  • Ride with us on an exhilarating journey as we embark on our first snowmobile ride of the season through the stunning trails of Haliburton Forest. We're thrilled to take the 2024 Ski-Doo MXZ X-RS 137 850 e-tec and the trusty 2018 Ski-Doo Renegade 850 e-tec for a spin, pushing these machines to their limits.
    🔧 TECH UPGRADES & NEW GADGETS! 📷
    Experience the latest in snowmobile technology with the BRP hand guard signal lights, adding both style and functionality to our ride. We've also strapped on the DJI Action Camera and the Insta 360 One X2 to capture every twist and turn of this unforgettable adventure.
    👫 MEETING FRIENDS ON THE TRAILS! 🤝
    While cruising through the winter wonderland, we unexpectedly bump into some familiar faces! Polaris Ambassador Nunz and Lisa Whiteman from Let 'er Dangle Riding Co. zoom by, adding an extra layer of excitement to our day.
    🛠️ CHALLENGES ON THE TRAIL! 🚨
    Not every moment was smooth sailing. We encounter a few challenges along the way, including a disconnected Ski-Doo E-Linq cable that we quickly fix to keep the helmet from fogging. Witness a heart-stopping snowmobile fail as a fellow rider crashes into a tree, and towards the end of the day, the 2018 Ski-Doo goes into limp mode after blowing an injector. Despite these hurdles, we persevere and make the most of the adventure!
    🏞️ SCENIC LOOKOUTS & DELICIOUS DINING! 🍽️
    Throughout our 100km journey, we explore two breathtaking lookouts, taking in the picturesque winter landscapes. To refuel, we indulge in a delicious dinner at Boshkung Smokehouse, conveniently located right on the trail.

    Those trails should be one way

      @mudbrats  5 місяців тому

      Yeah some of them should but then they would double there grooming and maintenance on trails and bigger impact on the forest. It is a wildlife reserve so I think they try to be responsible. They actually limit it to 100 sled permits a day.

    Another great vid! You really got the tech dialed in. Great cam angle, love to see the gauge, and nice crisp audio. I love my Oxygen helmet but always carry a set of goggles and extra balaclava just in case. And always have a ratchet come along. Sucks to manhandle a sled into a trailer!!

      Thank-you! I really do spend a lot of effort in getting my video and audio tight, but its tech so have a couple of videos coming out that i am not overly please with, but thats technology! Thank you you for dropping a comment!

Hopefully get some snow soon!!

      This is an El Nino winter so was expecting it to be bad. You cant just buy a sled for 1 season, I always try to think multiple years. Who knows, next winter could be awesome

    😊ok , I was in the forest the same day I think, and pretty sure I had to dig that same lady out after her going into the forest, I think a 1200 Yamaha ? Super heavy. Love the forest have a season pass!

    • @mudbrats
      @mudbrats  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah that’s the sled. She was trying to learn, but I think is on the wrong machine for her. She didn’t/couldn’t even countersteer or touch brake. Right into the tree. I didn’t know cam was rolling and when I seen her fly off I thought the worst. So happy she is ok and laughing about it.
      The forest is great, season pass well worth it, I just kinda wished they groomed that weekend but I think being opener, they just let it go.

    Gary - another great video buddy. I love all your stickers and your numbers. Do you have someone that you order all those through. I just picked up a 24 Lynx Rave and I need to put numbers on it - i love your style and color - would look great on my sled. Can you help put me in the right direction - what font did you use??

    How many close calls?? Was it a weekend??

    • @mudbrats
      @mudbrats  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah the second day it was open and a Sunday, they limit the number of sleds to 100 permits each day which is good, but it’s such a small area you run into the same people all day. I could of shown way more ass-hattery from people, it I often get people spotting themselves in the video so that wouldn’t be good. It actually doesn’t feel busy when you are there. My comment about the one sled going too fast is because it’s really a family area. A lot of wives and others learning to ride. No need for a Boost to thunder past at 104mph In a posted 35 zone. 🥺
