i'am digging it! YES YES YES WTG Got my tongue hanging out YUMMY You know if it looks like CANDY > its going to be VERY GOOD I will always use my Texas Gun Powder on EVERY THING > I even put it on ham the other day OMG SO YUMMY
hey James, please help me out , I got family visiting soon. So I decided 2 change it up . I'm thinking about trying some rib candy . which is best for me ?? I really don't know because of the heat is it hot as he'll ?? keep in mind I'm not a Texan . 😁😁
I would go with the Apple Cherry Habanero Rib Candy. They have one that has twice the peppers but don’t get that one. The Apple Cherry Habanero is my absolute favorite, it’s what I use in competitions on my ribs. You get just a tad of heat but it’s not hot. I believe they have an Apple Cherry without the Habanero also. That one just proves some sweetness, but the Habanero one isn’t “hot”. Just gives it a little kick.
It's not hot at all. Most of the jellies or rib candies, when they say "hot" or something like that, it just means they have less sugar. I wouldn't even say it's a 3 on the scale

Spectacular looking ribs. What temp were you set at when you made these?
gcuervogold Thank you! I normally cook them at about 240-250 degrees

Thanks Fred! It sure is some good stuff. I was able to catch them on sale (50% off) so I stocked up on like a dozen of them. Thanks for stopping by.
Good looking ribs, is that a vinegar based sauce you were using? If so, do you mind giving the recipe?
Thanks Greg! The sauce was a commercial sauce that I doctored up, it isn't a vinegar base sauce, it's tomato base.
Where did you get that rib candy from?
At a local BBQ store but you can get it on-line from their website. Just look up Texas Pepper Jelly
aaight..Ill see if I can find it..Not paying for shipping unless its from a friend

Hey James I'm currently using the TexasRib Candy Apple Habenero right now but I got lots of others to try. Keep on Smokin #riverlife
What kind of knife is that you're using?
That’s a 12” slicing knife from Dexter.
Hey James would you use that rib candy in a competition?
Yep! Every single time. I use it on my ribs and my chicken.
Is that rib candy super spicy or just enough hint of it?
so what was the total cook time? 3.15 hrs?
Sorry, I don't remember the total cook time. I may have mentioned it in the video but I'm not sure.
its called a rub. because you rubb it in.. in the 80s that was a must lol

In Texas we don't remove the membrane
Maybe not in your part but many of us Texans do.
@@CentralTexasGrillingwe usually score it amid there have been no issues.
How hot is it from a scale of 1 to 10 as 10 being hot as hell?
It's not hot at all. Most of the jellies or rib candies, when they say "hot" or something like that, it just means they have less sugar. I wouldn't even say it's a 3 on the scale
