If a few brief minutes of Kushal & Satyajit aren't enough…watch their full 50-minute performance of Raag Bhimpalasi in pristine HD on the Darbar Player, along with dozens of other captivating concerts: www.darbarplayer.com/videos/pandit-kushal-das-raag-bhimpalasi We'd like to upload everything for free - but filming, editing, and hosting cost money, and we’re a small not-for-profit organisation. Signing up to the Darbar Player costs about the same as a couple of coffees a month ($5), which we hope is an excellent price for such a wealth of unique music.
The rendering of a raag is much more than the traditions, knowledge of raagas and classical music. It’s a passion of the performer. Pt. Nichikl Benergy, Pt. Kusal Dass … they don’t care about the external world … and try to immerse within the mood of the raag to its very depth.

Simply awesome rendition of raag Bhimpalasi by the sitar maestro Pandit Kushal Das. He is truly amazing. We feel proud as we discovered him and introduced him to the UK and organised national tours for him in the year 2002. Maitreyee Sarcar HF FRSA, Co-Producer & Co-Presenter of Surtarang Broadcast, UK

Iam sure that his alap portion must have been equally sublime and peaceful kindly upload some portion from the initial minutes of the performance. Otherwise you may end up portraying that Indian music emphasizes only on speed specially to those who are new to this
+prabir someshwar Thank you for your comment, Kushal Das is truly amazing, he is one of the best players that we have today. I am sure that you will also enjoy listening to: ua-cam.com/video/3op5lbtoDBI/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/-BOgoqt2eZ0/v-deo.html Please support our channel by sharing these videos, also you can also join the Darbar family by subscribing to our UA-cam channel so that you are the very first to see our latest videos!
The normal rendition of any raag in our classical music on Sitar consists of slow development with alaap, Jod and Jhala. Then comes a composition in slow teen taal or Jhaptaal or even Roopak. This is followed by drut (fast) gat (composition) with crescendo at the end. This video clip just shows part of the process and I am hoping that Kushal Das did not deviate from the proper procedure I explained. I would have loved to listen to slow alaap etc. I am sure he is quite capable of that. May be the person who uploaded this clip did not care for the initial part of KD's performance & just loaded what he found interesting but then it is unfair to the musician as well as listeners.
Pandit Kushal Das did give a full rendition of the raga, but only a portion of this has been uploaded. This is the best Bhimpalasi I have heard, and I wish I could hear the full recording.

Carnatic classical Abhishek raghuram
Did anyone find themselves drooling? I mean come on this is beautiful.
Why did you say that? It's not a surbahar, its a sitar. Surbahar looks similar but different.
Indian psychedelic music is very powerful. Some of the vibrations you can easily find and play but beware that they can cause changes.
is that bageshri?
what raag is this?
Some people are lazy to read title, right?
Yes this is in A=432Hz!

Pandit Kushal Das did give a full rendition of the raga, but only a portion of this has been uploaded. This is the best Bhimpalasi I have heard, and I wish I could hear the full recording.
Yo Mr Narayan did your father help organize the recording or the concert or the artists? If not, stay happy with what you have.

better than half ounze weed....mello.
Lot of fast technique. Can we hear the Alap. Not every Raga needs to be played fast.
Adhbut!
Actually, he's playing a Surbahar; slightly different from the sitar. :)
He's playing the sitar. The surbahar has a bassier sound, almost an octave lower than this. :)
this guy has copied anushka shankar's peice in starting
