It's good to see circuit tracing done to solve faults...when I worked in the local music as the bench tech, using such methods saves head scratching.. Thumbs up..
Hi , may I have a question? I have an AX-490 amplifier, with blown one channel and fuse, I've replaced the a1358 and c3856 they were shorted, I cannot detect the short anywhere anymore but the fuse keeps blowing up! Any tips?
It can not be. Must be similar, either you’re speaking about power board voltage or voltage to power the op amps. Check the diagram. You may find it in hifiengine.com for free. Regards.
Hi there, I have a vintage ELAN z660 power Amp. it was working just finetilllike4 weeks ago, but suddenly it starts but then the output sound is lost real quick. It has 6 channels, and the output is derived from all6 channels. The Amp stays ON, with no bad smell or burnt spots. Any suggestions? Is there anywhere we can get the schematics diagram for it. Appreciate your response.

I wish I could do what you do. You're a god of electronics if anyone was to ask me. Wish you lived closer....
Another great repair video. Nice job explaining the troubleshooting logic.
Cool video man. Keep em coming
Super helpful stuff!
Nice work!!!
you are freakin' awesome!!!
agreed. this channel deserves much more subscribers. really educating.
those new replaced diodes are zener diodes ???
10:40 zener diodes.

output transistor is shorted
Any idea why the A channel has 15v across it and there's no output signal? Channel B has 3.6v and is working fine. Thoughts? Many thanks, Ian

What no heatsink on the AMP IC ?
The amp IC in this case contains only the input stage. The power transistors are mounted on the two heatsinks. 😉
A fly!
That amplifier is total garbage, why don't the ic on a proper heatsink?
doesn't need one. Its not part of the power section
