Introduction: "AU CONTRAIRE"

This is "AU CONTRAIRE", the first work I finished in 2024 some weeks ago. I'm just publishing it now because I needed a while for its title. Though it was clear what I wanted to express with the title, I didn't find the perfect (short) term. Then yesterday I strolled through some old works and happened to discover a little series of works called "AU CONTRAIRE" - and found the title perfect for this one too!
It is 200 x 160 cm, mixed media on canvas. The bright turquoise is a little more green in reality, the camera really had problems capturing these red-purple-turquoise combination. I love it how the turquoise "sits" on top of the other colors and also the sharp purple forms; the minimalistic composition is exactly on point!
