Absolute rubbish!
Nyloc nuts should not be used in high-temperature places such as on engines where temperatures exceed about 100°C. These applications require all-metal stiffnuts.
In safety-critical applications, slotted or castellated nuts secured with a split-pin, plain nuts with a tab-washer or drilled and locked with locking-wire should be used.
For nuts that need to be removed for maintenance, a slotted or castellated nut can be used and secured with a reusable "nappy pin" type clip
All stiff or self-locking nuts may be used indefinitely provided they meet the minimum torque requirements for their size, but a general guide is that if they can be tightened by finger force only they should be discarded and replaced.
