There is one big diference. With ROTATOR NV682 it's much easier to vacuum under the furniture (bed, soffa, cofee table). With one easy step, you remove the handheld canister, and continue cleaning under the furniture. With NAVIGATOR this takes 3 steps: 1.detach the pipe, 2.remove handheld canister, 3. attach pipe to the floor nozzle. Then to attach it back another 3 steps. So its 6 steps vs 2.

Thank you for this video as well as the explanation in the description! It was more helpful and concise than anything I could find.

Love this video. I’ve owned 4 Sharks now in my cleaning business, different models, always wondered what the differences were because I never noticed any. Would be great if you could update and add the newest models, ex. Shark Duoclean!!

You forgot that the shark navigator UV540 HAS led lights and was made BEFORE the newest navigator powered lift-away DLX.

With ROTATOR when you remove the handheld canister the pipe is still attach to the floor nozzle. NV682 not NV501

Why O why are there so many models , ? They all just a tool to pick up dust? Perhaps shark want you to buy one for every room in the house? Lol

Haha. You're right though, too many models. It makes my head spin.

Agreed, completely ridiculous the number of models they have. They only need like 4 models, yet they have 400 models 🙄

If you go on their site now, there's only a few models for every type of vacuum (for example, there''s only 2 Navigator and 2 Rotator models), but another site like Walmart has 6 new Navigators (and a bunch of "restored" models) and 4 new Rotators.
So, it's most likely that Shark only pushes a small handful of models THEY want to sell, but are willing to continue manufacturer older models or retailer specific models that are based off those models just to get shelf space.

None of them sweep thick carpet. You can reduce power to nothing to get across the carpet but then you are not cleaning any more.

Been using the NV501 Rotator since 2018. Been working great. Now I need a small light weight with hepa filter for under 200. Almost impossible to find. Even the same NV501 I bought costs more now

So the question is, does the larger cylinder filter on the Rotator take longer to clog?

Trying to find a bagless vacuum for our new plush/soft carpet. We currently have a cheap-ish model of the the Shark Navigator, and while we've loved it in the past, it's just not doing so well on our new carpet (difficult to push, leaving a lot behind). When looking at reviews, I found one in favor of the Shark Rotator, NV680, for dealing with plush carpet. I was surprised to see it on the list, seeing as how our current vacuum isn't doing so well. Thoughts?

even on old ones, that seem to be "not doing well", people miss cleaning one of the possible clog points... and then they take off again, amazing machines...

Loosen the suction on your navigator, it will work perfect.
Always make sure canister, rolling brush, and filters are clean.
I blow my vacuums out frequently with air compressor

hello and thank you for all of your truly helpful and awesome videos! I have an issue i was hoping you could help with, Shark seemed to have stopped making my favorite NV341 do you know which is the closest vacuum to it? i recently purchased and returned the apex because it was so heavy and hard to maneuver, my 341 zips around and makes vacuuming fast and fun i was sweating after using the apex i did like the zero-m feature a lot. So far the closest i can find is the NV501 but read it is bulkier and heavier, is there one similar to my nv341 with the zero-m tech?
sorry for the lengthy question i have been researching for days and thought it was time to just ask specifics to the pros

There isn't much difference at all. I swapped a navigator motor for a rotator motor. Only had to insure the hot and neutral wires stayed the same...

This video isnt the best for the "best" I have other vids but basically I like the NV803 Shark the most though the new APEX models are great too, just heavier.
