    My wife is 5+ months pregant and PLSVC found during Anomaly scan. Except PLSVC, all the other things are fine in this scan. We also have NT Scan and Double Marker test reports which were done earlier, those were fine as well. Could you pls confirm if the presence of this PLSVC is harmful for our child?

      They had Fetal Echocardiography and the echo result was fine. So doctor told not to worry as PLSVC doesn't create problems as such.

    Great video! Finally went to see an Adult Congenital Cardiologist for my coarctation. They did a very thorough echo. Just read this incidental finding on the echo. That seems to be the Double SVC w/ PLSVC without the bridging vein causing coronary sinus dilation. This video cleared up a lot of confusion and concern, thank you!

    My anomaly report shows absent right superior vena cava and persistent left superior vena cava can you please tell me the risks

    • @kelizabeth3061
      @kelizabeth3061 3 місяці тому

      there are typically no risks if the baby does not have any other heart conditions and the only issue is the isolated svc. only thing to ever think about is if they ever need a heart surgery (like a pacemaker as an adult) they might have to take a different approach to get it in the right spot :)

      it's not a problem as such, but while doing cardiac surgery, we have to change some steps if left SVC is present.

    • @MedicalSnippet

      The bridging vein is nothing but left brachiocephalic vein

    PLZ HELP: My wife is into her 23rd week of pregnancy, she has DCDA twin pregnancy. The recent anomaly scan showed that one foetus has PLSVC (absent RSVC) PLSVC draining into coronary sinus. Narrowing at LVOT origin. Likely compressing on ascending aorta. Aortic valve - alising of blood flow in ductus arteriosus. Suggestions: Watch for Coarctation of aorta & Postnatal Echocardiography.
    QUESTION: Please tell me very clearly if there is a risk associated with this baby? What is the chance of this defect harming the baby in future?

    • @MedicalSnippet
      @MedicalSnippet  Рік тому

      I can understand your concern... but I would suggest consulting a pediatric cardiologist or cardiac surgeon in person with the complete fetal echo report for a proper counseling

      Hi Mukesh, our baby also has been diagnosed with PLSVC, what happened on your end. Is it safe ? Can you please reply

      @@7thwik my babies are absolutely healthy. They are currently 8 months old. Ensure that you facilitate a NICU or consult a pediatric cardiologist before the time of delivery. You may require shifting the baby to NICU for safety purpose, as it happened in my case. Later I got both babies checked with a reputed pediatrician, who noticed nothing wrong with their hearts. You may visit a pediatric cardiologist once your baby turns 3 months old to get an echo for understanding the nature of LSVC.
