I'm a Lil Baby fan and I do gotta say that his music hasn't been the same for a while now. Ever since I listened to his last album "It's Only Me" I knew something was off. It was a decent album but I was disappointed. "Voice of The Heros" was better than that. I wouldn't say he fell off but I will say he had a good run. That's really almost every artist in the game. @@texmontana420 Fair enough, he isn't for everyone and that's fine. I'm speaking about his growth as an artist/person and the subject matter and value. I can't say the same about Lil Baby. It's primarily surface-level and a straight line. Couple that with the sound arguments and it's as Blacky said in the past, fast food rap.
Lil baby's problem is not only that he is failing to connect with fans because of his awkward personality, but he also does not have any real depth or substance in his newer music, he said that he has not been in the best mental space in his interview with yachty, but this actually can be a great opportunity for him to rap about how he has been feeling personally allowing him to drop an album which will be relatable to fans on an emotional level and display a level of vulnerability that he has been lacking.
Lil Yachty actually was on QC payroll to write for Lil Baby and city girls at one point! When he mentioned how difficult it was to work with Lil Baby...he was low key told to hush...it should be here on youtube somewhere if it hasn't been scrubbed offline ...

Not experimenting with your sound ends up llke this. Music is not supposed to always be easy to make, or like fast food. People appreciate when you’re trying to evolve or make something new, even if they’re not use to it.
I realized he fell off when the unfinished album leaked yesterday on official platforms and i couldn't find a single post on social media talking about it.
Lil Yatchys album “Lets Start Here” really helped revive a lot of his popularity and it also showed he can make new music for demographics of people he hadn’t previously connected with
And honestly, I wouldn’t say it’s a subject matter thing. Travis and Playboi Carti both talk about the same stuff over and over again. They just do it in a more creative and interesting way.
Casual fans expect street rappers to be like Tyler or Carti and switch they sound every album thinking these street rappers are real artists which they are not and we gott except them for that

I think Lil Baby has some good moments, always delivers on the features. But his music has never provoked me to listen to a full album. I hear a lot of his music in ads, videos, people playing his songs etc. But it's never properly grabbed me & a lot sound very similar. Maybe I need to give his music a proper go first. Makes you appreciate these rap icons more at their longevity.
As a real fan, it’s not just about cadence. Lil Baby's versatility is clear, especially in features. But his older tracks had more replay value because they were relatable. Right now, songs about incomprehensible luxury to the day to day person and names most people don’t care (ex. Mike Rubin, Wristwatch names) about aren’t hitting the same. Artists like Drake and Kendrick connect because they make their abnormal perspectives relatable. In my mind, I believe a Collab project might rekindle some of that hunger and piggybacking like The Voice of the Heroes. It aged well and Durk was able to match his energy with that project in his own way. Lil baby has always been hot with rap features and could use someone to match the energy and get back to that hunger of beating the odds. Although it’s easy to escape that mindset living a life of luxury
3:13 but when he dropped Bigger Picture everyone tuned in. If he had gone that route maybe we would have been looking at him for that type of content. But even baby himself said he won’t go down that path sadly so ig it’s a mute point
Ayo shout out to Blacky because I remember those days when you only knew his voice..fast forward, he put out a rap song and you started seeing his face more and more. Stay lit dawg
The world loved Lil Baby’s wave because he dropped My Turn RIGHT BEFORE the pandemic hit, so everyone being on lockdown they tuned in even more to listen to it. His music ain’t bad, but it was nowhere near where everyone hyped it up to be, I was saying this even BACK THEN. People said I was hating, really only bump his music in the gym cause it’s got that “endless motivation” “wake up and go get it” vibe to it, but other than that it’s too repetitive and bland to listen to anywhere else IMO. By the time 2022 rolled around people were starting to see it lol. Now we in the end of 2024 everybody who swore they loved him, can’t stand him lol
I firmly believe little baby has woken up in the sense of graduating from college and really educating himself which I think the community needs to be here for! I think what he's really trying to say is he's learned a lot and realizes that what he says might not be the actual ticket to what he wants to do now.
It seems like street rappers are kinda falling off, especially drill music. i think people are finally getting tired of the negativity, its the same repetitive subjects matter and beats over and over, its boring now.

I will never have respect for someone who is lucky enough to get out of the ghetto but who continues to glorify this way of life knowing that others die from it, help your brother to get out too instead of making it seem cool
I think rappers “fall off” so much nowadays is cuz the internet. Peoples opinions be reflecting from others peoples opinion. More people would still be listening to lil baby if we didn’t have these people like akademics saying he fell off.
That does play a part. Like, some folks just appear outta no where and an influencer or celebrity will hype them up and here comes the mindless masses...following suit...cheering on somebody they know nothing about. The same for when they tryna blackball somebody...they will have a popular media person tear them down and pay bloggers to diminish the artist's work....just like they did with Nicki Minaj but she's actually talented and does the work herself ...so, you can't break someone you didn't make. Can't take down someone you didn't raise up!
No people just matured and grew up, ppl gotten bored of the generic trap sound Which is understandable cuz that shits been going on since gucci mane popularized it in the late 2000s

