Underrated song, Underrated musician. Nick Beggs genius.
Totally agree about Beggs and the song.
Had no idea about this one ....defly love the keyboard beginning
I absolutely love it! ❤
Absoluty amazing. I love this song. Nick Beggs is a perfect musician
Kajagoogooo's music is prototype of music 80'th! Excellent!
The last 2 kajagoogoo albums are such treasures in their own unique way and Nick Beggs and company take this iconic 80s band in a totally wonderful new melodic direction and boy this band had some amazing musicians to
Islands is absolutely amazing and melodic album, every single tune is legendary, it's 2020 and it's still in my headphones🥰 I totally think Kajagoogoo post Limahl was underestimated and Nick Beggs is real cool😎
I agree with you. I still listen to it today as I did in 1984! Amazing band with Nick Beggs in lead role.
@@guymichel8533 😌🙏
I agree, a great album. Loved it in 1984 and still do.
I was gutted when Turn your Back on me only got to number 47 in the chart.
@David Chatterton Absolutely agree with you
@@greg27zz In the UK yeah, at least it was a hit single in other countries like: Germany, Holland, + Sweden.
Who's still listen to in 2024???
Always amazing
Never stop, it's just brilliant 🎶🎶🎶
They were way ahead of their time. Still ❤️ 'em! 80s Gimme that bloody bass! Eargasmic!!!! ❤️
Istina, ovo je jedna od grupa što je udarila kamen temeljac muzici 80-tih. Šteta što se danas slabo vete.
This Bass ? How much can it play ?
He is amazing..
Haha 👍
@@gagilaki9110 😅👍
Agreed. The quintessential Beggs bassline.
I love this band. I will never get sick of their music. Im just gutted that they came and went so fast.
This song was a big hit in the U.S. club scene, despite it failing on the pop chart.
it was a big hit in Poland too
Funny how the US has all these different charts, here in the UK we just had one chart with every type of music in it.
@@ajs41 He didn't mention other US charts. Although the UK has other charts too, Classical, Rock, Independent, Dance etc. Just not as high profile.
@@ajs41 As someone from the UK, you must know we had other charts apart from the UK top 40-really confused!
This song should’ve gone higher in the charts. I may not have been there but I know I would’ve enjoyed seeing them on totps in the 80’s
Was a shame about the UK charts, getting outside the top 40 but at least it was a hit single in: Germany, Belgium, + Holland!
Very impressed! That bassline is friggin awesome!
this is so delightfully 80s i cant get enough hahhaha
This band is completely underrated. Their music is unique
is it? Where are they now then? Gone, so shows how great they were.
@@sallyjoan that doesn't even make sense. the fact that a band isn't active after 40 years (or not as much) doesn't have anything to do with how great their music was.
@@kingperalta great music, hahahaha!
gorgeous and actually play their instruments.
Nick Beggs on the Chapman Stick. Pure class.
This second incarnation with the bassist as the lead vocalist sounds like a mix between Duran Duran, Tears for Fears and the early electronica form of Depeche Mode.
Love Kajagoogoo & its an 80s work of art...the video ❤🎼🎥 Thxs
Wow, I remember this song! Still sounds great! I really enjoyed Kayagoogoo's sound.
Great video of kajagoogoo and just show's how great there music was and still is ☘️🇨🇮
This is one of my favorite Kajagoogoo songs that Limahl didn't sing lead on, I really like how it sounds!
Nick Beggs’ hair was awesome in this!
Look up under 'Nick Beggs' channel at yt, where he makes fun of people cold calling him. He has great hair nowdays too.
Have you seen the pippi longstocking pigtails? I think he's moved on from them now, thank god.
Jeez Nick Beggs and the rest of the band are darn good looking. Even today they still look great. Nick Beggs has an amazing voice. Edgier and I like that
昔から大好きな曲
Great song. Timeless.
Oh 1980's how I miss you!
once upon a time..in the 80s..there was a very young man, who´´s the best bass player....
I came of age during the 1980s & never knew about the sheer raw talent of Kajagoogoo until the third decade of the 21st century.
They had mad skills to pay the bills back in the day.
🤔😳🤣🤣🤣
the greatest vocals on MTV absolutely phenomenal
I didn't realize there was another version of this video. I like it.
101Strings This is the American version of the music video. The band had shortened its name to Kaja by then and their Islands album was totally repackaged and released with the new title Extra Play there. The music video is also set to a remix made for the song’s American single release done by producers Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero.
Europe has another better version :)
@@tchefo nope.. This is definitely the best version video wise. And the two mixes are not that different that it matters. But the vids never really went with how classy the music was. This video is the first one to do that. The bits that seem out of place is all the UK stuff. The guy who did the US video had some good ideas. I wish they'd used him from the get go..
@@ebbhead20 I like the original version too and I'm glad this version includes scenes from that one.
Gracias 80" y kajagoogoo
Very under-rated song.
Their best! Love this song
First album like Duran Duran, second like Prince. Had both eons ago, still remember Kajagoogoo as something that could have been incredibly great but for some strange reason faded into obscurity, none of their members securing anything afterwards.
