lol, I sleep with one eye open...
That's my favorite part, amazing.
Teach is 1% scarry, but the 1% sends shivers down your spine.
”Because at the end of the day it's a woman ” facts🤣🤣☠️☠️
Bill is a legend and a majority’s favorite 😂💯
Love the video, and love Burr. Not many people will read this, but as an avid Elvis fan, I have to clarify a few things;
The idea Elvis never gave a "shout out" is maddening. Elvis was anti-segregation and anti-racism way before it was popular to do so. He was born dirt poor in Tupelo and lived very close to the black segregated neighbourhood, which he frequented.
Elvis was the kid who snuck into black only clubs because he enjoyed their style of music more. Ike Turner used to let Elvis through the back and hide behind his piano whilst he played so the black crowd wouldn't see him - Ike claims that Elvis' famous leg shake was inspired by Ike's style of playing piano. Elvis was the kid who'd visit Sun Records whilst BB King was recording and watch him intently. BB King reminisced about this shy polite kid who'd always call him sir and always watch him play.
Elvis attended black only music events and carnivals, even when he was starting to get famous and despite it not being a "popular" thing to do at the time.
On the set of 'Jailhouse Rock', Elvis was interviewed by a magazine called "Jet"; a publication aimed at black Americans. During that interview he went on record saying that he didn't invent Rock n Roll, he couldn't perform like Fats Domino or BB King, and listed the people who inspired his style. He always gave props in interviews.
Sure, not all the songwriters of Elvis' music were well compensated, but that wasn't the fault of Elvis. The music industry at that time was slimy; Arthur Crudup, who wrote the first song Elvis would go on to cover and release, was picked up by a scout called Lester Melrose. Lester paid Arthur for his recording time but put his own name on the writing credits (apparently this was common practice at the time). Arthur was shafted out of good money, and it would be years before he'd see any of it.
But other writers, like Otis Blackwell, got paid handsomely for their music. The pitfalls of the industry were out of the control of the artists, and Elvis continually gave props to his heritage, to the people who inspired him. He wasn't perfect, and as Bill alludes to, he was the proto-Rock n Roll star. He reached the peak of fame, but went out with little grace. But this idea that Elvis was some white supremacist who had little regard for those who made him who he was. Nope, simply not true.
Thank you for putting it so well. I was going to write something up but thought it would take too much time and honestly, I can't be bothered with all the race debates, etc. I not only think but I'm positive that all the groups of people that exist have contributed to music in one way or another.
Elvis was not manufactured, he just sang the music he was brought up with.
His wife needs to watch elvis and the black community it's full of black people who actually knew elvis not a bunch of people who never knew him and have their own racial agenda!
Stupid comment! What about black people who knew him and don't have nice things to say? what's their agenda? One that doesn't support yours? 🙄
I don't think you understand the problem.... did he get influenced by black people? Yes or no. This is a problem because it kind of discredits a whole group of people who really influenced a whole generation in one way or another.
Racial Appropriation is a made up buzzword that bring race into the argument when it has nothing to do with race. If anything Elvis is guilty of Cultural Appreciation.
@@thehappysmiler6752 who cares? They're just jealous.

Nice! It's been a fun ride!
Bill just makes you laugh some way some how it's impossible to sit and watch bill without laughing reminds me I have to do some catching up with his podcast it's always fun especially with his wife around.
Paper Tiger was a great special
Fact: Elvis learn leg shakin from another white dude named Forest Gump.

