A year ago, in August, there was a question about releation of varicosele between veins in very important exam for Medicine students in Turkey. You are great, Sam Webster. Thanks for all of your videos.
I might have became a doctor if I had someone like you with your energy and models. I have watched several videos and you made it make sense. They noted right heart failure on one of my tests and I had no idea what they were talking about until now. Thank you!
Re min 03:20: Blood from the lungs -- bronchial veins -- eventually reaches the superior vena cava (SVC) on its way to the heart's right atrium. The right bronchial vein drains into the azygos vein, which empties into the SVC. The left bronchial vein drains into either the accessory hemiazygos vein or the left superior intercostal vein, which also ultimately connect to the SVC.
Thank you so much! I really like your teaching style and clear demonstrations. (I also just bought your app in the app store. I'm looking forward to my daily random anatomy question. I love things like that! )
to prevent the fetus from compressing the inferior vena cava, which can cause supine hypotensive syndrome. simply; reduced blood flow to mother = less oxygen and nutrients to fetus, and increased risk of shock to the mother.
Hello, I was involved in an vehicle accident where I was rear ended, I've been having pain (on and off) on my neck, shoulders and chest for about 5 years, I'm trying to do my own research as I've been to the doctors many times with no positive outcomes, do you think maybe one of these veins/arteries may be pinched causing this pain? Thanking you in advance for your time!
Hi, - first, I apologize for the lengthiness, here. I have just been informed that I have a double superior vena cava with a left-sided superior vena cava. Had a micro clot throw in L subclavian artery(s) in Nov 2022. in turn threw piece to L hand causing 4 fingers to be getting necrotic in short time. Only just got results fm my follow up CT recently, w the blood clot cleared, but w this new info. (my I have to find the CT of November! Why didn’t I know of this). Anyway, i can’t find hardly anything on UA-cam about this. Certainly no nice anatomy lessons, like you give (which are so easy to see, helps a lot btw). The net says it’s congenital, and 3 % of population. But I can’t find anything that educates me, if I should be worried abo it or not. (I’m sedentary, and heavy. Have been for very long time.😞). My dr [to be very blunt] didn’t say much about it. Forgive me, but could you please tell me anything about this? Does it necessarily mean I will have a heart attack? What is the history of most people (well, of these 3 % of the population) who have this. I am 62 years old. Thank you.
I've been having severe pain in my abdomen that radiates to my back especially when laying down, fatty liver, I don't drink or I'm not over weight, pain on my left side neck, pain in my legs with varicose veins and dizziness, heavy periods are regular, iron deficiency, headaches and I've been waking up every morning at 3ish, I had a blood clot during covid but medicine made it disintegrate! Testing after testing nothing is "wrong" they say, so I started researching this after thinking I might have Enlohs Danlos syndrome, not sure on the spelling any idea of testing I could ask for to check from my doctor/specialist? 43 yo female any suggestions are appreciated!!
I’d like to know more how the vena cava is affected from an enlarged uterus with endometriosis and fibroids. My Gyn said my uterus is pressing on my ureter causing my kidney infections. I also have water retention and POTS. I’m hoping after my hysterectomy that I’ll feel better and that these symptoms will resolve. Thank you for a great presentation.

There is not better, the superior vena cava, take blood the superior organs: head, arms, stomach, etc, the inferior bring circulation to inferior limbs and organs, in a sense it one vain that work in two side of the body, that why it called inferior and superior.
You take pain to make people understand the subject and this pays back you. I see people showering respect on you.

I still don't get why the superior vena cava is so great. What makes it better than the inferior vena cava?
👍👌❤️
Bit like looking under a car bonnet… 👍🏼😂
I need your dummy ..🙄 litterly 😅
Checking ?? 😂😂😂😂
So what's so superior about the superior vena cava? I don't get what makes it so much better than the inferior vena cava.
