The service manual mentions 2 litres of gear oil for manual transmissions, but you managed to fill 3 litres when it started dripping oil from the filler hole. Could you please confirm whether it is 2 litres or 3 litres gear oil capacity for the Datsun Go?

After scouring the internet for about 3 hours yesterday, I managed to find the exact figure for the Datsun Go HR12DE based 5 speed manual's gearbox oil capacity from a forum that races with the same engine gearbox combination. It is exactly 2.7 litres. The viscosity should be 75W85, and it should definitely be GL4 gear oil. GL5 gear oil is prohibited for this gearbox. If it is used in the Middle East with ambient temps above 45 degrees Celsius, 75W90 gear oil is advised.

@@arnabbanerjee187 Motul brand synthetic 75W80 or 75W85 grade GL4 gear oil. Do not use 75W90 or 80W90 grade gear oil. Do not use GL5 gear oil as it will eat away the brass rings inside the gearbox. 3 litres is sufficient, but max capacity is 3.2 litre on level ground. It is supposedly life-long oil, but I suggest that you change it once every 20,000 km if you drive in the city, but if it is mainly used for highway driving then changing it once every 40,000 km is acceptable. I presume that this car can be used only in the city and village roads, for which it is a very good vehicle, and hence changing it once every 20,000 km is advised.
This gearbox looks different than the EU Micra K13. I have the drain plug at bottom of the gearbox with an 8mm square plug. fill plug is made of plastic in front of the gearbox. But also use around 3L 75w85
Hi can I ask you a question, I drive a Mazda 2 , 2019. My radio keeps losing the stations and the time. Battery and alternator is fine. Couldn't it be a small capacitor within the radio that retains the clock and radio station memory. It's not a touch screen, it a standard digital radio.
Surprised that the oil is soo filthy on a low kilometer car. Now manufacturers out there claim that a gearbox is filled for life, which never makes sense to me. Thumbs Dan

Yes this video i had use 3 litres of fluid until it drips. If you like you can try 2.5 litres see wether it drips out from the filler hole. ??

maybe it is in the head unit needs servicing or replacing.

Rechargeable super capacitor or button cell needs replacing. The most remote possibility is a wonky ROM, of the board.

once you see its pouring down n stop dripping the filler hole means its full and you have to stop filling it.
