You have the ability to make things interesting, easy to understand, and quick to learn. I just subscribed to the channel and activated the bell. Please, keep doing this superb job!
Thank you for the video! Just realised that I'd do Light and Dark mode by actually adding Mode property with 2 options instead of Dark Mode: True/False. Do you use True/False in all binary cases? And what if the component acquires a new state and the property becomes nonbinary, is there a way to scale it properly?
I always try to do true/false, yes/no, or on/off when I can, but there are definitely times where it just doesn’t make as much sense, especially if a third option is needed. Personally, I think that’s a totally ok strategy!
Hey Joey! Thanks for the amazing video series. I have a small question regarding nested components. When I'm trying to edit my nested component by adding a new icon to a button group. It didn't allow to do so. Do I need to make that change for the Master Component? or Is there any other way to add new things into nested components? Also, I've another question if I need to create hover, active and disabled states related to a button, what is the best way for that? Varients ? or Instance Swapping? What's your approach to this?
Hey Joey! I'm so glad that i find you on UA-cam. This is really helpful. I work at a sass company working on creating components for the platform. I'm encountering situations where when mocking out screens, I need buttons that is responsive to content, but also situations where I need buttons that needs to be able to stretch manually. However, when created into components, there is that limitation preventing me from stretching. With that, I have to create two of the same components. I really would like to know is there a way around this? Hope to hear from you, thank you!
Heya! My recommendation would be to create Auto Layout enabled buttons that have a fixed with, and then, if a designer needs to use them in a responsive design, they can be placed inside of an Auto Layout container, with the button component then set to fill container, to achieve that effect pretty easily. It's a practice you might have to encourage or teach, but once folks get the hang of it, it's so helpful!
Hey, Joey! Thanks for making these awesome videos. Love your work 😊
Thank you, that means a ton!

When should we use variants rather than instance swapping? Thanks, Joey.
I've the same question for Joey!

Hi Joey, Is there a way to add keywords to the Figma variants so that it is easy to search from the assets panel?
