- In this video we did some night wheeling in Farmington New Mexico. We didn’t get much footage because we were working the whole weekend for Trailmater. We had an eventful weekend and got home and started working on our rigs again, the maintenance never stops.

I won the ugliest truck in Sonoma county with my 66 C-20 fleet side about 20 years ago . It was a proud moment 😂
Hi Mike, that problem you are having with your buggy not starting when it is hot is usually easy to fix! Just add a "Hot Lock" kit. The problem is normally a high resistance in the starting wiring harness or connectors/ ignition circiut. If you bypass the ignition switch and associated wiring, with a relay that is activated by the small trigger wire that goes to the starter solinoid, and powered with heavy wire directly from the battery, through the relay, to the starter solinoid, it should fix your problem? Sometimes it is the terminal at the starter solinoid is either loose or "cooked" by the heat from the headers? Ken Samway. (Retired Aussie Motor Mechanic)

Congrats, that's a well-deserved First Place, Mike! 😆 I saw most of the rigs at Farmington, and I can only say kudos to the judges, lol. Seriously, the part of the Death Start's charm is the looks (as well as the fact that it's a beast).
Doing a wonderful job there and I wish you all the best. I saw a couple of stars falling. I hope you saw them too, because if you blink with your eyes and wish upon a star, you will have the luck 😊

Move upper rearend mounts about 4 inches forward.

Well Lets see here. Mike just gave me the fix for my 63 c10 hot starter,I think. The trophy plate is kool, cause you don'r win everyday, even though its a gift from above. We wont know you been hittin the mtn dew there shawn if you dont fall down when you dis mount the hooptie without the oil and sand mixture on yer boot. Thanks for sharing. Be well.

It seems when you're into this hobby you spend more time fixing than trail playing!
All awards are a important thing to a guy yet where can it be that brush doesn't tear it off or rocks beat it to death. I am discovering that rocks no matter where you go seem the same as far as types of rock. I like a channel called dirt perfect there in Indiana and he is a equipment operator. I got surprised by how much rock is in the state and how close to the surface the ground.... in other words, the soil where corn and other crops grow is mere inches below super hard rocks. Super hard to keep up on maintenance and do fun stuff. You fellows need one more lift in or close to the shop that can be blocked off of rain and wind, sun.... all the stuff that is no fun like 120+ temps or rain that tears skin when it hits the surface. If you watch the last "Make it Kustom" with Karl Fisher, they (him and a friend) going through Canada... went past a wrecking yard with all the classic chevy dodge ford cars and trucks. Tons of them in the fifties and sixties, ect up to fairly new. Many look like put a battery in and drive home but fifty plus years old. There because mileage or engine... transmissions. Not wadded up from a huge bend it all wreck. Pretty much rust free area.

I couldn't help but notice how pristine the ugliest rig award is, needs a little ball peen distress to make it blend, but the uglier the rig the better looking the driver gets. I for one like the look of Mikes rig like an old mountain lion just happy to be in the high desert. Shaun why not weld some X"s on top of the rock sliders for grip for your feet. Thanks guys for the video, it started out like I saw some UGO'S but not going to tell anybody wouldn't believe me anyway.

Your links are not setup right if they are the same lengths top and bottom...as Rory said..they need a difference of about 25% ..play with some little sticks and you will see whats happening...and the differences of the different % of lengths and what it can or cant do for you..just my 2cents thats worth nothing...
