BREAKING NEWS: Singer/Songwriter Rob Cantor is suing Singer/Songwriter Rob Cantor because of Cantor taking the melody from Cantor’s band’s song ‘All of My Friends’ in order for Cantor to create his song ‘I’m Gonna Win.’ Not only did Cantor steal this song, but Cantor also gave no credit to Cantor and his band, and then sold it as his own. Cantor is enraged by Cantor’s actions, and the Cantor/Cantor case will be beginning on the twenty-sixth of August.
It's strange how people in the comments are like "wow this is different from the tally hall version" without realizing that there is a tally hall version of nearly these exact lyrics. Rob didn't change these lyrics drastically, these are just the latest revision. I'm in love with this version's intense tone, almost makes me wish this was done with the rest of the band, but that's just a dream
i feel like people miss that the previous songs' lyrics are actually more self-defeatist and sad than this song. This song is about how despite everything in life pushing you down you'll succeed, even out of spite. But in the previous songs the lyrics imply that all of their friends help them get through the hard times but they *literally don't have any friends and they're all in his head*. There isn't a support structure, and by the end of the song it's more like they're in denial. this is the more happy one than the previous, but the tone is way different which makes it seem more evil and cruel.
all of my friends is about a man who thinks that it's ok to supress the things going on in your head, and he tries to convince himself that everything will be fine if he does. and as the song goes on, he gets driven further and further into madness. until near the end when his "friends" offer help to him, and he realises that they were never real, and he completely breaks down
Bro just put my thoughts into words. I'm Gonna Win is positive, about someone who, dispite his hardships, fights through them while trying to come out on top. The problem comes from the way Cantor arranged the song, which makes it sound like it's being sung by a psychopath who's already lost everything years ago and only half-realizes it, thus creating a public perception of it being a villain song despite, from a lyrical perspective, being quite the opposite. If anything, All of my Friends is the villain origin song and I'm Gonna Win is the hero's song. I honestly love Rob's work both inside and outside of Tally Hall, but I personally think he messed up here (all the more odd considering it was originally Joe's song).
@@meegmoog5 YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ME YOU FUCKIN ASSHOLE (Lol jk and i understand why you'd think that from my previous comment and, i must say i kind of agree.)

Thank you rob cantor for making the song that had been motivating me in the past 2 weeks Edit:Im getting that 3am motivation from this song again thanks rob cantor
I wish I had realized sooner that this and Shia Leboeuf were the same artist. They’re two of my favorite songs of all time. I’m envious of your creativity’s range
I recently applied to my first job at the place I have always wanted my first job to be at, and they're not calling me back yet. This song gives me the hope and tenacity I need to keep going and not give up. Thanks Rob!
I come to this song every so often. When I’m at a low point, when I feel like I’m not good enough, when I’m not all together there. I use this as an anchor to start bringing myself back up.
Heard this at the end of a Startup episode and immediately looked it up because it sounded insane but never would have thought it was Rob's song how wild is that
Just found this after listening to "All of my friends". I feel conflicted with how this song changed so much, although, I prefer the tally hall version _hehe_
I put this on loop for Dark Souls 2. Ever since, it has been my theme for trudging through a horrible experience. I'll get to the other side. I'm GONNA win. It's just gonna be a horrible time along the way, like fighting World Alatreon
Two possibilities: this song is about toxic positivity, someone is pretending like they’ve got it all together and project their inner pain and turmoil onto someone else. The other: this is just a feelgood motivation song, a power anthem if you will.

Same hereeee :) @beewithagun
i was looking through this comment section just to see someone say that
Same
Yeah me too i love it so much
I listen to this every morning before teaching middle schoolers 😂
Wait ur a teacher?!?
@@Tofusproductions😂 yes
@@Bruhbruhbro47 oh okay haha
Good fucking luck to you man.
when i say that i’m OBSESSED with this song,
2:06 reminds me of the beat to ruler of everything, seems like Tally Hall really likes this guy
How do you feel and Juno was mad and stuff its all so FAMIliAR
finally someone noticed
rob is/was a member of tally hall
this song was written by joe, the same guy who wrote ruler of everything
that explains it.
Because this is technically a tally hall song
@ToeTruck You really have to wonder, what did this guy do that made him so likable by tally hall?
i thought that too and yes i know rob is from tally hall
And it all comes back to you... from listening and watching shia labeouf years and years ago. to now watching the show Startup... you sir, YOU ARE AMAZING!!
I thank you kind fellow
This is the most motivational piece of art I've ever heard in my life
Even now?
i just discovered this song i love it so much
This song is a wild ride
@@SkySloth its tally hall when is it not
Which movie/show was this in?
so glad i discovered you and your music
When the joke villain gets beat one too many times and just *snaps.*
You just predicted Spot from Across the Spiderverse
BRO IS GONNA WIN
True tho
@@Handle-z1edid you just reply to your own comment?
@@brycemozo5734 yes
@@Handle-z1e That’s sad
Thanks for introducing me to Tally Hall, internet. I recently watched the Ultimate Tally Hall documentary, which let me see their journeys through time, and all of their side projects.
