I was looking for a video tour of the new Insectarium to see what it looks like, and you provided exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for taking me on your video tour with you. It was very enjoyable.
Fantastic❣️ Thank you so much for the tour. It’s been a long while since I’ve been to the Aquarium..interesting insect exhibit. All, a very interesting experience. 👍 😍
Really enjoyed this one. I got to visit the aquarium on a visit the March before Katrina hit. The penguins are one of my favorites as well. We got to see them again when they were being housed at the Monterey Bay aquarium after Katrina.
Wow, that was fast! I thought it was going to be closed for almost 2 years. I'll have to head over there and see the new layout and improvements. Thanks for taking us along
Great job. We all had so much fun. Next time we’ll have a new video together. Nola vloggers are having a bug eating contest together lol. That would be interesting lol. Thanks again❤.
Looks like something that would be more fun for kids or someone who never seen those animals before. The insectarium seems like a niche thing for people who have a specific interest, insects are usually thought of as a nuisance and icky
@@NOLADEEJ Dear NOLADEEJ, I appreciate your perspective on mixing insects from different continents in terrariums at the Insectarium in New Orleans. It's always great to engage in discussions about the choices made in these kinds of exhibits, and I'd like to offer some insights into why some institutions opt for mixed exhibits while others prefer biotope setups. Educational Value: Biotope exhibits aim to recreate specific natural environments, showcasing the intricate relationships between organisms, their habitats, and adaptations for survival. This approach can provide visitors with a deep understanding of how different species coexist in the wild and the delicate balance of ecosystems. Observing these natural interactions can be highly educational and inspire a greater appreciation for biodiversity. Conservation Awareness: Biotope displays often serve as powerful tools for raising awareness about conservation issues. By showcasing species from specific regions, visitors can learn about the unique challenges facing those ecosystems, such as habitat destruction, climate change, and endangered species. This can foster a sense of responsibility and a desire to protect these fragile environments. Scientific Study: Biotope exhibits can also be valuable for researchers and students. They offer controlled environments for studying specific ecosystems and the behaviors of the creatures within them. This research can contribute to our knowledge of these ecosystems and aid in conservation efforts. Ethical Considerations: Keeping species from different continents together in a confined space may raise ethical concerns about their well-being and the potential for unnatural interactions. Some mixed exhibits may inadvertently introduce diseases or parasites that wouldn't occur in nature. However, it's worth noting that mixed exhibits aren't without merit either. They can serve as engaging and eye-catching displays, capturing the attention of visitors who might not otherwise be drawn to the natural world. The "wow" factor of seeing colorful and exotic insects together can spark interest and curiosity, potentially encouraging people to learn more about these fascinating creatures and the importance of biodiversity. In the end, the choice between mixed and biotope exhibits depends on the goals and priorities of the institution. While biotope setups are typically more faithful to natural ecosystems and their educational value, mixed exhibits can also play a role in sparking interest and conversation about the diversity of life on Earth. It's essential to keep these considerations in mind when discussing the choices made in such exhibits and to continue promoting discussions about the best ways to educate and inspire the public about the wonders of the natural world. Sincerely, Oleksandr Dorokhov.
The aquarium and insectarium are a perfect pair being together. This was a great move by Audubon! Thanks for watching!

Yo man I do the same type of exploring content. You wanna do a video?
I was there last week and that place is a gem. I stumbled across it as I walked around the river front. Really really cool place
This place was my childhood growing up ❤
Oh my goodness! The kids are getting so grown up. Thanks for the tour of the aquarium and insectarium.
Yeah they’re not kids anymore 🙁
Looks really good in there. Glad they moved from that federal building. 🐞 Jenn
I will say, the old place had a better layout but that’s it. It’s really nice in the new place.
This is so awesome. Very much a big improvement. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe

Yeah it’s so much better how it is now

Absolutely!! That sounds fun!! Haha! I’d lose right away 😂
@@NOLADEEJ I’ll be right behind you lol.
The penguin exhibit is best seen at feeding times. They are VERY active then! 🐧
Yeah definitely!! I love when they’re diving and swimming around too
I'm glad they got rid of the imax theater. I never really went there , only to the aquarium. It's a great idea to put the insectarium in it's place
Yeah I may have gone to that imax twice since it was built 😂
Yea! I remember your last aquarium tour with your son.
Seems so long ago, lol!
I remember the Theater….they would show moved and spray most of water during the movie
Yeah it was a really cool theater, I wish they would have kept it and just added on
@@NOLADEEJ agreeded
My kids liked it. eg. stingrays. I am returning from 1999. And. There was mention of 41 million Dollars…..Where did that go ?
Do they still have the tunnel you walk thru at the beginning of the old set up
Yeah it’s still there but it’s not at the beginning anymore
There are now 2 Leucistic White Alligators at Audubon Zoo
Oh awesome!! I need to get back there soon!
@NOLADEEJ I know this because I'm a Volunteer for Audubon, for both the Zoo and Aquarium
@@guytillis3151 right on!! Thanks for the info!
How much was it for the photo op ?
For that day it was free. But I’m pretty sure there is a charge to keep a copy
Yummy BUGS!!!!

Yeah, it’s not for everyone. But it’s pretty fun!
Nice man! I told ya friend I would subscribe to ya. 😎
Right on! Thanks so much!!
