      If we just allow poo and pee from the toilet to enter a tank ( no paper no disinfectant ) and we use a bidet tap to clean ourselves all other waste water to go into a separate system , surely this would eliminate many health hazards and leaching fields could be much smaller .

    Septic system failure is one of the most expensive, if not the MOST expensive repair you will ever have to face as a homeowner. A new system or engineered septic system with spec septic samd can run anywhere from 10,00 to 30,000 dollars depending on existing soil conditions and water table height. Hard pan and clay type virgin soils can add even more costs to your new system due to the fact you will need an engineered mound type system with hundreds of yard od septic gravel or certified septic sand approved by an engineering firm with a seive test and new perc tests. Septic Genie looks like an OK product and not much risk to the system. Take care, Dan S :-)

    My leaching pit is getting clogged. It's a huge pit and the water is getting higher and higher because the crushed stone is getting clogged. I have an access cover at the top of the pit can I put the septic genie directly in the pit along with the bag of bacteria? Would this accelerate the revival of the leaching pit?

      find and uncover distribution box, open it up and pour granulated hydrogen peroxide (sodium percarbonate, oxy clean). After resolving percolation issues follow it up with granulated gypsum to remove hardpan caused by peroxide. Obviously research this method for specifics before attempting.

      Unfortunately, It's not as simple as saying x feet of pipe. The whole system, the size of the tank, the leach system type and size depends on several factors. Soil conditions, water table depth, square footage of the home, single or multifamily, total number of bedrooms and bathrooms; as well as other waste producing sources such as hot tubs, showers, laundry rooms, garbage disposals and dishwashers.

    I'm gonna guess that 'Septic Genie' is basically an air pump ...... turning your septic system into an AEROBIC digester. A generic linear air pump and some PVC pipe will do the trick.

      Your understanding is limited thus you don't know. But as a wastewater operator and Master Alternative onsite sewage system operator and inspector this is sound science and the cleaner the effluent the better the drain field will be. The air in the tank will allow different microbe to break down the waste better in the tank, this will reduce the slime causes bacteri, when its gone the field will work again. It can bring a failed system back to life. However a system designed for 4 people cannot ever handle 9 people. Unless they limit the water use.. VirginiaSepticService That said roots in a dbox or drainfield will not be fixed by this.

Slime Biomat in the drainfield. too much water or a water leak from a house hold fixture. Ground water is running into the drain field and need to be diverted away from it. Hope this helps. This works to cure a biomat issue but no not the usual paper clog. You are correct if its a paper clog but if the drainfield is not taking water, and roots are not the problem, Adding an aerator and header pipe to distribute air is the cheapest way to fix it

  • @bmaiceman

    So I have 3 QUESTIONS.
    1 it was always told to us that GUT bacteria... The natural bacteria in out intestine. Are preferred bacteria to consume the solids.... Now your saying that's WRONG??
    2. If untreated human sewage is a public health HAZZARD.... Why is it not considered HAZZARDOUS WASTE... And can therefore be pumped and hauled by anyone without a HAZZARDOUS material placard.
    3 Does this unit ACTUALLY remove the need to have the tank pumped every do many years??? All the solids SLUDGE will be consumed????

    • @septicgenie6429
      @septicgenie6429  3 роки тому +1

      1. Intestinal bacteria does digest organic solids, but very slowly and inefficiently. Worse, it has a protective mechanism in which it secretes a slimy mucus-like coating to protect itself. This is known as Biomat, and over time it builds up in the septic system and drain field, clogging the drain field soil and slowing the flow of effluent into the soil -- the cause of over 95% of all drain field failures.
      2. Untreated human sewage is a health hazard, and treated as such. Pumpers are required to dispose of it following specific guidelines (guidelines do vary across the country, as they are established at the county or local level).
      3. The reason for pumping a septic tank is to remove the solid waste. As the Septic Genie removes the solid waste by digesting it, there is no need to pump the tank on a regular basis.

Who in their right mind is going to buy a product where no PUBLICALLY accessible scientific evidence of efficacy exists??? Publish a link to actual data, actual comprehensive field test results, actual controlled studies and you might have something to talk about. Short of that, buying this is frankly irrational.