somehow funny to make a living with family fights lol
Bill is a GOAT. Watch the whole special.
Her laugh said it all.
One of the things I realized early in my short life was that entertainers in the early 1900's regardless or race were paid for shit. They may have been doing better than other jobs, but nowhere near to the extent of today. Also if you couldn't act and sing and dance back then you probably weren't getting any roles. Entertainment and TV changed a lot of people's lives, for the better and worse.
Aw, I love y'all too
First time I heard Elvis on the radio [Heartbeak Hotel] I assumed he was black , The Beatles and Stones etc always acknowledged the black artists that influenced them , dont remember Elvis doing that , he did lots of covers of black singers but not many black guys in his band or in his movies.
elvis from the beginning admitted it was not his music but it was african american music, he'd go to their dance halls and hang out with black people. he wasn't racist, he was one of the first white artists to hire black back up singers and stood up for them and refused to perform if anywhere around america they said his back up singers were not allowed to perform or stay in their hotels, elvis would say then i won't be performing. so they backed down.
Pretty sure Elvis lived in a house with dirt floors and was poor as hell. Listen to Poke Salad.
The house in Tupelo WAS very small. Never stopped there, but I have driven past it many times.
you have almost 6000 subs =) congrats
Getting so close lol and thank you
been binge watching your videos for the last few hours gotta say you guys are great , keep up the great work would love for you to react too Tim Minchin - If I Didn't Have You - Full Uncut Version, one day
Wow, thank you so much!
Mia is brilliant, she often pops in on bills Thursday podcast , great relationship they have
Yea she is. Her name isnt mia tho.
Oh man thumbs up but so disappointing that it was cut off partway through!
Netflix it, react to a special, and cut it up into like 8-10 episodes :-)
That probably wouldn't be an option. The Netflix specials are protected by copyright, and not the "demonetized" level of copyright, the serious kind where they take down the video and strike the channel.
She keeps giving him ways out of it but he just keeps walking right into the buzzsaw
Yo, you know you have to air that video now that you brought it up!!
Ohhh Metallica fan! Guy with a great music taste.

Just a question: did you understand the last joke about travel? I know that most americans don't get it, even though it's a very well known historical fact.
Elvis grew up in a black neighborhood. He played with black kids and had black friends when he was small. When you grow up listening to the music and being submerged in a culture you pick up on it's attributes. Elvis sang the way he heard those around him sing and danced the way they did. When he got older and moved to Memphis and was around white people this was something they never heard so it was new to them. But to say Elvis stole it is wrong and he always gave others credit and praised black artist like fats domino, muddy waters, BB King and james brown. This idea that Elvis stole black music was started by chuck d from run DMC in the 80's and he has since walked it back. It was still a funny stand up act though...
Obviously U have never seen Ray Charles Interview...
Dude he copied back artists songs sometimes word for word, made fame & so much money for it without ever paying a dime for it or any copyright ©. What are u talking about? That's absolutely not the same as getting inspired by someone, it's exploitation. If u a white dude copied my songs as a black artist word for word, dance moves etc in a very racist erra then won every award, made all the money & took credit for my work dude are u kidding me?
@@7890Toni obviously you've never seen James Brown, BB King, Sammy Davis Jr interview. You should watch Elvis and the black community it's on youtube short but informative many black artist and community leaders.
@@fonyuytata Elvis always gave credit to black artist. People cover other artist all the time doesn't mean the music was stolen. And if the music had copyright then he had to pay for it and had to get permission from the artist to cover it.
No
You guys should react to Ralphie May: Gay Wedding
What was the reaction to that you had to shut it off. Y’all got me curious😂😂😂

@@TeacherandCoach2020 So who was the thank you from then? 😊
Not sure why I am telling you this but it is 2:59am here in London UK as I write this and I cannot sleep.
I didn’t get the fly from LA to NY in under 6 hours joke.
I'm pretty sure it's an airplane reference. Two white men (the Wright brothers) created the first motorized airplane.
How about trying some Ron White. D"ckin Around With Tiger Woods is pretty funny.
Oh yes..sorry I'm late"". Nice!!!
No problem 😊
the interesting thing is that Rock music wasn't stolen. rock music is a fusion art form that fuses dozens of older forms of music together, music from both, black and white cultures
surprised that you guys have yet to do a tom segura video yet.
outro song?
The Vikings wore dreadlocks back 1500 years ago but no one mentions that?
We all know Elvis got his leg shaking from Forest Gump
Yes Alicia we all matter even the guy you married . Like the room changes with the neon and great pic at what appears to be a GT500 although i did enjoy the bikes . Also i thought the Tobacco Road marathon was cancelled for this year , i guess the teeshirts were already bought and payed for ..
So true! The race was cancelled but they allowed us to run it virtually and submit our times. You are observant! This is why we love you!

