- A friend of mine suggested that I should tell about the many places I have lived and traveled to. I have done this already in some no-talking videos but this person wanted to hear me speak about it and expound on the details.
This was not an easy task because I have got my own timetable a bit mixed up from so many years ago. But, yes, I have moved over 30 times in my life.
I have visited almost every state in the USA. What a life!
We will hear page turning, crinkly water damaged paper, soft spoken commentary.

I live in Oroville, CA and when you mentioned Paradise my heart fell. It was one of the hardest times in my seven years of living in CA. The fire, so called Campfire, was large and spread vast across the valley. The fire was something of its kind, but the heavy smoke drove all the surrounding towns and cities away for nearly a month. Two weeks after Campfire was out, I went to see the leftovers and ruins of homes and cars. Paradise is now rebuilding and will hopefully be the beautiful place it always was. My heart goes out to your sister and hope she is well. Your memories in your mother’s home will always stay with you all ❤️

Thanks for the Colorado shout out! Born and raised on the western slope, and have lived in Denver most of my adult life. Kaua'i is my favorite place on the planet so far. Christmas 1989 with my family, February into March on a solo trip (freshly separated from the mistake I married) in 2008. I finally got to take the right man for me in December 2018.💖 He fell in love with it too. 💞

Hi Rebecca! Among all your videos I've watched till now, I think this one is my favorite. You're telling your experiences so well. It was very captivating, like in a road movie. I particularly like the part where you talk about your gift shop, because you show us some photos. I wish you could show us more from the different places you lived or traveled to.
It's so sad what happened to your houses and all these people in Paradise... I hope your sister is doing well now if she's still living there.
And how about these wonderful parks and forests ? are they okay? I heard about those terrible fires in US and Canada...

My sister in Paradise is thriving well. I haven’t heard anything about the national parks being destroyed. Not the major ones in the Sierras. I think Yellowstone national Park is the only noteworthy place that was burned years and years ago. But that was in Wyoming/Montana. Otherwise, basically it seems like all of the foothill forests of California have burned! It’s amazing.
I do have a request coming up for “my life in pictures“. Maybe you’ll enjoy that.
I love this video. When I was younger, I would spend hours looking through maps and plotting routes all over the place. Good times. I really need to hear the Fargo story, though! I am intrigued.

Woww! That's so crazy you lived in Paradise! I was born in Feather River Hospital and was raised in Oroville (now live in Roseville). My sister got her master's at Chico state and lives there. I can definitely see Paradise having that country vibe that you like. So sad what happened with the Camp Fire burning it basically to the ground.

Hi. Tuned in to relaxing crinkles and then Omg! when you said your father became an engineer.... my first thoughts were.oh gosh... being an engineer in the USA you could get into the space program!!! I am in the UK but it is something I've always been interested in....next thing you said was about his (your dad) connection to the space module! What an incredible thing when synchronicity shows up again and again in life.

Long story short: Then fear dissolved while I was literally bed ridden at the time, ill and only watching tv .. with my astronaut DVDs... the wonderful Gene Cernan (RIP)❤️ saying "never count yourself out"...As I began to get well. synchronicity ever since... still at the start of this awakening... and I am alligning.🌍✨🙏

I loved Montana! I went on a cross country road trip in 2012 and we stayed in Bozeman while visiting Yellowstone which is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been! We were there in June and it snowed, that was a shock for a Carolina girl like me 😆 My dad grew up in Newport News, we visited when I was a kid along with Williamsburg and Jamestown.
Oh wow! I love that you love Yellowstone! When I lived in Montana there were a couple of years we had no summer to speak of. Snow in June does not surprise me.
Now that you’ve been there, you need to go see the California redwoods on the west coast. Put it on your bucket list.
The Carolinas are the only states besides Virginia that I have not been to. Oh and Texas and Florida.

Yes! He was blessed with the fortitude he needed. A very sad time as the entire town was burnt. Many people died. When I lived there years ago we had a standby for evacuation. It was overwhelming. Now I keep my important documents in a fireproof safe. These events can be learned from but sometimes people get emotionally scarred.

Dear Rebecca, instead of enjoying this softly spoken video for a nap (it's 4:15 p.pm. in Portugal), I rellay enjoyed listening to your travelling stories, as if I were listening to a good friend telling me the story of her life... your voice is so calm and soothing, even when you almost burst into quiet laughter! 😍 The USA is a really huge country, with so many different landscapes, comparing to mine! It must not be easy to have your family so separated, I don't know how you cope with it. Anyway, when travelling I also prefer the car, it is tiring but gives you the opportunity to stop and go as you like. Please forgive my ignorance: does it snow in Portland TN? Have you ever done an ASMR video with sounds of walking on snow? Here in Sintra it never snows, only in the north of Portugal, and I have walked on snow only two times in my life (I'm 51 years old),but Iloved the sound it makes, being crushed under my feet. You are right about the children and my family. I spent a few years crying. Literally. I finally found out that there is life after family. It’s just a good thing they’re not dead and they’re only an airplane flight away.
It does snow here! And I’m looking forward to making a snow walking video. Every once in a while we’ll get through a winter without snow. But I have a feeling this year we are going to have a bit of it. 👍👍👍😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️

You lived in many places near where I’ve lived. I was born in Santa Rosa and grew up in Redding. It was incredibly sad to hear of all the fires up there a few years ago. I live in So Cal now so I wasnt there during them.
And when was 8, my family and I moved from Ca to Virginia. But less than 2 years later we moved back. And we drove the whole way back, using our atlas. This reminded me of that trip! :) It was quite eye opening to experience the vastness of our country at such an impressionable age.
As a westerner, how do you enjoy Tennessee? My family and I are considering moving there!

