Great idea, beutiful work, but as long ss you had a center hole drilled, why not bandsaw the slabs round and avoid all the knocking of taking the corners off? Asking for a friend.
It is a nice looking vase, but I’m curious as to why you don’t hollow out more of the inside? Also, I notice that when you are boring the center out, your big Forstner bit is moving around an awful lot. You’re not boring the hole by hand, are you? That’s a good way to be injured! Your forstner bit should be held firmly in the tail stock chuck, and fed into the wood with the tail stock quill. The tail stock itself should be locked down whenever the bit is in the wood. When you reach the end of your quill travel, back the bit out, move the tail stock forward, lock it down and feed in with the quill again, then repeat until you reach the desired depth.

Amazing as always, with meticulous planning and execution. Well-done, and thanks. :)