I knew these 2 existed and didn't think this connected
I like this, it motivated me to go stand back up, no matter how shitty my life could get!
this makes me miss tally hall more than I already do
the fucking lore of this one band is crazy they literally creates 3 albums and this guy makes 1 album himself I can't even...
I love how evil 0:16 sounds >>:3
lol real
Thank you rob cantor for making the song that had been motivating me in the past 2 weeks
Edit:Im getting that 3am motivation from this song again thanks rob cantor
This is a perfect song for me right now. I am very grateful to Rob.
this song make me not give up on my skate career
How'd that work out for ya?
+Waterpae that may be true, but determination is far more valuable that discipline, and motivation can lead there.
I feel like we are all confused on the definition of motivation determination and discipline
How’s it going nowadays?
I listen to this when having fights with actual cannibal Shia labeouf
Noice
+TheGreatPenguin Every Tuesday night?
+Ann Droid Fighting for your life
That's rather surprising.....Shia surprising...
Legendary fight whit Shia LaBouf
sometimes when i need some determination I'll listen to this on loop with both earbuds in. i do it all the time, it really encourages me
I wish I had realized sooner that this and Shia Leboeuf were the same artist. They’re two of my favorite songs of all time. I’m envious of your creativity’s range
holy crap this is some very decent modern music he deserves to be more well know.
Rob's style sometimes reminds me of ELO and I love it.
Sounds like a misunderstood/insane villain song!
:D I love it! :D
Rob Cantor releases another audio-only video, this time for the Tally Hall never-recorded classic, I'M GONNA WIN.
I recently applied to my first job at the place I have always wanted my first job to be at, and they're not calling me back yet. This song gives me the hope and tenacity I need to keep going and not give up. Thanks Rob!
Did they ever call back?
did they call back we need to know
Did they call?
please say if they called back or not
Wow. I'm really feeling these songs by Rob Cantor. Very nice.
if you like Rob's stuff, check out his old band, Tally Hall. They've got some AMAZING stuff, too.
I come to this song every so often. When I’m at a low point, when I feel like I’m not good enough, when I’m not all together there. I use this as an anchor to start bringing myself back up.
God complex theme
Hits different when you're depressed and listening to this at 3am
The Tally Hall version hits harder 😢
I need this so badly rn, I need to know, i need to know that through all the shit and all the shame I _am_ going to win
I listen to this while I'm riding my old bike :3
+Yashiro Magimos Isana same
lord netherdrake
haha
Yashiro Channel XD
Magimos hey that's actually a good reference
Definitely sounds like the song for a villain in the making
That chorus just hits so hard tho.
reminds me of Ode to Sleep by Twenty One Pilots, how it depressing in some parts, but the chorus is happier
(Littlefoot) I did not piece them together till you mentioned it
I listen to this while I sprint into a car door over and over again.
Remake of "All of my Friends"!
Rob cantor and Tally Hall are simply sensational, how are they not popular? Today's generation needs to wake up to real music.
How old are you?
@@Scholarpasta At the time i was 21. Currently cringing at this comment.
@@Marshy94 no no, you've got a point
@@Marshy94 Crazy that you commented 6 years ago eh?
@@graceyreasoner7683 time flies...
I'm not sure why everyone's saying this sounds like a villain song. To me it sounds motivational, maybe even heroic.
Kudos to Rob for taking a song from his old band and turning it into something great
the guitars in this are awesome
This song is epic. You cant deny.
Heard this at the end of a Startup episode and immediately looked it up because it sounded insane but never would have thought it was Rob's song how wild is that
A decade later and He’s Still Winning like always
everything in this picture is beautiful
I believe in his philosophy no matter how hard you beat me down I will always come back
Just found this after listening to "All of my friends".
I feel conflicted with how this song changed so much, although, I prefer the tally hall version _hehe_
So this is the same guy who made the shia song.... and I just can’t get over that this man is so underrated and I have so much respect for him
Bro really wrote a song saying "Nah I'd win"
thank you so much for this song Rob
I put this on loop for Dark Souls 2. Ever since, it has been my theme for trudging through a horrible experience. I'll get to the other side. I'm GONNA win. It's just gonna be a horrible time along the way, like fighting World Alatreon
Two possibilities: this song is about toxic positivity, someone is pretending like they’ve got it all together and project their inner pain and turmoil onto someone else. The other: this is just a feelgood motivation song, a power anthem if you will.
2:27 HAIKU MENTIONED
I love robs music so much usually i get bored of other artists but you are the best and i love it!!!
Damn Rob, you're awesome
Rob Cantor is the best!
1:22 best part
StartUp series, Season 1, end of episode 7 hipped me to this song. Great song.
Ngl, this would be my villain song. I feel this
Welp reached my heel turning point. Now it's my theme song
Mental motivation achieved.
sooooo underrated. Really sounds like some one starting to become angry and evil as well as crazy talking themselves to encourage. I love it.
YES! Okay. Stoked on this stuff now.. I'm good.
im going to listen to this on loop so I can internalize that I wont give up woo awesome music sir
This isn’t less dark than All of My Friends. Imagine it like this: In that song, you’re fighting insanity. In I’m Gonna Win, you’re consumed by it.
A song I can relate to, thanks Rob Cantor.
