Same dude. And I just saw that they dropped their distributors and went full ecom so this thing is ~1500 CAD now which is a sweet deal if its as good as people are saying it is. Still nervous buying a guitar I can't play in person first but I think I'm gonna have to pick one up 😅
Sick guitar! Seems like a solid competitor to the Ibanez AZ2402. While I'd give the edge to the AZ for the tonal versatility, the Vola reverse headstock and choice of black hardware is *chef's kiss*
Nice, Steve! I love the look of the black satin finish with the roasted neck/fingerboard. Only thing that makes me nervous IS the black satin finish. I had one on a Charvel, and the finger stains (from where right hand rested) were immediate. Regardless, what a sexy sleek beast.
Still not sure about the Curl in the body but its not a deal breaker. I just put the first set of new strings on a Charvel DK24 I bought over a year ago. Its amazing sometimes how a guitar responds to new laces. Its the only time I was able to go string by string ( Floyd Rose) with no need to address the fretboard or frets, since its still new and maple.
It sounds killer. I tend to get my bridge hummie fat with my amp which makes switch to the neck a muddy mess. So that series thing with the neck PU is killer, great solution.
Great video, Steve. Helped me make the decision to buy one today. Can’t believe I could buy this for 1320,- Euro, all included. Just sold an Ibanez AZ Prestige to get this one. Can’t wait. Awesome sounds coming off your rig, btw 🤘
I just wish the Vola logo was a little less goofy looking. Some of their old gig bags have a fancy looking Vola logo in cursive font. That would look a lot nicer on the headstock.
Presently in order to get stainless steel frets on a Vola you have to spend over $1100 USD and they don't have new silver mist gloss except in the base Vola V3 model. Unless you want a 7 string. Color selection is a bit lacking in my opinion. Thanks for the demo Steve! 🤟
Hey might be a little late but if you like the looks of this guitar, a similar one would be the Ibanez AZ 2402 model. It has essentially the same features and even more options when it comes to pickup selection. It looks similar with the roasted maple neck and flat matte black attire. It solves your problem disliking the Vola body cut but it really does look similar. Only major difference is the headstock isn't reversed. If you really are interested in it however, the Ibanez is alder as well. It has a gotoh bridge too, along with locking tuners. The locking tuners are slightly different as they lock from the top, but they still lock. It is a double humbucker design as well so essentially they are similar models. I would highly recommend it if you are in the market, but it's just a suggestion as I am looking for a guitar personally. I am considering either the Vola or the Ibanez, but I hope I could offer some help to you. Either way I do think boht would be fantastic as the Ibanez AZ models are fantastic, and I could only imagine how Vola guitars play.
normally love your reviews... but what makes this worth two grand+..? "fairly simple" .. in house pickups that sound ok.. gotoh hardware can be had on guitars for 1/4 the price. standard specs overall. what am I missing?
@@SFBGuitar Thanks Steve, yeah I’ve recently had an email from Vola about buying direct from them. Buying direct is a great idea for guitar makers the problem with Vola is they apply a 20% re-stocking fee on top of the costs of return shipping if you buy from them and ‘don’t get on with the guitar’ and want to return it. Vola make some great looking and sounding guitars but their returns policy stops me from buying one, especially when I can buy from other sellers like Thomann over in Germany and get free returns from the UK. Keep up the great work on your channel.👍😀
@@steviesynapse if you don’t get along with a Vola, you can resell them for more than you paid for them easy. Just wait for your model to go out of stock and you can sell it 2-400 bucks higher than you paid on some models. People can’t get certain ones for months. Especially the ones with flashy, unique tops
I wish steve touched on if the bridge was able to be pulled up and down or just down. Maybe gave some details on the weight of the guitar. I also personally think the pickups sound a bit anemic. Lacking something. Also you said stainless steel frets but not the size of the frets. Cmon buddy
I like matte finish but this one is fugly lol.. Needs some kind of border or color around the pickups and to me the body and neck clash like they are from 2 different ideas. I mean it sounds cool and I would play it for a bit if someone sent it to me for free... but at $2049?
@@TimbukTu0264 Agreed. When I think MIJ with a bolt on neck the Jem comes to mind. I might be into a Vola for the $900-1200 used price but still not for a plain finish.
lol @ $1800, no thanks, me gets an Eart welpo 4 or 5 for that money, funny how they think they can start right up and demand that kind of money, no reputation, no obvious pay what you get for features.. I'd never condone that kind of greed
is this guitar good for metal, shredding? fast neck?
Good, it arrived safe! Enjoy
Love the dark roast.
Holy Vola that’s awesome 👏🏽 they make some swaeeeet axes
Oh man, I am now gassing super hard for one these. Thanks for the great video and playing Steve!

Steve that's a wicked looking guitar. I will bet that she really sings.
Looks exactly my Charvel Pro-Mod, satin finish and all, except mine is shell pink :)
How does the neck compares to the Charvel ProMod DK24?
Sick guitar! Seems like a solid competitor to the Ibanez AZ2402. While I'd give the edge to the AZ for the tonal versatility, the Vola reverse headstock and choice of black hardware is *chef's kiss*
Very Cool, Thankyou. Stunning guitar, love the look. Cheers
Simple yet beautiful 🤩 can’t wait to get one of these
Just got the rainbow top just yesterday. Beautiful guitars. I replaced the neck with a scalloped Warmoth one. Awesome

Thanks for the cool review!!

We need more roasted maple and stainless frets on guitars
The reverse headstock is a pain when it comes to tuning, puts your hand in an odd position.

All the Black and All the Roast. sounds good clean and nasty. Thanks for Demo Steve.
all the roast? where🤣
Love the roasted neck! How black? I'd say none more black! 😆 Thanks Steve

Agree. Wish the logo was a bit… “cleaner” or something. Other than that, their guitars look and sound awesome.
I was gonna say “really, isn’t that kinda nitpicky”…but then I feel the same about the reverse headstock …every guitar is a compromise!!!
I can only get Indonesian guitars here for the price of this one. I'll get it!
Love Volas, i need one
Sounds Killer !!
Chunky necks rule!
And reverse headstocks for less tension on the high strings.
Very nice!
It amazes me the difference a couple of mm’s make in neck feel…are we guitarists freaks of nature 😳
You have enough delay and reverb on that Steve? Lol

Nice video
Again .. not a fan of the bottom of the body cut .. but love everything else about the vola's & that combo of color+neck looks awesome !!

Half the price now.
nice
Not a fan of the colour combination of that dark brown roasted maple neck and matte black body. IMO much too expensive at £2000.
That's old pricing. They're $1099 now. They cut dealers and went direct. Prices are almost in half.

So expensive. What gives a newish guitar brand the right to charge so bloody much. £2k in England.
Yeah alot of coin I got 2 Harley Benton fusions with similar specs for under £700!
Ain't u rich?
£2k here in Scotland too Bro I agree with you that it's too expensive probably by £1600 as well a Harley Benton is better value 💷💷💷💷💷

And it should be a neck thru for the asking price. Think Schecter sls. More features for less money( minus gig bag)