@@texmontana420 Fair enough, he isn't for everyone and that's fine. I'm speaking about his growth as an artist/person and the subject matter and value. I can't say the same about Lil Baby. It's primarily surface-level and a straight line. Couple that with the sound arguments and it's as Blacky said in the past, fast food rap.
who TF is NF lol
For me i think after that Michael Rubin viral picture.
Nah gunna stopped ghost writing for him
@@MrEuroDollaz that and the picture with michael rubin
@@cherrywineluxeyep both things but rubin backhug by two men was weird AF
I got to the end of the video like, are we just going to pretend the pictures had nothing to do with it?
id rather a rapper stop working with me and ppl think I fell off versus getting hugged from behind and everyone thinking you a fruit pop 🌈😂😂
I still listen to his freestyle to this day 🔥
That’s a good song, but every song after sound the same to me
All his old songs will be a bop but he definitely fell off and don’t have the spark any longer hopefully he invested his money in other places
I’m 70 years old and back in my day lil baby was topping the charts weekly 😭😭
Too young, u should be 90
@@skydualar3514😂
Cringe
Great analysis
Lil Yachty actually was on QC payroll to write for Lil Baby and city girls at one point! When he mentioned how difficult it was to work with Lil Baby...he was low key told to hush...it should be here on youtube somewhere if it hasn't been scrubbed offline ...
I always thought Gunna's music was better than Lil Baby's. The mixtapes and albums have more replay value.
Ooo definitely
Yup. Been bumpin Gunnas catalog since drip season 2. I can’t only replay Harder than Ever out of Baby’s catalog
Yea I definitely thought gunna catalog hit harder than lil baby to me
Wunna is top 5 best albums of 2020, hella replay value, immaculate beats and flow was on point
it’s just a fact that gunna is more talented then lil baby , and lil baby is a 🥷 if he really gets his raps ghost written from him but it would make sense since gunna is more talented
It’s always funny when you’re in the minority saying that you don’t see the hype in an artist to suddenly everyone agreeing with you later. I swear if some of these songs released a few years ago they would have been going crazy
Lil baby was never good he just followed the Atlanta trap wave and never evolved passed that
@@LosHitman He was good. Atlanta and the Feds in general have just been cracking down on artists, so it doesn't quite hit the same.
@@Tay_Yolo all they do is mumble about jewelry, cars, and drugs over beats that all sound the same, future migos old gunna and thugger are good tho

Ya need to seperate “internet” popularity with real life. He still top 3 played in most hoods I go to but when I’m online seems like he a Soulja boy or something
That’s how you know he a clown, when other clowns listen and no one else does 🤡
That’s how you know dude fell off, when only mfers with shit music taste listen to him now
Hoods make up a small percent of the population so that’s not really a great example
@@SharmVThis lack of logic in a response can only be understood by people who are used to clown activity. 🤡
Bro what hood????? Did you do the research into each & every hood?
Nobody fvcking cares about the hood excepts clowns. Foh
He said never wanted rap in the first place. His boys had to convince him
Dude is a dope boy and trying to get out that life.
Oh snap my boy hit 1m I didn’t even notice until now. I’ve been following since like 25-30k
Not experimenting with your sound ends up llke this. Music is not supposed to always be easy to make, or like fast food. People appreciate when you’re trying to evolve or make something new, even if they’re not use to it.
Akademiks hit it on the head. lil baby too rich he not hungry anymore
I agree
FACTS.
I realized he fell off when the unfinished album leaked yesterday on official platforms and i couldn't find a single post on social media talking about it.
Use your brain and ears half of those songs are AI and half are old ass leaks that been leaked. He got hacked
I don’t get how someone like Yachty is talked about more than him. He’s had like 3 big songs since 2016 & he’s ALWAYS being discussed.
Poland
Tesla
Strike
All big songs in a single year
@ Poland was an accidental leak that become a popular song for a week. Never heard of the other 2 songs.
Yachty had a good 2023 and 2024 year that’s why
Lil Yatchys album “Lets Start Here” really helped revive a lot of his popularity and it also showed he can make new music for demographics of people he hadn’t previously connected with
@@TeriqPhillipsyou live under a rock ? Those are popular songs
YO “RIGHT ON” WAS HEAT BLACKY KNOWS!!!
They have to be artists. An artist is creative, and they evolve.
And honestly, I wouldn’t say it’s a subject matter thing. Travis and Playboi Carti both talk about the same stuff over and over again. They just do it in a more creative and interesting way.
Casual fans expect street rappers to be like Tyler or Carti and switch they sound every album thinking these street rappers are real artists which they are not and we gott except them for that
if they're not real artist they shouldn't be around tbh
@ what 🤣🤣 hope you not a Carti fan saying this , no one said you had to listen

I use Lil baby as my main example as why a change in sound & flow is sometimes needed, not only just for one rapper but, the entire industry.
as long as this man makes music ill listen

