A long bang engine , where the firing order of a P twin flat plane is : 1-0-0-1-0-0-0-0. See .
Haters beware, these bikes are FUN to ride. They are brutal pigs, particularly after exhaust/flash. I get 25-30mpg with a Yoshimura Alpha T but strong 💪 150whp! In contrast, i can absolutely scream the guts out of my new gen '21 mt09 and I get 35-40mpg all day long. Great content as always Chris 👏
Had my mt10 remapped in the north of England at junction 33 . I fitted a k&n filter and a scorpion de cat pipe an made 151bhp as it was ! 👍👍 After Andy at J 33 spent 3 hours on it , came out making 162 bhp at the wheel ! This thing is now mental fast , and I own 2 R1s old 4xv and the latest model 😳🙈🙈👍
Also if your bike comes with a factory quickshifter....that $50 upgrade is the best money you will ever spend! I debated it...decided to go for it... and man it’s lightning quick on the shift with no power lag

I have had many fast sport bikes over the years. Now I have a dual sport with maybe 40 hp that I can use all the hp instead alot of hp that I seldom use.
I'm genuinely confused. Really enjoyed the clip however Im surprised how low the stock HP figure was without the cat?? Yamaha claim 160hp at the crank (140 real world hp at the wheel) - However I have a 2018 MT10 (the faster blue ones ha ha ha) and have had it dyno tuned here in the UK (Junction 33 - North West) - and it ran 145hp at the back wheel (stock with Cat on) and then ECU flashed gave it 152hp at the back wheel (same stock exhaust on with cat) - the power and torque figures were all increased substantially on all 20/30/40/50/60% throttle openings too. Soooo my question is, are the bikes that are shipped over to the US heavily restricted to meet tougher emission laws over there? I feel as though you lot are missing out :(
I know this is an old comment, but stock North American ECUs are programmed different than the ones for other markets around the world. Also, different dynos read different and the weather conditions make a difference as well.
@@kevinphonetic You would have to ask a tuner what all of the differences are in the programming. From what I've seen, North American bikes generally have more electronically controlled restrictions that hold them back.
European versions make roughly 140-145whp stock and American 125-130whp and the same goes for the new Speed Triple 160whp in Europe and 145whp in the States
You forgot one very important mod for flow... the air filter. I should say the customer forgot it. He needs to get a DNA filter. Best filters out there. I've spoken with individuals who have gotten an aftermarket decat exhaust, a tune, and high flow air filter... and obtained around 170WHP
I'll be sending in my ecu for my 2014 zx10r in a few weeks. But I see what the customer was saying. That exhaust is SUPER LOUD with the muzzle but sounds even better without. I Don't believe in a quiet bike. Lol
I have to respectfully disagree. From a Jet Skier since the 80’s and still now, their PWC stuff was some of the best out there. And that’s no bull. Also, I’ve installed one of their motorcycle slip-ons and while they obviously don’t make power, the actual “quality“ is very good.
i aint crazy about those coffman exhausts id leave stock muffler on before puttin that thing on there kinda tacky looking too but made good power after you gutted it which was good for customer cant wait to get my hands on one of these bikes

I have that same Coffman exhaust lol, sounds good but damn I had no idea it was robbing me power. And I'm usually not a fan of tank grips but buddy did a great job on his mt10.
I'd be miffed if I paid money for that exhaust. Stupid to have a screen in it PLUS a DB killer. That's a good looking color combo on that bike, they wheelie like crazy stock. Now he'll need bars!
The etv setting, do you just crank the throttle percentage to 100%? Why are they not already 100%? For safety of the rider? Will it be choppy? Not a tuner so I have no idea how these work, just curious, hopefully it's not a stupid question
I've just had my MT10 dyno'd here in the UK and it pulled 150.8bhp, I'm kinda disappointed since I've decatted it, put an SP engineering can on and a P08 F1-85 sprint filter in there and removed the snorkel in the air box 🤔 I've seen these bikes making up to 163bhp
Remember run your bike on five Dynos and YOU WILLget five HP numbers. Some are wildly optimistic in their numbers. All that matters is what it read before and after ON THE SAME DYNO.
Wonder about the gp style exhausts like akra and SC with the honey combs on the ends of their exhaust is robbing power too. Maybe not since it'd at the end. Coffman and toce are power robbers and a cheap route exhaust.

