“Bakura! Bakura! Wake up, Bakura!” “WHAT?! What is it?! What could possibly be so bloody important that you had to violently shake me while laying sick in a hospital bed?!” “I just had my first successful bowel moment in two years!” “Hooray!”
The south shall rise again Pharaoh! And once the confederacy achieves total independence we will bring back slavery! Gahahahahaha! Yami Yugi: No! That's horrible! Yokel Bakura: That's not what you thought 5000 years ago when you still walked this earth!
Yami: that’s different! (He probably rationalizes it with them being that Egyptians “only kept criminals” as slaves (they also kept the children thereof) but the actual internal reasoning probably is more a reaction on the level that he’s black, and chattel slavery was based around enslaving black people, as opposed to people who couldn’t pay their taxes or something)
SuperSparrow45 besides he treated his slaves very well. Only half of them died from excess whipping, the rest died from over exposure. You see he was a very merciful guy.
Don’t quote on me on this but apparently the original script of the show emphasised that Bakura has a “southern accent” which in Asia is generally seen as polite, friendly and sophisticated. The Singapore team who literally translated the original scripts took this as Southern hillbilly and went from there. Might be wrong though considering I’m having trouble finding where I read that
You can replace the voices with Foghorn Leghorn and still get the same result. I say, I say boy! I place this here card face down. Now prepare your tookus, 'cause I'm gonna send you to the Shadow Land.
I say boy I say Joey and Yugi got them their locator cards. Now I'm just a simple southern grandpa and I done seen a lotta things but I ain't ever seen that there millennium ring before. I guess they do things different down here in the big city.
"You were having a nightmare!"
"aM oLrAt NoW"
Yami Bakura: What nonsense! I was having a lovely dream! I especially liked the part where I was killing everyone!
A wan go wid em
"Bakura, you're alive!"
"Grandpa! You're dead!"
the better version
“Bakura! Bakura! Wake up, Bakura!”
“WHAT?! What is it?! What could possibly be so bloody important that you had to violently shake me while laying sick in a hospital bed?!”
“I just had my first successful bowel moment in two years!”
“Hooray!”
Director: Alright, for this international dub we gotta make these characters sound American as possible.
Voice Director: Sure thing, yall!
Don't you mean: "Voice Director: Tubular idea, yall!"?
Ok so,
We can all agree that british bakura is better then country bakura.
Fully agree
And it’s best when he’s voiced by an ACTUAL British voice actor
but... we ain't gonna talk about grandpa southern goku
Dude, dont tell me these voices here were the actual dub?
They sounded awful!
@@realglutenfree this was probably a different dub. Like the Portuguese dub. Lord have mercy on that
Why is Yugi's grandpa 12?
Not twelv, from Alabama
Yeah wtf
I came here expecting the Singapore dub and yet it still took me a second to realize this wasn’t a parody.
It sounds like one person is voicing the whole show
because they are, surprisingly 😭
This. This is the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
LittleKuriboh couldn’t even have invented this as satire
Grandma sounds like Adam Sandler voicing an old person
"That's a technical foul!"
@@datboi9539 not Whitey Duvall 😭✋🏽
Ok, I take back what I said about Pegasus's voice being the only fitting one. Grandpa sounding like that old coot from Gravity Falls is perfect.

Yami: Those slaves were a birthday gift from me to me!
@@SuperSparrow45 Lol! That sounds exactly like something Yami would say in the Abridged series!
SuperSparrow45 besides he treated his slaves very well. Only half of them died from excess whipping, the rest died from over exposure. You see he was a very merciful guy.
And he gave them all something to keep them busy. Building his massive tomb!

OH CJDNNFKSNCKS I SEE SO TRANSLATED SOUTHERN JAPAN INTO SOUTH AMERICA LOLDLS
and yeah that'd be why 4kids made him english too
You haven't recovered yet boy
Sougaroku sounds like Master Roshi trying to do a Yugi impression
I almost died when he said boy.
Let me guess, Singapore?
Yup
"You haven't recovered yet, boi!"
"You realize you're essentially talking to what amounts to the antichrist, right?"
I love the “oOhoO” at the end
You can replace the voices with Foghorn Leghorn and still get the same result.
I say, I say boy! I place this here card face down. Now prepare your tookus, 'cause I'm gonna send you to the Shadow Land.
Tristan Taylor To be completely honest, that would would have been much better voice for Grandpa.
Oh, my gosh, YES!!!
I just choked omg XD thanks for the lol before bed. Good god that was 👌🏼🤣
This is the most southern shit I've ever heard
And Grandpa sounds like a really bad impression of Rivalz from Code MENT
I say boy I say Joey and Yugi got them their locator cards. Now I'm just a simple southern grandpa and I done seen a lotta things but I ain't ever seen that there millennium ring before. I guess they do things different down here in the big city.
I was just morbidly curious as to what Southern Bakura sounded like, and that curiosity has now been satisfied.
is this huckleberry finn
He sounds like towelie the towel from South Park.
I just sow something spooky in my dream..
Ohh that is relief
bruh
Damn Im glad to be french cause thats really the best version of all in terms of voices.
Pierre Colombo really where can I watch it, i know a little French
@@Seththeprince I don't know mate, netflix maybe ? The season 1 used to be on TV, but that was 10 years ago when I was a kid haha...
Pierre Colombo Okay thank you
I’m not even Italian but I know that they had the best theme song
Bruh they sound like they came fresh out of King of the Hill
How come there are some voice actors in this world who really have such a voice
0:51 😂😭
Did they make Bakura southern in the Singapore dub!?
Grandpa sounds just like Master Roshi in this dub.
"Check his pulse, Y'all!"
Hey Grandpa, y'all ready fer some football?!
Cowboy Bakura
HOWDY Y'ALL
Atleast this dub was uncut?
it sounds like a bad fandub
Yeah... a nightmare... that's what that was....
0:15 when did he sound like he's texes now? 😂😂😂
Next episode we found him knocked in the floor.
Woohoo
Is this this Odex Dub from Singapore?
Yup
Im losing it
OH OH OH
i thought this was some abridged clip i didn’t see until i realised this is an official dub and hammer in how shitty the localised konami anime is
Well this isnt the general English dub... this is the singapore dub lol.
Singapore anime dubs are notorious for being funny level bad
Speech
100
Why the frick do they sound like this
So Bakura is Southern in this dub? Thats somewhat okay. His British accent is a little better but any accent could apply to him
😂
is the the actual dub? or the abridged version?
A real dub
Why is bakura not British? :D
This is the Singapore dub
@@Emily-cw7tjohh okay!
Because he's not gay? :P
La voz del abuelo en inglés suena bien pendeja xD
someone can't pronounce their R
wtf that :D
Which episode was this?
