When I was growing up, I only knew about the first Pretty Cure series with Cure Black and Cure White since there used to be an English dub of the original anime back on YTV (A Canadian TV channel). I had no idea the series was still around. It's kind of interesting how there are so many different Pretty Cure characters now.

And go rewatch the series from the very beginning, it's rather different from the dub you grew up with.
Also, Precure crossovers with itself every year after the 5th year, so you'll be missing context for the first three crossovers if you skip on Futari wa and Max Heart.