I believe it would be worth it because I think he can get your throttle positions to 100% without any other modifications. I think!!!!!! Just that would deliver some more power than getting up in the RPM range and running at 62% throttle. Especially when you think you’re at 100% and you’re not.

I dont understand the point of the resonator with a shorty coffman exhaust. They cancel out each other. Just throw a LeoVance full system on it, or any full system with a can. Those shorty gp slip-ons are stupid loud.
I bought a new 2011 FZ1 and went through the trouble of completely de-restricting it. Full exhaust, filter, airbox hack, ECU flash, and for convenience a well honed PCV map. The pre-FZ-10 generation bikes were VERY restricted as well. Not sure why Yamaha 1L naked bikes are so doggone held back for emissions. I gained a peak of 29 horsepower on the FZ1.
You are still gonna have all the restrictions in the ecu. We can always Flash the ecu back to stock if you had a warranty issue. It is 100% undetectable.
how can you dislike video like this? when i get mine i'm definetely doing this but picking probably an SC , AR exhaust or Akra. don't you have to disconnect the O2 sensor as well? i read that somewhere. quick note for more traction and accurate reading you need to sit on the bike. basically a stock exhaust is better than a high end exhaust? don't make sense. pls try different headers, complete exhaust from different brands to see which one rocks this bike to its full potential and maybe a power commander?

Yeah an improvement for sure, but you're showing speed (mph) at the bottom. So, hey guys so if you're now doing 135 mph you have another 34 HP. So your acceleration will be much improved from 120 mph to 135 mph because now you have 34 more HP and because you're there every day on your mountain twistie ride, or commuting on a regular ride day, you're going to feel the difference. But hey, if you're doing 30 mph you'll benefit another 3 to 5 HP up to 105 mph. 34 HP gain @ 13500 rpm is not useful, unless you're drag racing or at the track. 90 % of the times you ride you're in between 4000 and 8000 and you probably have another 4 HP there. Show us RPM x HP and torque curve. Now we'll know what kind of tuning we're getting, won't we?
He did my 2016 Suzuki GSX-S1000 last yet after I installed an SC-project exhaust, I was very pleased with the results so no doubt he will do my current bikes.
Nice video and enjoyed watching. I love the MT-10 and really want one but the question is that in the power stakes it doesn't offer much more than my 2008 FZ1 which some simple tweaks with a tune & end can makes 145hp on the dyno!!! MT-10 will make much better torque but 10yrs of a difference and not any more powerful. Maybe the old 2004 to 2006 R1 engines (with mods for the FZ1) were pretty damn good after all.

That piece that’s removed from the exhaust is called a baffle, I removed mine & now my bike is so much louder. I have modified it as well my bike as well. I need to add a power commander to my #GSXR 2019 1K
I turbo kitted my MT09. Still gets good gas millage compared to an MT10 it seems. A lot lighter too. Would like to do the same mod to an MT10 though at some point.👍
I’ve had my ECU flashes already. I have a Akrapovic link pipe with the stock muffler thinking about taking the stock muffler off and just running the link pipe. Think it will be to loud ?
Those Xplane motors down the strip with a quick shifter sound pretty awesome. The last MT with the link pipe and stock exhaust was sweet. So these can be unlocked but the R1's cant?
@@DarkestVibez This sounds very true, the first "FZ10" came out in 2016 I believe, and then in 2018 they changed to "MT10." I think finally now in 2022 they updated the MT10.

Their JS550 exhausts were some of the best, up there with Westcoast and PJS. Their motorcycle muffs are worse than Yoshimura and Toce

Toche and Coffman are two exhaust I wouldn’t put on my bikes. They belong on a beater 250-300.

Guess he forgot the other MT10 had a Sprint filter as well.
A sprint air filter only adds 1-2 hp on the Dyno. They help more in the real world with ram air.

Yamaha Factory exhaust, Graves, or the Akrapovic, paired with any decat/link pipe of your choice.

I’ve had my ECU flashes already. I have a Akrapovic link pipe with the stock muffler thinking about taking the stock muffler off and just running the link pipe. Think it will be to loud ?

Those Xplane motors down the strip with a quick shifter sound pretty awesome. The last MT with the link pipe and stock exhaust was sweet. So these can be unlocked but the R1's cant?
These are probably still running older software. I don't think they have been updated in a few years
@@DarkestVibez This sounds very true, the first "FZ10" came out in 2016 I believe, and then in 2018 they changed to "MT10." I think finally now in 2022 they updated the MT10.