And i love you since no matter where you live on this third rock from the sun we are all in this together as brothers and sisters , more so lately then ever before ..
I bet the one you guys didn't post was the Joey Diaz - One Legged Woman video. It's pretty full on
They posted that one a few weeks ago. I'm thinking a Patrice bit was maybe what did it
You guys look like siblings with those matching frames.
Weird thing is you are not the first to think that lol
He GOT the dancing from FORREST GUMP... its been documented!! not black people!!! Why would she say that?????
Bills wife didn't say that.
Bill said that to nia before nia brought up the points about inappropriating another culture.
Fair enough if Forrest Gump wasnt a movie based on a fictitious character and wasnt released till decades after Elvis died but i do get the humor in it .
I don't get the flying under 6 hours thing. Can someone explain that to me please. Thx. 😊
I think it was about a Wright Brothers thing.
The brilliance of bill burr is he digs deep into his ignorance, but always evens it out by seeing both sides. He's a top notch comedian. Divides viewers on opinion but you both come out agreeing, That bill burr is hilariously ignorant. And there lies his brilliance.
Great stuff but elvis did give back to everyone.
He gave thousands to charities all around memphis .
He didn't give shit back to the black artist who's style he stole from

Can.. can we at least know what the video was?
If you're open to suggestions I would like to recommend one of my all time favorite comics: John Pinette (RIP). He, to me, was insanely funny, and he didn't have to be crude or vulgar to achieve that. Definitely one of the best, in my opinion.
Anyway... Here's a link if you're interested in checking his work out. - ua-cam.com/video/O7xyO91dizQ/v-deo.html -
I love how males "dig themselves into holes" over opinions in regards to conversation with a female spouse. Which shouldn't matter to anyone but the person with opinion and be accepted. While woman get the respect of theyre opinions males typically don't. Weird sexest culture. Unhealthy as well. Idk why thise grey areas putting males down are so accepted. Its odd.
lol, women have a lot more power than they like to admit.
@@nicebluejay admitting it would make it harder to argue for more power lol.
Its not rly sexist, we do it to ourselves. We give women more respect of opinion because they are usually more willing to argue. Women are just more argumentative, and most dudes just dont care enough to keep the argument going, me included. Its not that deep tbh
Teacher re was elvis manufactured? New Flash all actors and singers are manufactured always has been an essential part of entertainment development or should I say product development e.g Boy bands in the 90's and their producers, i.e manufacturers.
I meant coach's question.
I don't get the last NY and LA joke at the end, and I do feel dumb as a result
I believe people on here are saying because of the Wright brothers and they were white.

Good try lol
Couldn't get through The Nasty Show huh.....
U need to do some research on Presley before u make u agree so quickly. It would have made more of a sense if u understood the impact this man had on our culture from a sexual aspect to changing how we view and listen to music.
I can tell who wears the pants in the relationship.
Come on, Elvis took the leg thing from a white boy named Forrest.. we all know that.

