The fact that the guys that went back for their friend's body ended up losing it anyway along with the rest of the bodies that had to be dumped really rubs salt in the wound and makes Levi giving the remaining guy that patch (Which most likely belonged to one of his squad members) an even more selfless act, he really has a heart of gold behind that cold exterior he puts up
I don’t know if anyone has told you, but Oluo liked Petra which is why he always imitated Levi as an attempt to impress her. You can see how her death affected him right before he bit the dust too last episode.
i remember bein SO fcking mad at that extra who disobeyed direct orders to bring back the bodies and ended up killing more people and losing more bodies, including the ones he went back for. If i was the captain i would've at least smacked his head, i wonder if Levi was actually mad inside, or just sad. When ppl told me that the uniform piece he gave to the guy was actually Petra's that he wanted to keep for himself, that actually just made me more sad.

I’ll talk about the general vibe of the seasons without spoilers so you get the feel of it without it ruining anything :) The first season was shocking and puts you in the zone of the military and let you know that yes.. its very crushing to be a soldier especially in the survey corps and make us familiar with the main characters Season 2 is more action and lore and make you question and want answers and really get invested in the story and where it might be going and it’s also my favorite season The third have alot of story telling lore, and back story of some of the characters and the world but it is necessary to connect the dots to move forward to the next parts The last season you need to watch it yourself because it’s unexplainable without spoiling it haha

He's willing to take the families' ire if it means there are less families mourning. Also Mikasa should've listened to her superior officer. Levi had more experience against titans, including the female, and now he's injured because of her rash actions that contradicted his orders.
Fun Facts: Unlike the manga, scenes are added in which corpses are thrown 😭😭😭 When Eren begins to cry over the failure of the mission, Mikasa takes his hand, which originally did not happen 😭😭😭
Also, part of why Erwin said it wasn't worth it to get those bodies, or even what remained of them is that he was there 5 years ago at the beginning of the show. Remember that scene where the survey corps returned and gave that mother her son's severed arm? Erwin doesn't want to do that to anyone else.

The point is Levi could have killed these titans, but he hurt his leg in fight with the Female Titan. This means that Levi has suffered such a serious injury that he cannot fight now. Erwin's plan to capture the Female Titan has completely failed. Now all the victims he made turned out to be unjustified. Also, Levi was hurt.
