    Question : why in Zth you consider the impedances in parallel while in calculating i2 you consider total impedances as in series? the current divider = Is *( z of other branch / total impedances ) . one you took them as in parallel and one you took them as in series ?!

      To find Zth you first remove the current source and then you find the impedance between a and b. There are 2 paths to go from a to b, and therefore those 2 branches are in parallel.
