Stop apologizing. This is Your Channel and you’re trying to help others with your ideas. There’s always going to be critics. Keep doing what you do. If you learn a better way, you can always repost or keep it moving🥰
The bottom part of the Candlestick is done by splatter painting. One of the easiest ways to do it is dipping a toothbrush into your copper paint and then flicking it with the back of your thumb. Another way would be to take a paintbrush dip it in your paint and tap it onto another object (like a pencil or something like that) making the splatter go onto the candlestick. 😊
I dry brush a lot and found that to be helpful, take a dry brush, dip the tip into the paint and dab it around until it's at the texture you want, then lightly brush the paint up onto the item. Usually works good for me.
Very creative and pretty decor projects. For viewer's edification: Those little metal tabs in the picture frames are called glazier's points - designed to hold the glass in place. Keep up the great work!
Ok.. if you wouldn't have told us camera stopped working I don't think we would have known. Your projects are amazing as always. My favorite is the mirror with stand.
I think spraying the flowers gold and then gluing them like you did is better. It would be hard for me to visualize if it looks good while the flowers are still pink. If I paint them and then glue them, I feel like I wouldn't have to worry about repositioning them if it doesn't come out the way I want. All of your projects are awesome!
I have now watched this video 3 times, thinking how I can make these items work in my house. I think I have come up with minor changes, mostly colors and I will be making these for my home. Thank you again for the share!
Oh girl! It was hard for me to pick just one of my favs....the mirror hanging and the gold flower mirror on stand! I love all of your ideas and as a newbie your videos are so helpful for me! Thanks 😊
Giant bath sponges with big holes... If you dry paint with one of those, you'll get that blotchy paint look you were attempting on the candle sticks... Cut the sponge to fit your hand perfectly, then dip the sponge in paint and blot it a few times and apply lightly... I use that method every time... Martha Stewart taught me that when I was 12 on PBS
Try Rub n Buff. Its a cream paint in a tube. Comes in gold, silver, etc. You squeeze the paint on your finger and highlight what you want. I use it often to highlight raised areas on frames. It would be nice on the candlesticks you used the makeup sponges on. Great work. Love the mirrored wall art especially. TFS.
To do the mercury glass, you need two types of spray paint. A mirror finish metallic spray paint and whatever color you with it. Also would need a mister bottle with a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar. Mist your glass lightly before spraying on the mirror paint. Let it dry a bit, then gently dab it with a paper towel. Mist again with water, then spray with the colored spray paint (light coat) and again dab it lightly with a paper towel. The mirror paint should be shining through where the water droplets were. It might take some experimentation to get it just right.
A tip for ya! Maybe try using E6000 and hot glue at the same time. The hot glue will dry quick and over time the E6000 will dry and make it all safer and easier. Idk I see others do that and it makes sense for both video purposes and to not have to go back later on and reglue it
Melanie P. She does suggest that in some of her videos. I think she doesn't use both when filming because she said she sometimes films parts and then takes the project apart and films again. Using just hot glue makes it easier to take apart and you can usually just peel the dried glue off and start with a clean surface again.
Hey, just wanted to say that I love your videos. They're so inspiring...on the candlestick obstacle, I know painting and there's a technique called "dry-brushing"...mostly used to skies in paintings. What you do is you take a dry brush, dip it in paint and then wipe it on a towel before you apply. It leaves a sheer coat of color without saturating the background color. You can practice on paper before anything like objects but it usually turns out depth-giving to painting and objects alike. Hope this helps! Keep up the awesomeness! Peace.
Obsessed with the flower mirror!! Im going to try this with a white Pearl and then use gold paint to accent a few edges on flowers and leaves. Love your videos.
To mimic the mercury effect use vinegar and water equal parts in a spray bottle and in another bottle baby oil, gold paint and water equal parts wait 5 mins between each coat alternating between each bottle.
All are great but the flower mirror is my favorite! While you were taking the flowers apart I was thinking there has got to be an easier way...thanks for the tip of spray painting AFTER attaching!
Your decorating is beautiful I love it. For the mercury glass look you could try a spray paint called looking glass. Paint on the underside of the candle holder but first dab or speckle with black paint then spray over the black it will give it a aged mirror look. Keep up the great ideas.
A lot of us have been having trouble finding the candle holders you used to make the flower vase. They aren't on the website either for Dollar Tree. You always do such nice work.
My favorite is also the flowered mirror. I want to do that one also I like it without the plate. I also have terrible allergies try using the sudifed generic from dollar tree. It helps and doesn't make you drowsy or sleepy. I hope you feel better.
Big thumbs up, for your creativity! There is a spray paint that gives the mercury effect. Gold was pretty. I loved the candle sticks and vase. Thank you for sharing your beautiful ideas.
Gave you a thumbs up before even watching !! Cause you always come up with great diys !! & girl you did not disappoint !! The first was so glam !! My favorite !! & the flower mirror !! Beautiful !!
You have done it again my favorite you tuber! So so beautiful ! I know your wedding is going to be absolutely fabulous ! I am old and I really don't know what this anthropology stuff is ...now don't laugh at me....I will investigate this because your designs today . Love love love them all! The change in the gluing of the candle sticks with the mirror and then painting them was beautiful . The mirror wall decor magnificent yet so simple. The flowers on the mirror so beautiful ! Your allergies have you tried any medication or do you want to go natural . In the meantime try with a carrier oil like olive oil. In a small bottle maybe 6 tablespoons olive oil add 15 drops of peppermint 15 drop eucalyptus maybe 10 drop tea tree essential oils. Try to in hall the oils often . And rub the oils on your temples. Make sure to avoid the eyes . Maybe a little under your nose on your neck and chest . This may help tame your allergies . Also look up to see if there are other essential oils that help with allergies and you may make another combination never more than 3 in a combination . The peppermint has helped mine and my daughters allergies . I use a defuse with these three oils almost every day . But if your allergies are too far gone I and my daughter have been given by the doctor predizone. It really works well. I also along with my daughter have asthma and have been in a like or death situation where I had no choice but to take this strong medication . I do use an inhaler daily that has it in it which has made my like so much simpler . I hope you feel better. Thank you for what you do. You brighten my day!
