I would recommend the Sawyer life straw to anyone adventuring in areas where drinking water might be scarce. It will filter up to 4,500 litres of standing or running water either by sucking it straight through the straw or draining from a donor bottle suspended by para-chord into a clean container using the hose provided. Well worth the money
Wow!!, to see that picture book to be used for translation. I wasn't aware any such thing is available. I went to Japan in 2001 and had language problem as the hotel manager and people around were not able to understand English (BTW , I am Indian) , I used to draw many pictures to talk and could communicate very well but also surprised to get the answers ready from one of the book from other person where a complete sentence in English was ready as my answer, I was also very much surprised as to how was he/she able to find the exact sentence for me within less than a minute.
This is awesome to see your setup. As I have the same soft bags I've wondered about attaching smaller bags to the top like you have. Your bike setup is pretty much the same as mine apart from a couple of things. I prefer to have my snacks for the day in the tank bag, but I also have my filming bits and pieces (spare batteries and selfie sticks, mounts etc) in there like you do. As for the kettle, I also take one on my bike trips but it folds flat and expands out again just like your pot so it takes up way less room. I also have coffee/bourbon cups that fold flat the same. I like the idea of the Sizapp device. Interesting! Tip of the day though Ollie, always connect the red wire first so that there is no chance of arcing out on anything metal surrounding the battery that is earthed to the other side of the battery. Great video guys! I loved this! Thanks for sharing it.
We've been meaning to do a setup video for a while so we're glad you liked it 😁🙏 We only added the top bags for this leg and it's been really useful to have the extra storage space so so far so good! That sounds like a really cool kettle do you have a link to buy it? Could be useful to save the space! We definitely feel better having the extra security that SIZZAPP provides so we're glad we have it now 😊 That's a good tip I didn't know! Thanks for watching!
Thanks again for a great video. Your enthusiasm is incredible. If I may, you should always disconnect the black (negative) battery wire first then the red (positive) Reconnecting is the reverse. (red then black) This reduces the likely hood of a power spike which could blow a fuse or worse. Sorry to be an old know it all. Enjoy yourselves.
💚 your setup is very suitable🏆, But it is missing something important 🛑 in my opinion - A tire air inflator and Tire repair kit - Also it is better to install additional fog lights for the bike Your new Sizzapp monitoring device is great 👍 Thank You (Lavi & Ollie)
Hi Lavi and Ollie. You guys are super organised, getting all that stuff onto Bumblebee, and knowing where everything goes! Just a friendly word to the wise. You probably know this already, but those water filters are good at making drinkable water even cleaner and safer, but they won't make filthy water safe. Still best to find the cleanest water you can, and then filter it! If in doubt you can boil it too just to make sure. Sailors used to add rum to their drinking water to kill the bugs, but probably not a good idea if you're riding the bike! Best regards. 👍
Thank you so much for watching 😍 We’re using the water filter at the moment mainly to make tab water drinkable. I don’t think that we would use it if the water looks very bad. But I like the rum idea 🤣 maybe not for Ollie because he has to ride 😅 but for me 🤪
There is also a 12v usb socket under the pillion seat on that bike for charging equipment at the rear. You will see it in the middle underneath the rear part of the pillion seat.
Awesome video Lavi & Ollie, thanks for sharing ii, very useful! Also, looking at the kettle, I think it clearly shows which Country you started your journey. 😁😁 Keep it up, you're doing great!👍👍
Thanks Nelio 😁🙏 We've been meaning to make something like this for a while so glad you found it interesting! Hahaaa yes maybe that item is only useful to Brits 😂
Good stuff guys that little book with the pictures is a great idea in the situation were you don't know the language like it .Super cool stuff guys The Sizzapp looks to be a cool addition my only misgiving would be could this info be accessed by third parties to look into your lets say activities whilst out riding which I know also can be looked into via your phone to a lesser degree .apart from that it's a cool addition .😉👍
Yes especially in areas where you might not have phone service it could definitely come in handy 😁🙏 We'll see how useful the functions of the SIZZAPP are over time but in case of the worst (getting stolen) we'll definitely be glad to have it!
Re the Tracker Guys ... Just be aware that the GPS is constantly using Battery so for Instance if it was on the Bike when you sent it from Dakar Your battery would have been as dead as the DODO when you finally got it in RIO .... In fact it can drain a poorly maintained battery in a few days of non use. In the UK a lot of Motorcycle owners will hook there bikes up to battery maintenance chargers overnight, especially in winter. Still worth having a tracker though ....
You’re definitely right. At the moment it’s alright because we’re traveling nearly every day but if we stop for a few days we’ll definitely unhook it 😁
Thanks for the in bike tour. It shows just what is required to travel. The sizzapp will help with the Google map that was available for your europe/Africa trip
Oh nice to see that you've still got the seat cushions and airflow pads on BumbleBee, saving your butts 🤣🤣🤣 PS, when are you bringing the parasol back or do need to buy another one 🙃🙂🙃😉
Thanks for doing this video. I am always interested in gear. I too have the Enduristan tank bag, and it is one rugged bit of kit! I love that you have a kettle! I was surprised and impressed! Stay safe, and let's hope that you never need the tracker. Dave 🇨🇦
Hey guys,Thanks for the insightful video on your motorcycle gear. I believe you have a Garmin GPS system. Which model is it and would you recommend it?
Hello there! Thank you so much for the great video! I have one question: I think the gvwr rating on your bike is 440kg and the curb weight is at 240kg. That leaves max. 200kg for both of you and all your stuff and side racks and cases etc. Do you really manage to stay below that? Thanks and safe travels!

Oooh didn't know about that we will do that next time 😁🙏 Thanks Kevin!
YOU know what they say: A journey of a thousand miles begins with the 1st gear! 😉

Hey guys,Thanks for the insightful video on your motorcycle gear.
I believe you have a Garmin GPS system.
Which model is it and would you recommend it?
It’s the Garmin Zumo XT. It was working amazing in Europe, but in North Africa and here in Brazil it’s not working very well for us 🙈
@@LaviandOllie Thank you so much for the reply.
The Garmin Zumo XT is what interests me but I need to do my homework 🤔

Hey 😁 So the bikes weight with all gear is around 320kg and we weigh around 120kg together so that makes a perfect 440kg, so just about alright 😅