Killer bass line. Great tune, still sounding fresh and distinctive... you've got to love Kaja!
this edition of nick beggs is so yes.... the hair. the nose stud. the big fucken shoulder pads. the shirt unbuttoned just enough to reveal the top part of his chest.... good jesus
♡ Kajagoogoo is my go-to band :) ♡
I'd love to see them play in Ireland
As a Japanese junior high school student, I had this vinyl record and listened to it often.
I wanted to listen to it for a long time, so I searched and found it😆
talented musicians
look at that stick…way ahead of their time
The Kaja albums were (still are) great!
they're so pretty what
ikr sjskjajajs
i agree
Nice guys
The epitome of an 80's music video. Pretty boys and all.
Exactlyyy
Está canción tiene dos versiones del video. Temazo. El bajo es tremendo.
This hits hard during quarantine
Nick Beggs is a master.
Love it - what a bass line!
Gota love the 80's!!!!!!!!!!!!! ¡
Kajagoogoo's most powerful song!
KAJAGOOGOO
"TURN YOUR BACK ON ME"
*ISLANDS (c)1984
They should make a come back great band and great music
Nick Beggs is a genius
Great Nick Beggs.
Kenny Omega can sing, dance and wrestle what a man!
This channel always give me music I like💃
So nice 👏
Perfeito demais ❤
Amazing Song.
ニックめっちゃイケメンだなぁ
One of the guitars, as seen at 0:36, is a Chapman Stick : a guitar with a very wide neck, many separate strings (both bass and treble), meant to be played with two "left hands" (just pressing).
Turn your back on me yeah
Turn your back on me yeah
Loved you like no other
I loved you like a brother
What do I discover?
I know I won't recover
I can't help myself

The first time i heard this it was in a Mix on WGCI Chicago gotta love the magic of the 80’s
Pleasant surprise there, with hints of R&B and funk I can probably see it getting some spins on a few R&B mixes and stations.
@@UltraPOPDJ The Hotmix 5 and others would spin this stuff in their DJ sets, they played everything from italo, electro, house, industrial etc… I doubt GCI or BMX would of played it doing normal hours but the late night mix sessions was everything dance under the sun ☺️
Just GREAT!😋😉
Nice song !
One of my best songs from Kajagoogoo,Always see them on Social Media a lot lately,Remember them from the early 1980's
Brilliant album 🎉was islands
So 80s so good
Damn I wish I was born 20 years earlier (was born in 81). Would have been nice to experience the 70s and 80s as a teen and young adult.
Even if it means I'd be much older now, I don't care; I hate this new millennium anyway. Fuck it.
That made me laugh!! Class comment.
FunkYeah probably you are right. I was born in 70s and I was listening to this kind of music as a child. How I loved the music. In that time there were so many grate bands. Now I'm frustrated with the people and their way of thinking. The world is dying because of people fears and mentality.
You are right😉😁😁
I was born in December 1978 and was listening to 80s music from 1983 onwards.
Wowza I've never seen them with these looks!
Love❤
THIS IS GREAT
この頃のUKは神がかってた。
カジャグーグー、カルチャークラブ、デュランデュラン、ワム…若い力がそのメロディセンスを思う存分発揮してた。
名曲が溢れていたいい時代でした。
Amo este tema.❤
Both singers lead vocals was great.
リマールの時も良いが体勢変えたこれ1番好き当時に戻れる🎉
The band has reunited
koukimonzta and disbanded once again
Iv never seen them reunited I'd love to see them come to Ireland
If I remember, they became Kajaa when Limahl left the band.
Love the video
Once KG , always KG
I wanna go back to my 1985
me too!
This one's got the Funk Afterburner!!
Incredible track and love the video. Great Nile Rodger's style guitar riff. I think David Icke would be all over the lizard and masonic imagery in the vid!
But the masons won't turn their back on us ;)
Woww cool
Hola fan de Kajagoogoo

I love this song, the flute makes it unique..
jupiter patch not a flute
Wtf did I just discovered ? Does heaven sounds like this or what ? I love every single song of this band
This feels severely underrated. This is another universe ytmnd's spin me right round.
THE ALBUM ISLANDS IS A CAPOLAVORO.
This version of the song is the best.
This version of the vid has MTV written all over it 😎
MadameSomnambule i get where your coming from
jez strode looks amazing in this
Al fin encontré está Canción😅😎
There were 5 til lead singer got kicked. Thankfully they reunited to do some shows together and settle the hard break-up.
Bkn la cancion..no sabia de quien era..solo escuchaba Too shy...
Concert 1984 Wroclaw / Poland ❤️
Just discovered this band! Hey, this is interesting!
この映像初めて観た!
違うバージョンは見た事ありますが、
これは初めてです。私も
3:00 Totally scared the willies out of me seeing that steam train heading to his living room when the door springs open. Oh Buck Rogers!
i love you !!
2:57 excellent.
Kajagoogoo could have been mega stars but they sacked limahl it went against them, good musicians but you needed you're vocal point and charisma that was Limahl.
Agreed. Limahl had a child-like wonder that connected to the audience. These guys are brilliant but standoffish. Beggs sings well, but his timbre is better suited to harmonies. Easy to point the finger in hindsight though lol
Never saw this Version. Looks newer than the more (kinky) british version, wich was broadcasted in germany back in the days. Love the music
