Watching this video in silence while listing to The Housebuilding Song by David Furguson. Just perfect!
Love your videos. Reigniting the inspiration in me that has dimmed. So grateful, thank you.
Beautiful...
Great build job well done
Very Well Done!
Really admire the team work. The same thing they did with the "$2500 rustic tiny house". I am certain this house is cool inside. 3rd video on this channel in a row and counting..
Awesome simply living!
Incredible :)
amazing!!
Good job! I love time lapses.. Fantastic building a house with a plastic bag concept. I guess it makes the building process super fast. :-O
Wow, this is really cool.
Lovely!
Fantastic! I’d like one of those 🙂
Wonderful! I'm going to make one of these as a playhouse for my children. :)
Thats awesome
I just had a great idea for this little house.
Nice job 😄
Great video! Could advise me on what those final layers, spread by hand over the earth bags are? Just soil and water? clay perhaps?
the beauty
How do you prepare the ground before beginning the building part, please?
love the video and the music, who composed the music?
Did u use 3 kinds of plaster.? And what kind of mixture did u use?
Cool time-lapse. How many square feet is it?
This is siiiiiiick! :D
I am wondering if anyone knows the cost of hiring labor for this type of house? Thanks.
Would have been nice to see the inside finish.
What's the song called?
How long did this take?
Where can I find an explanation on what this is built from . I'm guessing the plastic bag is filled with mud or dirt?Very interesting really. Thank You for showing this. Makes you wonder why there should be Homeless people in any state.Unless for mental health reasons.
simple if we house them for cheap it lowers the value of "proper" homes lowering the demand so that the price goes down
Short version economics said you need to be homeless so the capitalists can thrive

read their book.; It's great
3d print houses cost 10k and built in 24 hours but would never be allowed in cities...
i had never heard of earth bag homes till this video. and yes what a great song. pls tell us the title and artist.
There is a family here on UA-cam , they have added onto their home as well as build several earthbag buildings on their property. ua-cam.com/channels/r9ib9quyHJkEchOck4PG2w.html
awesome job :) whats the song name by the way?
The eaves don't look sufficient. Will it protect the walls from rain?
What is the mixture in the bag….sand, clay, and water ? …dirt n water ? Thanks
I would so love to do something like this. Unfortunately it wont happen in this life time. Oh well. Still info I can pass along to grandkids
For all the things we do wrong, Humans are still quit amazing. We really have great abilities and projected for benefits that are communal as well as environmental and yes still individual can break the mold of transactional living and promote stewardship and a wholistic prosperity.
Where do you get those bags?

what kind of music in this video. track title !!!!
This is a great video, thanks for posting. Can you tell me how long in "real" time it took to build?
We are doing the finishing touches at the moment after working on and off on it since last October. It could have been done a lot faster if we weren't busy with other things.
@@happenfilms So the answer to the question?
Yes what song did you use to edit this?
Songs are not used for editing, software is.
I would love to live off grid in a house like this.
you would not love building it
i need help with my roof
How long did this actually take?
How Many people participated?
is that concrete or stucco on the outside
Cob
Where do you get such huge rolls of earth bags!
One place to find them: calearth.org/shop
I was wondering how many manhours this took for you and the people that helped you. Did you hire a team or were they friends or family that helped you? If you hired a team, did you have to teach them the method, and did hiring them add significantly to the costs? I'd really like to build a house like this, but I am questioning if it is too unrealistic to finish a house all by myself. However, I'm wondering how one goes about hiring a team to build it, since it is an unconventional building method, and they wouldn't be trained. I am also concerned about the costs of hiring a team to help, and am wondering how much it would add to the costs of the house alone. Sorry for so many questions. Lol! Thanks!
I don't actually know what they did here, but it looked like a class or learning opportunity to me. Volunteers who come together to learn how to build with earth bags. The goal isn't to built that structure, that was just the training project.
How do you keep the windows from sagging? Is there a structural support?
Michael Cahill it hardens
A lintel
The weight can be an issue. Use a strong lintel like a 4x4 if you have many layers above the window. A 2x4 is often not enough.
Song name?
Where did you get your bags? I have been looking for it for several months.
ua-cam.com/video/FlyILFIhTfs/v-deo.html
what us the name of the song?
song credit?
I want to be a part of something like this very badly.
then get some friends buy a few acres of land and a metric fuckload of sand bags there like 5 cents a bag
start a commune
I think all you need is a week off work, a shovel, some sandbags, and a table saw.
@@thomasanderson7562it took like 30 people in this video to build that likely took about a week. On your own....not sure
Too small for me. I built a cabin 18x20 it was about right. Maybe ok in tropics where one can live outside but in -80 windchill I like my 1250 sq ft bylevel. I get excercise when it is so cold for long periods. Not for me.
Is there like anything you could do to make this into a full time house?
Zomb Slaya live in it full time
You're just missing running water, electricity, cooking space, and sanitation facilities. It is a cute bedroom/living room though. Just not enough space inside to cook.
@@randzopyr1038 people in India, Africa, etc. would disagree with you.
Yes. If they used buttresses then they could add on to the structure later. In many states an earthbag dwelling is accepted in the code. It all depends on your local code. Sometimes having separate buildings gets you around restrictions like if you put the kitchen in a separate building. Simple answers to necessities are drilling a well, septic system, compost toilet, and solar. It is very do-able!
This is a house like my bathtub is a lake.
With 20 people working 8 hours days how fast could one of these be constructed
+Nashah Yasharahla Depending on skill level, you could probably do it in 3 weeks to a month.
would you mind giving me a call getting ready to start an offgrid community 3314424622
+Happen Films Wouldn't that add up to 3200 man hours? Kinda labor intensive.
Where will your community, be?
Oie de Etudiant Arizona region
I didn't know plastic was "eco."
20 people build a closet in 2 days!!!!
No light pipes....completely passive and free. A bit stupid.
Too much work.
Concrete 🤢
