im using tab s8 ultra since release and i feel i will use it for couple more years..its enough for everything i need to do

Most are not gonna believe this. But last year I bought the Tab S-8 ultra, and I haven't even taken it out of the box. I've NEVER even powered it on yet. Haven't really had time, as my work schedule is crazy. Now almost a year have gone by, and I have a new/old tablet sitting here in its box unopened.
So the answer for me is a big NO. I will not upgrade, not to mention Samsung only offers $650 trade in for a tablet I paid $1,400. I have the 512gb 16mb ram model. It's the maxed out one. I've also bought accessories that I haven't opened as well. So I'm about $1,800 spent all together. I don't see any need for the water protection feature. And the extra money for that.
The ONLY reason that I was thinking about the S9 is because it comes in a 1TB model. That's it.

I have Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 5G, and I am not going to upgrade right now.
I got my s8 plus in February for 500 bucks. I came from a Galaxy tab s5e, and there was a great improvement. I think could wait 2 or 3 years before needing another update.

TBH I have the S8 Ultra and I love the screen size. I cant really say that I have a say in the quality of specs for the device as I barely use it. But for the price that is given, I can say it is worth the money. But if you have a S8 Ultra I don't really recommend trading as all it really is, would be the simple new little add ons for the new version like a second front camera or upgraded ram. I have the base model and increased the ram as High as it can go and it still powers through the tasks I hand it. Example: Plex, UA-cam, Games, Productivity (Microsoft Excel), etc. don't just listen to me. Listen to your gut. If you want to spend the money like he said if you have it, go for it. But if you don't really have that flexibility then just wait till the next one or maybe 2 generations come out and see if it is really worth that upgrade then.

@love4all336 that is going to be a hard pass. I paid 900 for it plus the 350 case that has the keyboard. Not only that but it is in perfect condition. I can't just sell it for $250. Also can't sell it even if I wanted to. Has all my Authentication stuff for passwords and stuff attached to it. So if I loose that I'm screwed.

if you are looking for a phone upgrade too and have a trade in, the same phone upgrade will be worth more if trading in for a flagship phone.
I was planning on getting a s9+, but with the current Black Friday deal the s8 ultra is 1000 AUD, and I only need to for note taking and content consumption. So I can’t pass this up lol.
Good advice. Have S8 ultra and will wait until either S10 ultra or maybe S11 ultra. Emerging AI chips will be interesting with Samsung ultra tabs if they follow their phone S23+ Ultra technology.
The 1t storage, water proof AND if my carrier would take the large storage tab be the only reason i would upgrade from my ultra S8, so i'll wait for a maybe bigger screen more goodies next year, which is less than 6 months away! PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!
I bought my s8 ultra used. The only reason i am upgrading is because the pre-order trade in offer is so good that I'm actually all in for less $ than i spent on the s8 ultra.
I also get more ram + 512 gb storage.
if you are looking for a new phone the same trade ins are worth more while still giving you the bundle options for a tab s9

I trade and upgrade every year... I just save throughout the year for it. They are giving $650 for the 8 ultra. The 9 ultra cost me $598 after the trade in.

Just upgraded through Samsung and it was only 299 to go from the 8+ to the 9ultra so I did it.
If they had higher resolution Id buy it but no upgrade on the screen

As of right now, the S8 Ultra 128GB model, brand new, is $699.99 at Best Buy, a really good deal, and I am seriously considering purchasing it. My main use would be for productivity... reading, taking notes, split screen, etc. While the S9 Ultra's IP68 rating is definitely nice, I don't need that. I'm also not a gamer, and don't watch media on tablets or phones, so the S8 Ultra is the way I would go.

The Tab S8 Ultra supports 45 Watts charging. I know because I own one and a 45 Watts Samsung Official charger
so im starting college and wondering if i should buy the tab 9, i dont have a tablet.
i paid $470 for the 512 GB model, with trade in which for me is worth it - had there not been such great incentives i might not have upgraded 🎉

Is there a noticeable difference between the s8 ultra and s9 ultra? I could trade my s8 ultra and get the s9 ultra for $495 with tax included, which is a great deal, but it's still $495. Would you say the improvements are worth $495?
Only purpose of tab s9 ultra is to allow tab s8 ultea to be sold at a discount 😀. I use the s8 ultra abd absolutely love it.
Only two reasons I may upgrade into future models are two things. ADAPTIVE REFRESH RATE YO SAVE BATTERY and Higher Storage model as in my country samsung only sold the 256gb version. If i could get the 512gb version, I wouldn't upgrade till say tab S12 or 13 or even 14 if there arent signoficent uogrades.😅😅😅 I upgraded from my S4 only to S8 ultra cause of the mega upgrades.
I feel there isnt much yo upgrade now other some future Display tecgnology.
I would absolutely like a future UPGRADE MODULE STYLE TAB where I can upgrade particular hardware. That would be Eco Friendly too but the so called comoanies who removed the Charging brick in the name of being Eco Friendly dont seem to even go in that direction cause they still want to seel new models in whole instead of MODULAR UPGRADES
I got the tab s8 ultra when it came out (technically before it was out) with the 512gb storage and 16gb ram. I love this tablet but the brightness leaves to be desired when in direct sunlight. The battery life is also not as good as I expected. This tablet is the best for taking notes for school.

Before buying a tablet, I watched almost all the available videos on UA-cam. Nobody said Dex was buggy. For example, the WhatsApp application does not fit into the field where you write the text. And you can’t see what you’re writing. Nobody said that office applications work just like a nightmare. That this tablet is not a computer replacement at all. My external drive won't connect. Lightroom often just turns off. And I have the 16 GB version. Another version of light room is not like on a computer, but with greatly reduced functionality. There are still glitches. I really regret the purchase. Buying this tablet is a mistake.
upgrades are always worth it with Samsung
Short answer - Absolutely yes. The difference between the CPU’s and the cooling system alone worth the upgrade. Anything really demanding u thrown at the Tab S8 Ultra like gaming made it lagg like hell, presenting 35-40 FPS in Genshin. The Tab S9 Ultra offers stable 60 without any issue.
I get your point ... but I do not play on my tablet and still don't use it for video edit, i guess i can wait ...

@abdulmaleksalem4735 Me personally, I upgrade my tablet and phone once every 3 to 4 years. I had the tab s4 from release, until the end of last year. The S8 ultra is phenomenal. I have no interest in upgrading

Bought this a year ago. Unless piece of rubbish. Wifi drops every few minutes (no fix has worked). Also, tablet very very laggy. DO NOT BUY ! If samsung cant be bothered to fix connectivity issues with their flagship S8 tablet, i would guess the S9 is equally as bad.
