- I am so excited to be sharing new fish fry in the house. I am so happy to have my dwarf blue tetras breeding here in Vermont. This fish is rare in the US fish trade. I believe I might be the only person currently breeding this species in the US right now. I look forward to trying to offer this species to the US tropical fish keeping hobby. I would like to know the scientific name of the tetra if You have it. Maybe You said it but I can't hear it clear enough. Realy like the fish but I think that You said that it might not be a tetra. I would like to know what type of fish it could be if it's not a tetra. You also said that there is maybe no other tetra that don't eat their babies. Emperior tetras, Ember tetras and Congo tetras have I been breeding with a lot of plants and had fry all over. Crenuchus spilurus is guarding egg and fry at least 2 weeks. A lot of pencilfishes also do the same.