Cultural appropriation is stupid.
i think your talking about george carlin, your wife didnt like the religion bits he does
I like you guys but I've never, ever seen one of you say at the end of a video you found funny : "That was so funny!" or "He's so good!". It's weird, you just go on a tangent right away lol
Good job tough!
Bro you need a whole new wife I can tell you calls you the worse names ever and takes advantage of you I would leave instantly
"fake news" lol
I sat through a couple of Elvis' movies. (I got in free!) And, in the one titled "Love Me Tender" I lost all respect. The title song took the tune of "Aura Lee" and replaced the original poetic lyrics with some awful, trite stuff that must have been written by someone who had lost his job writing greeting cards for incompetence. There was also one called "Flaming Star". OH. MY. GOD!
I don't think I ever watched another movie with Elvis Presley.
Can you guys retire yet?
Every musician, actor, creator of something, AFTER the ORIGINAL...Stole! No matter the race, or gender! The only thing different is, an approach, style or or interpretation of what you took from the original. BUT....how do we know the Original, didn't get his or her talent from someone they saw who never got famous or even known outside the town they saw them in? You NEVER absolutely know where it was stolen or who from! I have looked into hundreds of talented people and who inspired them, or where they first heard then learned something. Then if you're like me, then you see about those talented ones, and who influenced them! Elvis got ripped off by far...MORE than anyone famous i know, through the Colonel!! That guy stole almost evey dime Elvis made, through every contract signed. Why do you think later on in the 1970's Elvis was setting up tour dates? He was F*CKING BROKE practically! Elvis should have been a BILLIONAIRE!
Bill's wife is named Nia what's so funny she is feminist
Well that dude is full of inaccuracies.
Elvis is an appropriator.......
..........I really don't give a damn about him.
It's funny when a white person "CULTURE VULTURES" an idea from another race, there is ALWAYS a quick defensive stance to exhonorate the offense. Elvis (didn't write any of those songs, nor did he play the instruments in those songs. Yet he/his estate gets ROYALTIES for said events.). Before everyone comes for me,.... I like Elvis, I just didn't like the systemic racism that denigrated/ostracized the "real" innovators. (Elvis never gave props to those he stole from.). Michael Jackson gets credit for many things(fashion, dance moves, etc.) if you did your homework, Jackson took many of his "style" from a white man named Bob Fossey(hopefully I spelled it right.) The high water pants, penny loafers, even the moon walk..... The difference is Jackson CREDITED him for the contributions to his style/career....... Let's not forget Bo Derek in 10. Her hairdo was inspired by her BLACK make-up artist that had the style and No asked her to do the African braids to her hair. But, when the movie came out Caucasians credited Derek with coming up with a "new" iconic style. And Caucasians everywhere "adopted" the style because her color dictated acceptance!!!!!! No hatred or race war baiting,..... Just trying to show how systemic racism effects history, fashion, tv/movies, social and musical trends. And to be left out for so long, leaves a bad taste in "our" mouths....... Love the channel, keep doing whatcha doing!!
ive seen it... and I recognize that I have adopted because I was inspired by other artists. I have written blues inspired music, because I felt those blues. But I also know that the tradition was started by slaves in the cotton fields singing back and forth, sometimes sending messages to other slaves. And I know that I will never be in that position, I will never be working in the fields, as I am far to old.
my father worked for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas and in the 60's he was given the choice of layoff or go to work in Seattle. He chose Seattle and in 68, we joined him for the summer. He flew back to drive us out to Seattle in a caravan with 2 of dads friends who were moving to Seattle. The 3 of us boys would take turns riding with Dads friends Walter and Lewis.. It was great fun... In Wyoming, we stopped for a late lunch at a truck stop and dad went out to wave Walter and Lewis in.... Mom and us boys had gone inside to order coffee and sodas and when dad and his friends came in, they were told they couldnt be served inside, but they could get a bowl of food out the back door... because of course, they were Black... Dad told us to get outside, Walter and Lewis told dad to just let it go... but dad wouldnt let it go and made all of us go outside so he could deal with the manager... I could hear my father inside that truck stop and he made it clear that he would not let this shit go by without a little learning... And my dad was the teacher... He said their is no difference between Walter, Lewis and himself... and to treat any human as less than any other human is not 'christian' and its wrong. My dad was much better at saying than I am at recalling 52 years later, but it changed my life.. I was never so proud to be a Warren as I was right then. After the summer Dad drove us back home and took a couple of months off.. Our neighbors had arranged a meeting for when my dad returned.. There was a Black family who had moved down the street from us, they were the first Black family to make inroads into what had been a white area all thru 'American' history... Black people lived on the 'other side of the tracks' literally in Wichita.. And the neighbors wanted to know what 'we' were going to do about it... My dad said we were going to do nothing but treat them as we would treat any other new neighbors and welcome them with open hearts and open arms... They were good people.. and it caused some shitty white people to move out of the neighborhood...
MQW
What a pile of crap, what an idiot.
@mary mary You didn't comprehend what I was saying.... All the artists you named NEVER got residuals for a writing credit. Elvis did!!!! They got royalties for singing..... I am not saying Elvis is a totally bad dude, I am saying(when it counted) Elvis stayed somewhat silent when others like Bowie, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones continuously championed equality in music/society.
Yes elvis was manufactured , he took everything black artist didn't get credit for and made up a whole persona in which he didn't create . The nerve for people to call him the king of Rock and roll but never gave lil richard who's the god of Rock and roll who created rock and roll and made every type of today's music from hip hop r&b old school rock and roll heavy metal music grunge music and every white pop type of music .
