    Thanks for the kind words about my cat art ! Great Video too! Yeah Displate is one of my best selling PODs. They used to have a much higher payout but it's less now however they do a ton of marketing on your behalf and that is something to take into consideration.

    The very fist "hard" step is to accept you as a seller!!! I still waiting to accept me! I have tried 3 times already but nothing! This is totally sad! I have a small portfolio but I can work hard to make good designs for them! I need only a chance to prove it but I suppose they're not interested in this! 😭

    Congo on your sales. Btw how many designs do you have on displate? And all this is organic traffic or you shared on some social media and all. Last year i watched you 10000 sales video then did start uploading (around 10-12 )got 1 sale after month or so. After that never got a sale. Got demotivated and didn't upload and here you have made another 10000 sales. Gonna start again. Let's see how it goes

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  Рік тому +3

      Yes it is definitely a numbers game. I had 3,000 designs for a long while and then recently am making a push for 5,000 designs. It all comes down to niches - doing a generic dorm room poster probably won’t get a lot of sales (as an example, not saying you are doing that). I look at the best-selling designs and then do keyword searches and see how many come back. If low number (like 200), then make 50 in that niche.

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  Рік тому +1

      Hello! Displate allows 10 uploads per day so it would take a while to build a huge portfolio. I definitely recommend collections - Displate promotes individual designs but also on their site they showcase "recommended collections" so I would say have a lot of different collections with high quality designs and you can definitely make sales!

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  Рік тому +2

      It's a good question - I have sometimes uploaded every day for weeks and other times gone a month without uploading, and I have not noticed any difference (sales for me are remarkably consistent). I think Displate does a good job promoting the designs on websites and social media!

    I watched this video, that led me to your video about 10,000 sales. Both are great videos. Do you think AI art would be good for Displate? I am sure you have tried AI art, and you know the quality of the images is very low, but after upscaling the images, they might work. I have run into a problem, though, through upscaling the particular images that I have made, and that is that I prefer the softer look of the original AI artwork, upscaler produce a harsher look, I think. I was wondering if you know what I mean, and how you could get the softness added back in. Whether it is a filter or a slight blur, or whatever. For instance, if I make a cat, when I go to upscale it, you can see every paint stroke, or whatever, where the original image just looked soft, like it almost has a texture of softness on it. I hope you understand what I mean. 😂 I have been getting some really amazing images from Canva's text to image app, and I think they would be great on posters and such, but I just want it to be a higher resolution, without all of the harshness that seems to happen. Thanks, for a great video.

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  Рік тому

      Yes AI COULD work - right now the problem would be meeting Displate’s stringent upload quality rules. But if those are met… sky really is the limit!

    Congratulations, looks nice. I would like to start on Displate too. Would you be so kind to give me an important information? I have read about the ratio 1.4:1 and minimum of 2900 px shortest side...But the best size would be 4000 x 5600 isn`t it? Have you got an idea where I can resize my images in an easy way? Because I am a bit of a fool in tech things... thank you so much. Kindest regards, Sven

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  Рік тому

      Yes good question - 2900x4060 is the minimum. Anything that size or larger should get accepted if every elementin the design is 300 dpi or better. I do larger sizes if possible because it increases my chance of getting them approved (the bot that accepts the designs is extremely picky).

    • @SvenBenedict
      @SvenBenedict Рік тому

      @@zenwatercooler thank you, I still surfing through your content. I have to turn all my designs from transparent background to black background and jpeg format. Unfortunately I have got no experience with managing sizes and so on. This cost me a ton of time because I have to re-do many designs because of the other measurements. Or am I wrong by changing from 1500 x 1500 to 4000 x 5600 px ? Excuse me, I am a bit older... :-)

    However, lately I always have problems with my designs not being accepted, even though I take care of all things required by Displate (pixel dimensions of 4000 x 5600, 300dpi, srgb color profile etc.). All my designs are vector art, which I create in Adobe Illustrator so the print quality can‘t get any sharper / cleaner, but my designs still get rejected.
