I've just found this clip of dancing machine and the J5 are incredible. MJ is the real Dancing Machine. I came to the conclusion that the 60's, 70's, 80's was the years where everything was better. the music, the films, the people, life and the list keeps going.

When Carol Burnett one of America's Greatest Comediennes saw Michael perform and do The Robot, she said "Something Special Is Going To Happen To Michael" how right she was. Also in the 1970's if you were a Singing Star you did The Tonight Show, American Bandstand, Soul Train, The Midnight Special. He did The Robot on virtually every single show but they didn't show him on The Tonight Show doing it. It was when Johnny Carson was on Holiday and Bill Cosby was the "Substitute" Host. It was a comeback for them especially since Michael's Voice changed. They also did a residency in Las Vegas and in 1975 they "left" Motown while Jermaine stayed. They got slapped with a 20 Million Dollar Lawsuit because they didn't fulfill the terms and legalities of The 1968 Standard Contract. They also lost the rights to the name Jackson Five saying it was agreed that "Motown" would acquire the name of The Group. They finally settled in 1981 for $500.000.00.
This is an awesome old performance. As far as not tripping over the cord, often these were lip-syncing performances to either the actual studio recording or an alternate recording of the song - that’s just the way most of the old shows were with a few exceptions. So, the mics the singers have when they are dancing don’t usually have the cord.
Michael's bones must be rubber tubes judging by his movements!! Plus, he seems to defy the laws of gravity a little. That alone gives him the edge over most of us mortals.
