The Japanese say _riichi_ as that's as close as their phonetics gets to the English word 'reach'. Same thing for the "double" in "double reach" - they say _daburu_ because it sounds like "double".
Most of the terminology in riichi mahjong comes from the Chinese pronunciation of words. "Riichi" isn't a Japanese approximation of the English word "Reach," but of the Chinese word "立直" (romanized as Lìzhí)

それでは、点数は英語の単語があって簡単く分かるし、私たちがたいてい英語を使います
