quite a big ego. The lyrics meaning this by stating "With money or without money, I always get my way, and my word is final". It follows with "I know that I'm outside (not in your home/heart?), but the day that I die, I know you'll cry. You'll say that you didn't love, but you will be sorrowful, and that's how you'll stay", and it summarizes it all with "I may not have a throne or a queen, or no one to understand me/follow me, but I'm still the King". That's the reason for Vicente Fernandez's posture throughout the song. He is interpreting this overconfident character, of course, using his overpowering voice and showing off by pulling the micro away from him gives more credit to his interpretation, and intertwines the character and the interpreter's personalities. Doing less than this wouldn't match the song''s lyrics. BTW, by all accounts, Vicente Fernandez has usually been characterized as a very down-to-earth and humble person. He used to allow his fans to tour his ranch/house in the western part of Mexico and even receiving them personally.
Another fun fact still is accepting and allowing people to his ranch he has one in sonora where my cousin went to visit and he let them in took pictures and even sang a bit! Such a Down to earth man, siempre será el rey
Fun fact: Song originally written by José Alfredo Jimenez from Guanajuato while drunk on his toilet seat. 😂 I heard story told by a tour guide in the José Alfredo Jimenez museum located in his birth town.
TRUE! A lot of his songs were written for him, but that's because the writers knew he would make the song come alive. Juan Gabriel was one of the best writers out there as well
Hola Rebecca! He's one of the best singers in the "Ranchera" or "Mariachi" music in Mexico.. And something you mentioned about how he is portraying emotions while singing... that I can say is one of the main keys to perform this music.. You have to show a lot of emotions to sing as it should be.. thanks for the video and see you in the next one!!
not just that but this song is about unabashed machismo so he has to act it as well. Using a mix of power poses resembling Spanish matadors and 19th century vaqueros. Body language is just as important in Mariachi and Ranchera as the voice. (luckily for us Mexicans we have a rich history of some fantastic world class singers) If anyone is interested in more artists: Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, Lola Beltran (for sure Dona Lola is you want to hear a vocal powerhouse), and Pepe Aguilar are some of my favorites.
@@darwinzunigamedina9810 NO!!!!!! By no means she's not the queen of rancheras mi amigo. Where do you leave the ladies of the 50s and 70s singing rancheras like Lola Beltran? This tells me you were born in the 80s or 90s and have no clue of the history of Mexican music!
So true! I have been seeing a lot of these reaction vids of our music by English speakers. Whether it's Juan Gabriel, Julio Jaramillo, Rocío Durcal, José José, ángela Carrasco, or hell, even Maná, they always remark on the emotion in it. I always chuckle to myself when it happens. Honestly, God as my witness, if they don't sing with that passion and emotion, they don't get anywhere with us. That goes for all Spanish music. The Italians and the Brazilians get it which is why their cross over music hits hard with us for years. (Our artists do it too with their pop scene.) Everybody knows Roberto Carlos, Laura Pausini Jose Augusto and Eros Ramasoti. A lot of the Americans don't get it which is why their crossover music only hits for a season with us.
He doesn’t need a mic I went to of his concerts the convention center cut the mic on him because he was giving a show longer then they expected. He sang for 3 and half hrs they had cut the mic on him during the 2nd hr. Best concert ever!

Legend. Awesome. One of the greatest Mexican singers of any age. MUCHAS GRACIAS Rebecca for reacting to this unbelievable singer!!!
Holaaaa, eres la mejor😉😉😉👍👍👍 y la mas hermosa❤❤❤❤❤
He just turned 80! Started out singing for drinks and tips in bars around Guadalajara. I heard him sing in a large arena. He dropped the mic to his side and you could hardly tell the difference. There will never be another Vicente Fernandez!
Ah yes, this national treasure. Not a Mexican alive that doesn't love this banger.
Legendary tier performer/singer. Absolute icon.
Rebecca: This song is so short
Mexican men: let’s make it our anthem 😈
You say all the right thing and your judgment on this. Is spot on. Love you
“El pastor” o “malagueña” de Miguel Aceves Mejía
Thank you! Vicente Fernandez is a powerful singer and so is his son, I know myself and others would love for you to react to more from them. Bless you
Even when being translated to English it makes more sense in Spanish , almost impossible to make it sound right in English
Vicente Fernandez is the Mexican Pavarotti . I Saw him twice in concert and his voice fills the stadium while he is riding a horse. Awesome memories!
Wow sooo early
Please react to taylor momsen best live vocals
And also to the songs: heaven knows, my medicine, follow me down
Right now she's already 26 :)

She wasn't ready
He is the ultimate macho men, a gentleman and a "Charro"
One of the greatest pleasures in my life has been seeing this man live. What a legend.
Girl, the fact that you don’t have a reaction video for his son Alejandro Fernandez is grounds for immediate cancellation of your channel (kidding). But his son is definitely a better singer and such a powerhouse. Ask Beyoncé, Marc Anthony, Placido Domingo and others about him. He’s a BEAST! Check out his cover of the song “Granada” live.
Alejandro is better than Vicente? Jajajaja is a joke, right?
@@joselsepulveda89 He was a little better than V.F during a quite short period of time but no more.
The king definitely didn’t need a mic. RIP Vicente Fernández 😢
True fact: listening to Chente causes big bottles of tequila apear in your hand..
El Señor Vicente Fernandez..... The best Marichi singer in the whole world.
How did I miss this.
This song hits different since my buddy Pancho passed away. He will always be the local el rey
I cry every time I hear Vicente brings back memories of my grandpa
