  • Here is a rough video of my 1976 Mazda RE Capella RX2. Mostly to keep track of what has been done to it.
    Purchased it around September 2017.

    Very nice! My first car was a bright ass red 1976 Mazda Capella. Such a fun car. It screamed along.

    It's times like these I wish I knew more about cars! Haha most of what you said about the technical stuff went right over my head, but it looks amazing mate. I can't believe how clean the engine looks, all my cars engines were pretty much black! LOL Same goes for all the body work, I don't think I've ever owned a shiny car, mine were all old, dented and/or scratched. I can see what you mean about the upholstery and fuses now. I love your "air freshener" solution, I'd never heard of that before Haha You've done a lot of work to it already, I can't wait to see it when you're actually happy with it all.

      And when the majority of the small goes from the fabric softener, you can use it as such.
      The smell lasts a while and it's cheap.

    So nice, Pete. Yeah, that rear right quarter looks a bit of but as you say, that's old cars. Which you probably didn't quite say. Still, a good sort

    Genuine, so this must be the old BABYRX from Sydney?

      I have no idea sorry. It has been all around though. It was a QLD car during the 90's I believe. Ben Hunt seems to recall building a 13B bridgeport for it at some stage. Mazfix did the 13BT conversion. I think it went to Sydney, then to Melbourne (here it got the Acbron coilovers in it and "round 1" of the retrimmed interior). It then came to QLD again and I purchased it off that guy.
      If you know of Grassroots garage, there is a S4 genuine RE Capella (silver car) on there. That guy (I have spoken to him before, but his name escapes me) knew a previous owner of this one. He posted pics of his and this car, saying it was rare to have 2 S4s in the same picture. My mate who works on this, also works on another genuine S4, I need to sort something out to get both of these cars together.

      Howsit? Haven't done much to it, if anything since this video.
      Had some shitty luck, wife broke both ankles (2 surgeries), so I was doing all the running around for pretty much everything. Was working nuts hours as well, when I shouldn't have been. It all came to a screeching halt in August when I had a heart attack.
      Certainly made me re-evaluate a lot of things.
      I have a new fuel tank for this, that is at my mates workshop, changing a few things (not really exciting. One thing I am in the process of doing, is swapping out that crappy catch can for a proper oil-air separator setup.
      Cheers

    nice car mate! i have one on the way exactly like yours just a different colour combo - that front RE badge is that stock? mine has the same badge yours has on on the rear on the front aswell, also you should do a video of her running - once again beautiful car bud!

    • @peteanderson2533
      @peteanderson2533  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you, yes, I believe it is the stock badge. It was on there when I got the car, but have seen them on others of this year.
      Sadly don't get to drive it much these days due to how life is, but I do love the thing.
      Got to replace the outer door handles, may have found some (at a fair price).

    • @peteanderson2533
      @peteanderson2533  4 роки тому

      Depends on where you live, in Australia and New Zealand, expensive AF. America, heaps cheaper.
      Also model, my "S4" dogbone model is not worth as much as an earlier round tail.
      I think mine (at honest, "for sale" price, not the "my wife told me to sell" price) would be worth $35-40k.
