I blind bought the Layton from fragrancenet, the Layton smell like a MASSIVE VANILLA BOMB would you guys agree? it also seems a bit cloying in warmer spring time. 2 sprays and it filled up the entire living room, my wife and kid said it's very sweet and potent, i can imagine 3 to 4 sprays of this stuff is going to suffocate and choke out people in the same room! Forget about beast mode, the Layton is Godzilla mode!

IGetSuper-Dome 504 Alexandria Fragrances’ Royal Equestrian is said to be really close to the original Layton. It is about $60 for a 55ml while Layton is $200 or more.I have Royal Equestrian and it is good as f. I haven’t smelled Layton but Royal Equestrian is definitely my favorite fragrance of all so far. The sillage and performance is good too. 8 - 10 hours on skin and I smell it in my clothes for days until I wash them. It projects 2 - 3 feet for the first couple hours which is great.
Hi Tiff, Great review! I own both and love both. I feel like they serve a different purpose. Layton is more for day time spring summer and Exclusif is for fall and winter.

I really enjoy them both but if you can only buy one, I say go for Layton because of the price and amount of fragrance you get compared to Layton Exclusif. Still I'm happy to have them both.

I wore the Layton sample from their Royal Essence discovery set and had to order it before I ran out. I really enjoy it and don't have anything like it. I think the opening is amazing, but the drown down is also incredible.
Tiff has a nice voice and she is passionate about her work. I agree, some fragrance smell so good on others and when I ask them what you are wearing, I find out I have it. Lol.
I got a sample of Micallef Ylang and didn't care for it one bit, I then gave one sample to a friend and she sprayed it, it smelt amazing on her and I smelt it again on me and it was still a nah for me. So your assumptions about smelling differently on other people is spot on xxx

I smelled the sample of Layton exclusive on one hand , then I found myself order the whole bottle by the other hand . Absolutely stunning. It is one of the rare perfumes that I decided quickly to own them !

The fragrance is great
I just got Exclusif. The opening has too much tobacco for me. What makes it worse is that the projection is strong. Thankfully, it goes away, but it takes from 30 mins to an hour.
After that, the drydown leaves a nice scent, but if you don't like a strong tobacco scent, then pass on this one.

If I was you I’d get a sample. I didn’t like it at all.
I own both and honestly have a hard time deciding myself which I prefer. I love both, been rocking excusif more lately since it been in the 30s and 40s here but I feel like original Layton also cuts through cold really well for a "fresh-ish" fragrance. Both 10s in my book. Keep up the great videos, I really enjoy watching you both!!

Yeah, I'm on my second bottle of OG Layton & just got Exclusif today. I've read people say they're similar and can be redundant if you already own one but that couldn't be any further from the truth to my nose. They're both *very* different to me, & while my first reaction to Exclusif (as I blind bought it) was negative it has really grown on me. I love it just as much if not slightly more than OG Layton

Daniel Montanez Thanks for your insight, Yes! I own Herod as well, only downside is performance. Bought a decant of Carlisle about a year ago and it's by far my favorite scent from PDM. Just having trouble finding a full bottle unfortunately 😕. Pegasus is pretty good as well but I got bored of it after awhile.

I agree with Carlos Tiff. I like Layton, but once i got a sample of Exclusif, it was in my top 5 cold weather fragrance. Herod is my favorite from the line and one of my favorite scents period. And then there's Sacred Wood which is number 2. Followed by Exclusif!🙂
Tiff, I brought Louis Vuitton Matière Noire 100ml, what's your thoughts on that fragrance? My go to is Creed Aventus and Spicebomb.

Both are very good but L. Exclusive is one or two steps over Layton. I like Layton but it is ... I wont say linear but it doesn´t give you any surprise or any corner to explore and enjoy. L. Exclusive give it to you and on me it has much better performance.

YES, I did it. Got it earlier in the day yesterday, it's like JPG Ultra Male minus the pear, One Million & La Nuit De L'hommes cardamom on my skin. It's so good + the silage, projection & longevity are incredible. Pegasus & Oajan are next for me.

I love me some Herod but can't say I've had the privilege of smelling anything else from the house. Like I was saying at the meet up in NYC. I just started this whole ride in may/june so Creed is the house I dived head first into since they have the freshies on lock then tom ford, then atelier cologne now I'm onto the dark rich scents.