Another fun DIY video!! Super ideas. For the paint thing, you may want to try wetting the sponge and squeezing most of the water out, leaving the sponge moist. Then try dipping the moist sponge lightly in the paint ans stippling the paint on that way. For me, the small amount of water dilutes the paint enough to get a softer, more subtle application, if that is what you are looking for. Your videos are awakening my creativity, and I love it. Good luck with your camera!!, and thanks for the inspiration!!
I've never heard of the Anthropologie site but your DIYs came out so beautiful. I especially love the mirror with flowers and the vase. I hope your allergies go away soon.
Love your videos & DIY’s! The gold on the edge and bottom of the candles with the sponge dabbed looks really nice! Even for an event like a wedding! So pretty! 💕
You are so creative & funny! Thank you for the banging ideas. Also for the tip to shop at Dollar Tree online. A lot of the time the stores around me don't have the items. I'm making everyone of these diy's.
I love your ideas, so creative and sweet girl. I love the candle holders in different heights, Anthropology inspired, amazing. The white with the gold looks spectacular and it looks expensive
All the DIYs are SO cute, you're so creative!!! For the flowers, I would have just held them in a bunch as they come from the store with a glove on and sprayed them all together. Seems like it might be quicker and easier.
First time watching your channel and I AM OBSESSED! I am in the middle of looking for ways to decorate our new home within reason. When you see the model homes they are so nice and over the top but too pricey. I really love the vases and mirror PHENOMENAL. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Hey dear, I really enjoy your videos!! Keep posting and keep being creative!! Two thoughts I had while watching - Perhaps using crackle nail polish for a pseudo-mercury look? You could experiment with nail polish only for all layers, or maybe liquid leaf + nail polish crackle coat... just an idea! Also, a sewing pin in the flowers or leaves to hold them down to foam board; depending on how meticulous you feel like being, you could spray one side and then the other. It’s easy to glue flowers on first before spray painting, but hard to get the all the nooks and crannies. Also, try modpodge first (and let dry) for crisper edges for the cheaper flowers and leaves that can be a bit “frizzy” at the edges 😄
Once again great DIY's. I am gonna try these but use silver spray paint instead. I really like silver better than gold and it would match the blue in my bathroom where I want to use the mirror on my vanity. Love you girl. Keep up the great work!
Bethany, to make it look like mercury glass, use silver spray paint, (not a lot), then use vinegar in a spray bottle and lightly spritz it around the silver.
I love 💕 all of them and you make it so easy for us to follow the simple instructions to make beautiful things with little effort! The mirror is absolutely gorgeous and I’m going to try to make it myself! Mind you, I have a hard time just making a wreath 😂😁!
I would have like if at the end of the video you could have done a split screen of each project and the retail price of the inspiration vs the cost of the DIY and maybe how long it took to complete the project. I'd like to see the actual inspirations you used. Great job. Glad you got your camera working again. Have a great week. Thank for sharing your ideas.
Hey Bethany! If a few of us pitch in $5 each or something, even $1 each, we could get your camera fixed, or a new camera. I'd love to help -- selfishly, I LOVE your videos and want you to be able to keep making them! :)
Woman of a Certain Age Hey love! I saved up money just in case something like this happens. I called Canon support though and got it to work. Idk what the problem was but they walked me thru some trouble shoots and one worked. 😁 I appreciate the want to help though!! 😊😊😊
what a kind gesture, and her humble reply showed what an honest person she is. I love seeing this. ill be subscribing now. We should also keep in mind that people make youtube videos hoping to eventually make money, some think because we dont have to that means we shouldnt and thats not a good way to think. same a waitresses ect we dont have to tip but we should tip well after all they are taking their precious-time away from other things to provide entertainment for us.
If you spray paint something silver and want the mercury glass look, put alcohol in a spray or spritz bottle and spray until you get the desired effect. Now, if you spray something another color, like the white you used and then try that, I don’t know what would happen. As always, use a test product before doing the real thing. Good luck! 😊👍🏻
Love your videos so much!! you are an inspiration!! I would love to see the original stuff from anthropologie so we can see what items you are recreating. Thank you
They are all such cute ideas. So happy I came across your channel. I'm not into gold so I'd like to try it with some white and black on the candle sticks.
Great DIYS!! My favorite was the last one actually! I know it was the easiest, but for some reason it never occurred to me to make use of that hole in the bottom of the dollar tree candle holders LOL Brilliant!!! 💗
I honestly love all of these! I'm hoping to find those larger round framed mirrors. I went to 5 different DTs before I found some of the rectangular framed mirrors!
Great video! For the candlestick base: to get the paint to look splotchy and distressed, maybe try painting it and going over it with a piece of sand paper maybe?

Stray a mixture of vinegar and water on the paint to get the Mercury effect
donna crim before the white paint or on the white paint before the gold or after the gold while it's still wet?

I'm standing at Michael's debating on whether or not to buy a mirror that looks EXACTLY like the floral one you made. You're a genius!

The back of the flower might reflect in the miror so its good that you painted it before gluing it, at least the back of it!
I've never heard of the Anthropologie site but your DIYs came out so beautiful. I especially love the mirror with flowers and the vase. I hope your allergies go away soon.

The gold mirrors are really very pretty!! I just did one from Jay Munee's channel... But I would like to do that one for the bedroom... So nice!