You made a good point about how some artists are hyped up by social media but don’t have any actual fans.
@5:56 mark - you hit the nail on the head. Even Dre was hinting on that point just didn't wanna say it like you did but its true, I said this 10 years ago and now here it is. Real talk, I got an album I been waiting for the industry to self correct before I released it because nobody was checking for meaningful content until now. Look 4 me...
He did NOT say he’s not as hungry or say anything about not having fire in his belly. He actually said the opposite. He spoke about obstacles but he literally said he’s trying to elevate to another level now, a few times. And how can he use his personal life to do that.
Damn bro when u hit a million subscribers! That’s crazy 🔥
Bro has millions now. He don’t need to rap no more. Edit: BlackySpeakz shows himself?! I used to watch your content all the time. This is the first one in a long time. Glad to see you come out bro!
I’ve said this for years that lil baby is an industry plant no core fanbase but he’s lit to the general public.
True, I never actually met someone who was with him from day one
If somebody is going to be a plant it's not lil baby.
@@iv3rson1876I guess if plant are friends bringing in a friend into a sport and that friend pop of on their own is plant then yeah baby is. But if gunna n thug who arnt major labels with hands to keep on promoting that artist 24/7 with interviews or making bigger artist bring them in their tour's just to expose them ice spicy. Then that's way more plant like then lil baby getting the biggest chance in his life because thug thought that drug selling life wouldn't get him far
baby never had passion for music that’s the main problem he damn near got pushed into doing it if someone doesn’t have true passion for something they can only go so far
@@marquis6910 true. He got tips n tricks from thug n gunna on what's popping. That trapped beat but some good to hear lyrics playable in the clubs in the street and in the radio. That's one thing he craft well. Putting a good catchy lyrics n good tune beats to make one go that's goes hard.
You delivered this perfectly ❤
Street rap is not dying. It's evolving. People like Est Gee, Veeze, Babyfxce E, Babysmoove, Babyface Ray, EBK Jaaybo, and Jdot breezy will take over.
baby smoove is goated fr
Gunna will never fall off. Gotcha his own lane.
He should switch to rapping over different styles of beats.
finesse two times also. Sounds like they rap on the same beat
It all went wrong at 👋 "HeeeeEEEYYYyyy"
Nah something definitely changed in his Music. He fired someone important, its like he lost his musical ear.
Gunna
Gunna, I wish they would work together again
This guy was the man pre pandemic days he peaked in 2021 and people just stopped caring for him after.
Make Hip-hop Great Again! ✊🏽
Been watching your videos since 2017, glad you're back to posting
Anybody that popped off during Covid is hurting rn facts
Your voice is so relaxing ☺️
Lil Baby sounds the same in every song shit gets boring‼️

Every rapper has a shelf life… waves change.. music changes.. its life💯💯
The industry is opposing him and won’t promote him anymore since that party he attended, something went wrong
Your UA-cam looking live keep pushing bro
3:13 but when he dropped Bigger Picture everyone tuned in. If he had gone that route maybe we would have been looking at him for that type of content. But even baby himself said he won’t go down that path sadly so ig it’s a mute point
Appreciate your channel bro
facts, only cult like fan bases will carry an artists career, too bad few can get that nowadays
Ayo shout out to Blacky because I remember those days when you only knew his voice..fast forward, he put out a rap song and you started seeing his face more and more. Stay lit dawg
It's not to late for Le Baby, He needs to make a video Apologizing to DJ Akademiks.
What?🤨
You know how to articulate your points bro, subbed
Bad take
Happy that your drop another banger 🙏🔥🔥 Lil baby still awesome tho
Getting groped by billionaires made me turned off.
I firmly believe little baby has woken up in the sense of graduating from college and really educating himself which I think the community needs to be here for! I think what he's really trying to say is he's learned a lot and realizes that what he says might not be the actual ticket to what he wants to do now.
My boy blacky i remeber them days they called you white 😅
Well said on this documentary
It seems like street rappers are kinda falling off, especially drill music. i think people are finally getting tired of the negativity, its the same repetitive subjects matter and beats over and over, its boring now.
drill is definitely ovr with lol , i think durk kinda sealed the deal with that one
Hopefully the bar is finally being raised again and real talent makes a comeback
Baby doesn’t have range imo. He doesn’t experiment with different sounds
Yes he does

Face reveal caught me off guard
you and helloyasine came so far man. been on ya trail since like idk, im 30 now, i tuned in around 20`21 yo. shit man, you showing face now. salute to you.
People think Lil Baby is 🗑️ and repeats himself alot but that's not my problem 😂
No the quality isn’t just good
That does play a part.
No people just matured and grew up, ppl gotten bored of the generic trap sound
Which is understandable cuz that shits been going on since gucci mane popularized it in the late 2000s
Rapper fall off is ok
Being a present father brother & mentor never gets old
I always thought lil baby was trash and overrated Dababy better than him
The problem is everyone is bored of hiphop right now there needs to be a new wave a new thing just like the previous generation
Maybe we dont want Babies anymore maybe we want grown men 😂 2:05