Then you are very familiar with the areas that I am. I have a daughter that is living in Redding right now. I went there many times when I lived in paradise because my daughter went to Simpson College. I have 2 nieces that live there also. So that’s where you are right now still?
The south versus California is like night and day. There is more here to be appreciated financially & spiritually. As you probably know, the seasons are far more marked and dramatic here. I would say that this is a great place to raise children. I prefer the political atmosphere here too. So much to love about Tennessee. But honestly, I would drop everything in a heartbeat if I could live affordably in California. There’s so much grandeur and splendor in that one state alone. And it isn’t a long drive to get to any of it. I miss my arid summers and the beauty and smell of the pine trees. I absolutely despise humidity.
Here, fall and spring are like nothing I have ever experienced. The colors, the smells, the lightning bugs, it’s all so magical. But it is just too dang short. Winters pretty nice here because there’s such a variety of temperatures. The bare trees have a beauty of their own. I spend most of my time indoors here in the south.
So how’s that for honesty? Lol 😂

I am formerly from Charleston, SC (like NOLA's sweeter, less worldly cousin, highly recommend you visit!), and before moving to Norway lived in the SF Bay Area. It is too expensive to move back there, but I dearly miss the warmth and sunshine. Hoping to settle up near Grass Valley or perhaps Clearlake.
My mama was born in Charleston! Or close by. I have a relative in Kill Devil Hills? I think it’s called. On the coast. Anyway, I dearly love and miss Northern California. There are so many places to choose from in the foothills like Clear Lake. My daughter just moved here from Redding. More people are leaving California than are moving to it. Money and politics. It’s in a huge upheaval right now as you might know.

A lot of politics involved, but I still prefer the ones over there versus the ones in the Deep South (though I miss my homestate dearly). I moved to Norway unintentionally. I came to visit my Norwegian fiance right before COVID hit and just kind of got stuck here. Now we're married and live here for the time being. :)

Hi Rebecca! I was watching a documentary the other day about howard hughes and that was very interesting. I was always under the impression that he was weird...but he wasnt at all weird he just had alot on his mind. He changed the world ! Its neat that your dad was involved in the first lunar module landing and im sure alot of other projects! I also found your history very interesting...you have much depth.ps... I feel like you do about florida, never interested me, although ive been there a couple times...it was more to visit my merchant marine 2nd husband while he was in officer school and then anotherr time for daytona which isnt my thing either...and when i was 18 i was in miami partying because my birthday happened and the drinking age was was 19 so i could drink legally for the first time for a couple days til my girlfriends and my vacation was over haha! Nope, wasnt worth the hangover that would have killed most..lol😁😆oh! I was married in kauai to my second husband and we were the a month...in feb in 94......what a coincidence!

Great video - reminded my of my travels when I was younger - wish I could do more traveling - and of course now all/any travels plans I had to Alaska this year had to be canceled - can't really do 3 planes and a ferry with this virus. I am so glad you loved Maine/New England. I went for years with my father when I was younger, living in upstate NY it only took about 5-5.5 hours to get there. We went to Kennebunk, York, Ogunquit, Wells, I fell in love. Now being 23 I want to move there 😂 but maybe it’ll be my retirement state, in the meantime I would LOVE to visit Acadia National Park there.

New York is a lovely state to visit if you ever get the chance! Especially during the Fall time, its apple picking/apple cider drinking, donut eating, pumpkin picking cozy time here!!
In the middle of the video when I get to the “N’s” I explain how I have been to New York. Several times in fact I’ve been there. Rochester and New York City. I know that it is lovely.

@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction There's nothing wrong with that either. I use GPS from time to time to but it can be faulty. I ended uo going in a complete circle one time because it said "turn right, turn right, turn right, turn right." I was right back where I started. Sometimes it's nice to look at maps the old-fashioned way and use your brain and your eyes to find your way. I kind of miss that.
My husband would agree with you with a resounding yes and that he misses good old fashion maps.

i’m sorry to hear about your homes being burned down 😞 was that forest fire recent? california has so much bad fires that i can’t remember the exact dates on them. in phoenix/AZ, we get forest and brush fires but nothing compared to cali. 😞
also, i loved that you have traveled all over the US and even lived in some parts. also like that you chose rural areas. i’m not a fan of big cities. they’re nice to visit but i cannot live in a city anymore. too much pollution and noise. i need my nature, peace, and quiet. 😃

@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction I used to write a feature section called " a spoonful" (on something positive) in an old high school paper. It was named after a spoonful of sugar from Mary Poppins. When I started there were 3 writers for that section but the other two graduated. So the editor called me "just one spoon" after that. I have always kinda liked it!
