Hi the 2020 lariat don’t have this option and can you help me to find a way to open my tailgate while my engine is on because I can’t figure it out. Thanks
My 2021 does not have the tailgate on/off in the settings/vehicle menu or anywhere else. It needs to be disabled before it is accidently lowered on the trailer jack and chewed up while driving. This was not a well thought out feature for a vehicles that are built to tow.
@@mitchcox I bought a new 2022 F-150 XLT in December of 22 and it has the power tailgate, BUT, when I follow your instructions and go to SETTINGS>VEHICLE, I scroll down and do NOT have the a POWER TAILGATE option to turn on and off.
Any suggestions for the F250 with Sync4? There is no option for the manual/power in the F250 Tremor. The key only lowers the tailgate, it doesn't raise (by design). But I really need to find a way to disable lowering it. I hit that keyfob button entirely too much in my pocket and come out to find my tailgate down all the time. Thanks for any info you may have.
You could potentially disable it with forscan. It’s free to use for what you need it for. There are a lot of things you can modify with forscan. Just backup your settings first.
I'd pay thousands to have an option to disable the beepbeep when I exit the vehicle with the key fob in my pocket. I could see it's usefulness in some situations, but still should be able to turn it off easily.
Yeah. The only way I have found to prevent that from happening is to either get out and not close the door all the way or leave the fob in the truck. I understand why it’s there but I also understand it’s annoying. Ha ha.
@@mitchcox lol yes.. mainly because I forget - happened the other day my rear camera had a smudge so I got out to clean.. was early Sun morning so felt bad for neighbors
Pathetic feature that by bending over I can smash the tailgate against a trailer. The truck knows when a trailer is attached, it should automatically disable this feature with an attached trailer.
Not a bad idea but make it an option to disable when a trailer is attached. I can lower my tailgate without hitting my trailer. So I don’t want this feature disabled just because I have a trailer attached. Honestly though. I have had my truck since July 2021 and I have never accidentally lowered my tailgate. I have accidentally activated the panic alarm a couple times though.
Sorry. My error. After review, I saw that TAILGATE handle NEVER HAD A PHYSICAL KEY. One of those round holes on handle must be some kind of sensor or light. @@mitchcox

Sorry. During editing I didn’t realize it was distracting. I generally try not to be one of those with loud annoying music. I apparently dropped the ball on this one. Sorry. Thanks for letting me know.
are the tail blinkers amber or red color? My XLT is with halo tail lights with BLIS and I am looking to upgrade em. Cheers

I don’t have a 2020. But have you tried putting it in park first. Then pressing the tailgate button?
@@mitchcox yes I have , it only open when engine is off. I went to the dealer and they told me it does that for safety reasons

Interesting. I wonder why it is in my menu but not yours. What trim do you have? Yours has the power tailgate up and down feature? Thanks.

you can use forscan software to do that... and many other things

I don’t have the function in sync either 😩
My 2022 does not allow this...it's not in the menu.
Interesting, What model do you have?
Mine either

No power, and apparent (from video), no key to lock it.
What do you mean? It locks when you lock the other doors. Power locks and unlocks just like the other doors.

What years my 2018 does not seem to have this option
Sorry. It’s for the 2021 and newer.
